I ordered my x figures from HTS yesterday and they arrived today, by far the fastest place to order from.

That Sauron does look pretty sweet. As an aside, I still find his choice of name odd from an in-universe perspective. I get the desire to be equated to the dark lord but Marvel's Sauron has almost nothing in common with his namesake. Why didn't he choose Smaug or Fell? They don't sound as cool but at least those are winged creatures.
![]() It’s worth noting, though, that in Tolkien’s mythos, Sauron, prior to losing his ability to change his shape as the result of his being “killed” during the Fall of Numenor, was known to take on the form of a giant bat when it suited him, so there’s your flying/winged creature connection. |

Found the Target 2-packs. I’ll wait to buy Hobbit-in-a-suit, GlitterPanther, and the other two cheap repaints when they go on clearance. At least give Winter Soldier a legitimate gun he’s used in a movie.
I can’t find any of the waves yet. |

I’m having a horrible time finding a hulkbuster that doesn't fall apart as soon as you move his legs. It’s like they forgot to glue the bottom torso together at the factory on some of these.

No such thing as to many waves, stop saying such things before Hasbro hears y’all and it ends like the GIJoe and Marvel Universe collectors, I know as I was a collector of both and now am just on legends.

My Typhoid Mary arrived today courtesy of Ebay, finally completing my Venom wave. Here's some thoughts...
Typhoid Mary: Out of all of the figures in this wave, this was the one I most looked forward to, as I have wanted Mary in Legends form since this line started, and with the exception of a couple of nitpicking design choices, she did not disappoint. ![]() The costume choice would be the easiest nitpick, as this not my first choice, but it's not like they were going to give her the bare-breasted Knights/MAX look, so in the end, I'm ultimately okay with it. The sculpted corset is really well done, especially because they chose to sculpt the bottom half of it, instead of just painting it on like they did with the recent 80's Punker Storm. I really like the new jacket piece as well. It's the paint work however that makes it stand out. Mary's face is very well done, and it puts the production photos to shame in person. Everything from her pale white eyes, to the blush around them is so clean, and her lips are bright and full, giving off a smile that one could mistake for genuine congeniality, if they didn't realize that Mary is as batshit crazy as they come. They are so well done, it makes me wonder why the hell can't Hasbro get it this right every time? My nitpicks are there though. I really dislike the feet that they gave her, and I really think that it's about time that Hasbro started adding some more variety to the footwear on the ladies. Mary seems out of place without her signature heels/boots. The jacket arms are also somewhat of a bummer, as they cannot fall to her sides due to the sculpt, and don't quite have as much range as I would like. My final gripe is with the accessories themselves. While I like the Psylocke katana, I don't like it's reuse here, and I would have actually preferred they have given her the older style Deadpool/Blade katanas, or better yet, the short wakazashi style swords the recent Classic Deadpool came with, as those have always been Mary's weapon of choice. The Psylocke Katana is just too big. I also wish a smaller fire effect would have been included, but I think some of the effects from the recent Scarlet Witch look great with her and do the trick quite nicely. ![]() All in all though, despite my nitpicks, this one has quickly shot up to my favorite female Legends figure of the year. Sorry Psylocke, you had a good run...however brief. Make way for the queen. (If you're wondering, in some photos, I am showing Mary with various stages of customization. I have since swapped the heeled boots that came with Punker Storm, as well as given her a set of gloved trigger hands from the Vintage Widow, which allows her to better hold her swords, as well as use firearms. I'm also using the older katana with her...I much prefer the look over the new one.) Monster Venom: While I really wished that "Monster" Venom was actually Ultimate or Madness Venom instead of sorta-Gargan...This is actually not a half bad BAF. Taking cues from the recent Amazing Yamaguchi Venom, this guy features a huge, hulking gorilla torso (with matching arms) and a much smaller lower half. As far as being a Monster, he's massive, don't get me wrong, but he's honestly not all that much bigger than Space Venom, and is a bit shorter than the recent Apocalypse BAF, so that should give you a better idea of what you're looking at. ![]() ![]() He has his faults, as the linework on the spider on mine has some fuzzy parts, particularly in the back, and the headsculpt, while cool looking, is also kind of a detractor because it has no jaw articulation. The Lizard had it...why can't Venom? The thing that makes this Venom shine though is the articulation. He has slightly better than 90 degree bend at the elbows, and great articulation from the hips down, including calf articulation, which allows this guy to strike a lot more poses (as well as stand a bit better) than other BAFs his size. Kudos to Hasbro for that! The metallic purple plastic the figure is casted in is also nice, and it's rife with details. I considered painting this figure into Ultimate Venom when I first saw the pics of it, but now I'm not so sure, as I really like the color, and it makes the whole thing pop as opposed to the flat black plastics we received with the Space Knight Venom. ![]() All in all, this wave was a mixed bag, but I can't hate on it too much because despite those issues (the QC issues with Scream and Poison, the money milking Happy Meal toy that was Spider-Ham, and the double dipping that was Venom and Carnage) we still got some decent figures, including two characters (Scream and Mary) that I've wanted for a VERY long time. Hopefully the next Venom wave (should there be one, which I have a feeling there will be...) will feature the rest of the Life Foundation, as well as some characters actually a part of Venom lore (such as Classic Toxin, Sin Eater, maybe even the Vault Guardsman) as opposed to some of the filler characters we got... Filler character or not...I'm so happy to finally have her... ![]() |

My guess would be that prior to becoming a flying lizard-man, Sauron was a bit of a geek (or perhaps a hippie, given the time-period):
![]() It’s worth noting, though, that in Tolkien’s mythos, Sauron, prior to losing his ability to change his shape as the result of his being “killed” during the Fall of Numenor, was known to take on the form of a giant bat when it suited him, so there’s your flying/winged creature connection. Dinosaur = Sauron Really loving your mods. She looks amazing as is, but additions really make her shine. Can't wait to snag my own. After Psylocke, Mary has been at the top my most wanted list for the new wave of figures coming out. Glad to see Hasbro didn't disappoint. |

Got a screencap of the new Strange and the original side by side.

![]() ToyAddicts got their second shipment of the X-Wave in, so we picked up our preorder yesterday. They also got a couple cases of just All-New Wolverine, so we grabbed her as well. (We would've also grabbed the Logan w/ Motorcycle, but we're hanging on to some money to try and nab an SDCC Optimus Primal when they go up on HTS) Some quick thoughts: - Wave has some issues with paint cleanliness across the board. Multiple Man, Psylocke, Sabretooth, and Gladiator all have some issues with fuzzy lines, with Psylocke having a bit of bleedthrough on the back of one of her arms. The fuzziness wasn't dealbreaking (the worst of it is on Gladiator, who was the 'yeah, he's here too' figure of the wave, so it's NBD), but if I had been able to pick-and-choose, I probably would've been a little more selective. - The Lauras they had ran the gamut from pretty decent paint (a little fuzziness here and there, as you can see with ours) to a couple downright sloppy ones (one had a blue smear across her stomach, like someone's thumb got into the blue paint before they put her in the package), so keep that in mind if you're going for her at retail. - Thankfully, we got a Sabretooth that had his jaw set flush with his head, so no gapping there. - Purple-haired Psylocke FTW! Wife still wants to pick up a black-haired one too, if we see her at retail. - Those fins on Magneto's cape are killing me. Might end up trimming them back just to get it to set properly. - I'm actually really happy that Laura's toe claws are a different mold from the hand-claws, and look more like talons/raptor claws. The whole 'we extracted two of her claws from her arms and inserted them into her feet' thing is friggin' dumb - not only would you have to essentially add in new muscles in order for her to pop and retract the claw, it would be too long to fit inside her foot if it was the same length as the ones in her arms. From a design and engineering standpoint, it fails on so many levels. So I'm glad they made it look more natural for this figure, more akin to her foot claws in Logan. - Magneto's helmet fins (the ones framing his face) had a bit of warping inside the package, so I'm gonna need to hit it with some water treatment before using it for display/photos. - Despite the issues and nitpicks, this wave is much better than the last X-Wave, in my opinion. Psylocke, Sabretooth, and Wolverine were vital updates, Multiple Man has been in-demand for a while, and while some people are still clamoring for Jim Lee and/or First Appearance Storm, Punk Storm was the surprise winner of the wave, having minor paint issues (if any) and fantastic sculpting (god, that facial expression is key). Sabretooth comes in a close second, just barely beating out my previous favorite use of the Sentry mold (sorry, Tombstone, you've been dethroned). And while I know Tallpocalypse from the Toy Biz days has a bunch of fans, this is the Apocalypse I've always wanted - not too small, not too big, massive proportions, and a fantastic deco. He'll look great facing off against the upcoming Archangel re-release. As for All-New Wolverine, she's well-worth scouring through to find the best paint, because her sculpt work is great, and her deco is striking once you find a good one. The only major gripe is that something about her unmasked head looks a little... big, at least on her own body. Swapped onto X-Force Laura, it looks a bit better IMO. ![]() Incidentally, the day before yesterday I ran into the entire X-Wave at our local Target, so that's another retail sighting for y'all.

Just picked up red skull and Ronan at my local comic shop. And a huge thanks to Trival psychic for the idea to put the Hydra heads on the First Order Officer’s Body.

Maybe it's because in the past, we didn't get too many mutants, but the X-waves have probably been the most consistently good for the Legends line, between character/costume selection (which a few exceptions) and overall quality of figures.
I think next year's X-Men wave will be no exception, especially with Forge being rumored to be in the wave and possibly even classic Mystique and/or Magneto and/or Quicksilver. And we're only going to see more of it now that we're this close to Disney finally having the rights to the X-Men. |

I wish G.I. Joe would come back. Those damn movies killed the line. Never cared for the universe figs since they were $3 more than the Joes at the time.
