This didn't stop the Marvel Universe figure from pegwarming. I think his design is viewed by most as goofy and Marvel hasn't really done a lot with him lately so even a good chunk of people reading comics now likely aren't aware of ol' Kallark. So yeah he might be the pegwarmer of the wave and his lack of presence beyond the comics might be a factor for that. At the same time Gladiator may not pegwarm because he is only one per case and there are enough comic reading collectors who will want him for their cosmic collection. I don't know, I didn't think Black Bolt would be the super pegwarmer from his wave but sure enough he is still crazy easy to find in my area.

1) He is NOT a well-known character outside of comic circles - the most exposure he's had in the larger consumer consciousness was thanks to the original X-Men animated series, and that's... you know, nearly thirty years old. and 2) He's a top-tier character, power-wise, but the moment you make him so much as doubt himself, his power gets cut in half, easily. There's a reason characters who shouldn't have stood a chance (Gambit, Cannonball, and even the Fantastic Four in that same story you posted) were able to at least hold their own against him. Let's not sell up the guy more than necessary. He's an amazing powerhouse with a much more glaring weakness than kryptonite or magic.

Idk, they both look similar in terms of arm length. I think the bare forearms make the other seen long.

MCU Hawkeyes Legs look shorter and his waist is small which make his proportions look way off.

I think the angle of the pic is a factor too.... the MCU one is being shot at a slight downward angle giving his lags a shorter relitive appearance.

Sure, if Superman had literally crippling confidence issues. I love Gladiator, and I'm very much looking forward to adding him to my collection, but I'm not gonna lie about the fact that:
1) He is NOT a well-known character outside of comic circles - the most exposure he's had in the larger consumer consciousness was thanks to the original X-Men animated series, and that's... you know, nearly thirty years old. and 2) He's a top-tier character, power-wise, but the moment you make him so much as doubt himself, his power gets cut in half, easily. Let's not sell up the guy more than necessary. He's an amazing powerhouse with a much more glaring weakness than kryptonite or magic. I also think it's been a very long time since Marvel even pulled that "self doubt" card on Gladiator. All the stories you mentioned occurred in the 80's & 90s. The main thing against him is as all us comic fans know, is lack of recognition from the none comic book reading crowd. All they know is who's in the MCU & animated toons on Disney XD. That is freaking sad. And the X-Men toon from the 90s was the only time he's been seen in one if I'm not mistaken. |

Looking at the PS4 Spider-Man figure; what's the deal with the web, how does it work with the figure? He doesn't appear capable of holding it so does the loop part just fit around his wrists or something? I'm interested to see what the desired effect is that Hasbro was going for.

The 'loses powers if he has self doubt" card is the biggest POS I've ever heard for a superhero character. They already had established that he was vulnerable to a certain radiation ala Supe's aversion to Kryptonite, but to then throw in the "self doubt" card as well? Who in the hell though that was a good idea & OKed it?

I remember Reed saying something about the way he lifted the Baxter building; he performed the feat from the base without tearing the entire building apart. It was something along the lines of his projecting a force field around the building to maintain its structural integrity. Where’s that Thanos punch out grab from? I want to read that story. |

Lemire's Thanos (2017) issue #3. Thanos is sick and dying so the Shi'ar guard seize the opportunity to arrest him.

Rachel and Rocket used his shaken confidence against him in War of Kings. He eventually shrugged it off. I think that’s an impressive feat considering he was being manipulated by a former Phoenix host. I also think he might be getting more resilient vs the weakness.
Also, I’m pretty sure that FF Gladiator was a super-skrull imposter. It was something along the lines of his projecting a force field around the building to maintain its structural integrity. Where’s that Thanos punch out grab from? I want to read that story. No, that was Gladiator. Reed just deduced that some of his power was confidence based & that the Baxter building shoulda crumbled when he lifted it. He then used some image inducer to make Gladiator think he was punching him & using his eye beams on him which were proving ineffective cuz in reality, Gladiator was usuing his powers on Cap who had his Adamantium/Vibranium shield up vs Gladiator's blows/heat vision When "Reed" didn't go down, Gladiator was shocked & momentarily doubted his powers, that's when Sue was able to KO him with an invisible battering ram type shot. Gladiator has gone toe to to Toe with just about every hero/villain that is a heavy hitter in the marvel universe. In his encounter with the Hulk at a nuclear reactor site, the Hulk found out during the battle that Gladiator was vulnerable to certain radiation & punched a hole in the side of a tank of nuclear radiation & shoved Gladiator face 1st into it & then proceeded to pummel Gladiator into unconsciousness. Gladiator did manage to burn a huge hole into the Hulks chest exposing his internal organs during the fight as well as take the Hulk into space where the Hulk had to think quick & popped Gladiators ears before he suffocated in space. Gladiator has easily bested the Thing, Colossus in battle as well as defeated Hyperion. Though Thanos was sick & "dying" in his battle vs the Imperial Guard, he was still holding his own & kicking many of their butts until the "big gun" showed up & cleaned his clock. Gladiator is a baaaaaaaaaaaaaad man. |

This is true. Speaking of how Thanos was "dying" I don't remember the story actually going anywhere with that, he just got better and moved on. Unless we're meant to gather that losing and regaining his powers also cured him.

Gladiator is a baaaaaaaaaaaaaad man. You're right, I'm remembering more now that you mention the details. Gladiator was chasing the Skrulls and they managed to injure him somehow. About that building lift, it's funny how when Byrne migrated over to DC, he used that same concept of partial psionics to explain how Superman lifts things that should crumble under their own weight. You've made me hungry to read that period of FF again. I need to pick up some old Byrne FF trades along with the Thanos arc Sabah mentioned (which I found already). Which Hulk run are you referencing? I vaguely remember that... |

The one thing that irks the heck outta me with Hasbro is that they do the 2 main leaders of The Imperial Guard & Squadron Supreme then leave us fans of those 2 teams hanging in the wind when it comes to getting at least the core members of the teams made. I use Speed Demon with Hype as my defacto other Squadron member. Knight hawk would be a great figure & would sell as it doubles as both a original member of the Defenders as well as the Squad. Dr Spectrum is just such a visually cool looking character that I can't imagine him peg warming, Blue Eagle & Golden Archer are cool as well, same goes for Power Princess. More females are always welcome so a lot of you say. Here's my list of must have classic comic based Squadron Supreme members I'd love to have in Marvel Legends 6' scale.
Power Princess ![]() Dr Spectrum ![]() Nighthawk ![]() Blue Eagle ![]() Black Archer ![]() Skrullian Skymaster ![]() These members could be sprinkled in 1 per certain Avengers themed waves or even as a boxset on Entertainment Earth. |

He's a member of the Squadron Supreme, he's Marvel's pastiche of Green Lantern just as Hyperion is to Superman. My greatest recollection of him as a character is from one of Marvel's original Graphic Novels in their old run (Squadron Supreme: death of a universe) wherein his powers have gotten to him mentally so he's just totally detached from his humanity. He thinks the most absurd shit while talking to people who are supposed to be his friends, it's actually pretty amusing.

There have been a few Spectrums. At one point, the power prism takes control of Wasp and she attacks the Avengers as Doctor Spectrum.

That videogame spiderman looks so cool in the actual PS4 game footage, but IMO his toy version looks like bantha poodoo for some reason... like he is wearing Spidey overalls almost.
