I'm hardly convinced anything but the movies actually happens in the MCU anymore. The Netflix shows just consistently refer to the battle of New York like that's the only event that ever happened, unless all of these shows are seriously just crammed into the space between Avengers 1 and 2. Also the way many characters call it "the incident" or whatever phrasing they use makes it sound like they're talking about some ancient battle when Sauron was on the brink of wiping out Middle Earth, it's this far removed mythology that they believe shaped their world but no one has any details. Agents of SHIELD is worse about it because we know they claim to keep up with the movie timelines by ham-fisting references into things but then they do stuff that should absolutely call attention and it doesn't because the movies won't reference the shows. I get that there's a huge difference in how shows and movies are made especially regarding scheduling but the strictly one-sided nature of the MCU totally wrecks that "all connected" spiel they tried spinning.

After looking at that luke cage and Claire 2 pack, i have to say that doesn't even look too close to Mike Colter or Rosario dawson. Luke cage looks more like Sen Dog from cypress hill and claire looks like IDK...

I have been saying this for a while now and have been speared for it on several occasions, with people using rationale like "it's taking place in a different time period" all the way to "they live in Harlem...why would they help out in Manhattan!" The MCU feels like it's been living in two separate universes for a while now. It was a brave and ambitious attempt by Marvel to attempt such a thing, but until I see Spider-Man team up with Cloak and Dagger, Thanos knock a building over in Hells Kitchen, or see Daredevil call Cap a Judas to his face, I will continue to perceive them as such. |

Venom looks nice, that packaging is wonderful...
Hopefully it's a while before they hit the US. |

If they could just be a bit more clever and thoughtful about a few other things, such as delivering appropriately sized fists for the mid-to-large male-frame (i.e. Namor, Wonderman, Cap, etc). |

To be fair this is before they’re face printed. I guarantee they will look great once they’re actually released. The same way Black Widow’s early Pics looked iffy at best but now it’s probably one of the best Likenesses out of all the Mcu figs

So...is Monster Venom purple, blue, or black? It's hard to tell from that photo.
Wondering if the head from the old Select Ultimate Venom can be re-purposed for it. The figure itself would make a perfect base and it would be an easy enough repaint. I never was a terrible fan of Gargan Venom. |

I wonder if the Cage/Claire two-pack confirms we're going to be getting additional TV figures. I'd still love a Ghost Rider.

I really feel like Apocalypse should have just been a regular figure who just happens to be larger and the BAF should have been someone like Nimrod who would be at least as big as Juggernaut.

That Carnage looks pretty awesome. I may have to get him to replace my other one.
He's supposed to be. He's Apocalypse after all. Would you want him to be as short as Wolverine? Aren't you a little short for an evil version of Cable? Then again, this is a universe where a reset causes characters to change their race and gender, so who knows, maybe it can make people shorter too. Apocalypse has more parts though. He wouldn't work as a regular sized figure.

I've seen many comments here and elsewhere that seem to be panning this BAF. I like it and the Mac Gargan-Venom design on which it appears to be based. I also liked Hasbro's previous version and wish they had worked the stinger into this latest mold. That said, this is no substitute for an actual Scorpion fig., a redraft that has been conspicuously missing from their stable of remakes. I almost believe Hasbro might be hesitant for fear of putting out an inferior effort that falls short of Toy Biz’ masterfully crafted Scorpion.
It did lead up to one of my favorite incarnations of Venom (the original Anti-Venom) and eventually brought Brock back and re-energized him, so I am grateful for that. Still salty they disposed of him so soon... Being that I'm not a fan of Mac Venom, I do see this though as an opportunity to create one of my other favorite versions of Venom in Ultimate Venom, since this represented the best time to get him, and unfortunately did not. I really enjoyed the new emo/punk take of Eddie's character throughout those stories, and the size bias that I have for 616 Venom doesn't carry over to the Ultimate version. I always thought of it as a protective, malleable shell, almost like a cocoon or mech that could be summoned on command, due to it being created through science as a panacea against disease. The size of the baf is about right, and the goopey tendrils on the body mold work perfectly for it. It's all about getting that terrific looking head that Bagley did when he redesigned it for the Ultimate version of the character. I'm hoping someone gets around to casting the old Select head, because I would rather not sacrifice my own figure for a fully articulated version of the character. I must say though, I really love the packaging for this Venom wave. This will be the first wave in a long while that I will by with the double case packs, because that box art is off the hook. |

I give up finding Thanos at Walmart. I don't make it out much anymore but I'm finding squat that I want when I do. $30 including shipping via Amazon prime - more than I wanted to pay but it's been a rough week with some bad family news, and I need something to sooth the figure collecting itch. (I know, that's gonna be an open line for Nitelife lol).
