Someone on TFW brought up Mole Man. That would be cool to see.

What're you doing chatting Marvel over there? (Can I join in?)

(EDIT: Nm, found it)

If they did entirely new limbs for him, I could see the torso working for Mole Man. The previous Hasbro version is good enough for me though - although I realise he's not readily available for people who missed him.

That's never stopped them before. It's just one of their little bonus, "good enough" things.

I am concerned that the Sentinel will cost $100. I was hoping for a lower price, but it just seems that;s where TRU and Hasbro will head on this one. I assume the Wolverine was an attempt to sweeten the deal and justify the $100...but we shall see.

If that's the case I'm 90% done after the Apocalypse and Sauron waves come out. Keeping the idea that I'll get the yearly X-Men wave, and anything in my top 30 wants (basically Thunderbolts, New Mutants, Alpha Flight, and a few odds and ends.) And they can (not) take that to the bank.

Marvel just announced a line-wide relaunch and showed off a new piece of promo art, looks like the Extremis armor is coming back! Holding out hope for a redo of it (or even just an upscaling of the old mold)

Was mostly on mobile during the weekend, so I didn't really have the inclination to pop into the thread and react (posting on mobile is a pain in the ass). SO! Gonna feedback all the reveals here.

Marvel Riders - Wolverine - So I've been wanting a civilian Logan for a while. Originally, I planned on getting the Retro figure and just slapping the unmasked head on OML, calling it a day. But the idea of 'tank top and jeans' Logan appeals, and he's got his chopper. Which wouldn't have pushed me over the edge, because display space is a premium right now (hell, I have most of our BAFs at my workstation because they take up too much room at home). But then. I saw the Patch alternate head. And I knew I was boned.

Two-Packs - I feel you guys on the Killmonger/Ross rage, especially since anyone would've made a better pack-in than Ross, no matter how much Hasbro saved on that one. That said, I'm likely picking it up when it inevitably hits a sale price, because the one thing holding me back on grabbing Killmonger, aside from the price, was the lack of an alternate head. I figured I'd grab one at discount, but I'm more than happy to hold off in lieu of this two-pack.

The Langs, though. OH MY GOD. Getting a new Scott, and getting a first-ever Cassie, HELL YES. While I will always pine for a Young Avengers Stature-style Cassie, Stinger hits two sweet spots - a brand-new character figure, AND she can fit in with both a Young Avengers and an MC2 display. So sign me up.

Spider-Wave - Actually pretty impressed with this wave. Cloak, Dagger, and Elektra are all definite buys for me, with Doc Ock a strong maybe, and Kaine a lower-tier maybe. The ANAD Daredevil is pretty damn nice, even if I'm not gunning for him. House of M Spidey is sharp, if an easy repaint release. And SP//dr as the BAF makes my heart sing - easily my favorite story in the 'Edge of Spider-Verse' mini-series, and the only thing that could've made it better would have been some sort of inclusion of Peni Parker outside of the suit.

Venom wave - Not feeling it for the most part - the symbiote fan in me has shuffled off this mortal coil. I mean, the figures look nice, and I'm glad the people who want them will have them, but it's not my jam. Which is a goddamn shame, because I LOVE the white packaging. Definitely makes the boxes stand out from even other Legends, and it just really feels kind of 'classy'. I do like the sharpness of the Poison Peter Parker figure, though, so I may pick him up. Incidentally, does anyone think that the Spider-Ham figure is what was dubbed 'Dead Meat' a few months back in one of the wave leaks?

Deadpool wave - Got my Juggernaut-wave Deadpool, so I'm comfortable skipping any others, since my attachment to the character isn't strong at all. But Omega Red and Bishop (BTW people, his hairstyle is a jheri curl, not a mullet) are definite buys, especially since Bish is in his 'classic' look (and, of course, goes along with all the 90s Animated X-Men), and Lady Deadpool is probably in the cards, since the character is at least superficially different than Deadpool. But Sauron as the BAF... friggin' hell, man. Just kill me now, Hasbro. You done good. He looks fantastic.

X-Wave - I was already fully committed to this wave, because X-Men, but knowing that Creed is in his 90s design, and knowing that Magneto is NOT in his white-and-black outfit, sealed the deal for me. Especially with 90s Creed being in the same wave as tiger-stripe Logan. Just gotta worry about getting multiple Madroxes (Madri?)

Avengers wave - Nothing to say about Ant Man and Wasp, other than I'm glad they're happening. Look good enough. Black Knight is a HUGE yes, especially with the alternate heads. If the Riders line continues, I expect to see a repack/redeco later on with his horse. Malekith... not sold on him, but not ruling him out, either.

Walgreens Exclusives - I've never been a huge fan of Silver Surfer, so I don't know if he's a definite or not. If the actual release figure looks good, and I really want to complete a Defenders set, I may go in on him. But Aunt Petunia's favorite boy, that ever-lovin', blue-eyed Yancy Street lug... you'd better believe he's everything I could want in a Ben Grimm. I'm not too concerned about the scale, as long as he's not TOO big (IE smaller than an average Hulk figure). He's getting bought, no question.

Days of Future Past set - Remember how I said I wanted a civvie Wolverine? DOFP Logan also helps scratch the itch, if he's gonna be the grey-templed version from the comics (It's not gonna be OML, no matter what people keep assuming - the box pretty clearly showed a normal 'wingtip' hairstyle), and the inclusion of the MU Sentinel is something I didn't know I wanted. Hopefully they're giving it a good deco. Of course, my wife wants multiple Sentinels, so if the price is right on that set, we may have a couple extra Logans to sell off

MCU 10th Anniversary - Neither of us are huge MCU collectors, only getting a few select characters (Civil War BP and SW, TRU exclusive Groot, all the Homecoming figures, Valkyrie), so I'm not aiming for a majority of this line. But I know a lot of people who are gonna be jazzed as all hell to FINALLY get some classic villains and characters that deserve figures (Pepper, Sif). Would've loved to see a Whiplash figure, though, as well as a Peggy Carter. Definitely getting the Wanda/Vision pack, though.

Overall, I'm pretty impressed that, even with the recent leaks and whatnot, Hasbro has quite a bit to show off this year. Here's to seeing what they reveal next, either at SDCC or before! Can't wait to see what the box set is this year.

Re-launch...bah. Just a corporate buzzword that translates to unneccesary price hikes and less or just the same amount of artic and gear.

Also that killmonger two pack should been him in that plated body armor, camo pants and swappable masked head, not just a repainted gold knock off panther outfit with that foock of seagulls dread do.

Nonono, comics relaunch. Has nothing to do with the figures.

It's just following their practice from the past few years of revamping the line in 'volumes' akin to TV seasons, to supposedly give new readers more 'jumping-on' points.

As long as it's not another fershluggin' event, I'm happy. We've had over two dozen of those in the 2010s, and we're not even done yet.

All I can say about the relaunch is "the more things change the more they stay the same." But maybe we'll get some good figures out of it.

There is no superhero fatigue. You have a great studio, a legendary producer, an up and coming director who's 3/3, and one of the best cast ever assembled in a film. This was meant to be great, and looking at the numbers, please don't be surprised if this film hits $1 Billion worldwide.

agreed...and it kinda makes me wonder...WHAT will be the first superhero movie from Marvel that bombs. or at least doesn't recoup its investment.. ya think it will happen eventually??

Never feel bad, comic figures are always dominant in numbers when you look at the grand scheme of things.

Nahhh i just think its funny. Its also much harder to take him seriously as a villian....like trying to take adam driver seriously as a super evil bad guy. Maybe its just me but movies these days seem to have a real lack of villians that really are....villainous

Agreed. I don't even pick up Marvel OR DC comics anymore unless it's something that I just can't help but read like superior Spider-Man.

@Nite, Hela was a refreshing change of pace for the MCU villains. It's their weakest spot IMO. Loki of course is excellent and Iron Monger/Stane was very calculating and a good intro into the MCU, but other than those I can't think of any that have been more than moderately interesting.

Huh. Maybe I'll take a peak at it then. It's actually been a few years since I last read a Marvel comic; I quit Marvel when they decided that Thor should be unworthy of Mjolnir.

I downloaded a few issues of Jane Foster and then quit even doing that.
