Too bad that wasn't the modern nighthawk, living laser i might wait until he hits the 5 below stores, and that BAF that looks like an 80s go-bot is a definite pass....

@redfox
Captain Marvel will have 7 figures in her wave. There should be 3/4 movie figures and/or 3/4 comic figures For movie I imagine Captain Marvel, Carol. Dr Minerva Skrull. For comic: Carol as Classic Ms Marvel Mar-vell Skrull (super?) Genis-vell we know of. I would love to see a Monica Captain Marvel but semehow I'm not hopeful. @starlord67 You and I must be the same gen, cause I felt the same way about Nighthawk. And I've never found Firestar particularly striking or original, thou she's charming, and I'd like one figure for sure but first I would LOVE a lot of ladies way more classic and original like: Crystal, Clea, Red Guardian, Mantis, Moondragon, Jocasta, Lilith Thena, Bereet (ok I'm pushing mow, but she would look awesome as a toy). And how we don't have Giant-size Xmen Storm, Polaris and Marvel Girl yet...it hurts, man. But hey-ho, we all want characters we grew up with, and the bulk of ML versions are more 90's and 00's, as my generation is more concerned about putting kids through uni, than buying nostalgic figures, so we are in the minority this days. So yaay, score one for as oldies, with the Nighthawk release. |

I really have to wonder why Hasbro keeps using the same horizontal-hinged “trigger-finger” hand for sword-wielding characters like Black Knight, Shatterstar and so forth...

1. How is everyone getting their X-Men wave shipped from Dorkside and mine is still unfulfilled? Do they need me to send them an invitation to ship the damn thing out?
2. That's cool that Mystique is going to be a Walgreens exclusive. They usually aren't too hard to come by. Does this also mean that Quicksilver and classic Magneto are Walgreens too? 3. No idea how any of those three reveals are.

Since the torso for the Punisher is a unique, MCU sculpt, it may cause problems if you try to switch the arms to the standard Legends Blade. The disc at their base might not slot in properly to the new body. I haven't tried it myself though, so I honestly couldn't tell you.
Cracking torsos is always a risky proposition, especially with Legends. It's not something I have been able to do reliably without occasionally ruining the canvas, so now I just kit bash the hell out of figures when I customize instead. If it can't be done with hot water and paints, I'm not interested. That said, I've done a number of Blade customs over the years. My favorite one this far was my most recent one, using the Spider-Man Noir figure and the parts and attachments from the new Blade. That figure features pretty good articulation, as well as a set of hands that works great with both swords and guns. I also had a lot of fun using the Demolition Man (Scourge) figure with a different custom. I think it works well for an armored version of Blade. I've also seen people do decent customs of Blade using just the Netflix Punisher's body on it's own, so that could also save you the trouble of trying to crack a torso if you're okay with that look. Not sure if that helps at all, but I hope it does. Good luck! Quote:
The Noir figure would have been good but for a couple reasons I wanted to use the Netflix Punisher and Blade from that wave. Noir isn't a super cheap figure to get, I have that same cost on so many figures already including Noir, and I already had the other two figures I was gonna sell off. This way I got a new comic figure that doesn't share any parts with my comic collection. Dont have Paladin or any other figures with his parts. Got Noir, Ghost Rider, and Starlord on that body as is. The almost straight up Epic Heroes one looks great too. Personally not a huge fan of the Demolition Man one, I liked the armor from the Man-Thing wave Blade, just hated the bare arms. Actually like the head a lot more now with it having a trench coat. Still gonna try to get an Epic Heroes cast for it. I'll share a pic onceni line the jacket red. Just don't have that color on hand. Don't have any guns for him though, the rifle Punisher had doesn't suit him and that copy was missing the pistol. Though if anyone wants an armless and jacketless Punisher let me know The Noir |

I ran into the two pack last night, and while I didn't pick it up, it's nice. The new colors on Killmonger pop, and while I'm not a fan of the Martin Freeman figure, I do like the new color of the suited body.
What I really want to know is...does the new Michael B. Jordan head work on the Walgreens Human Torch body? ![]() Just wanted to post a couple of quick notes on the Monster Venom BAF, anyone wanting an Ultimate Venom, and is willing to sacrifice their select figure, the head is almost a perfect fit for the Monster Venom body in terms of size and width. ![]() Here's a (albeit bad) mock up of how it would look. You would either just need to paint the head or the body a bit to match, defending on your preference. Of course, you will need to dremel out the head a bit as well, which means it will be the death of your Select figure, but if you're willing to part with it, it's an easy work. ![]() An interesting thing to note, because of the placement of where the hole is bored into the head, you'll actually get better articulation with it in theory than with the regular Monster Venom head, as it will be able to turn side to side as well, something he cannot do as a base figure currently. collecting makes my head hurt sometimes.
"We're getting an all MCU wave, guess there goes our comic figures" turns to "Who the hell wants THESE random comic figures" or "I'm so sick of seeing Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man we need random characters" Turns to "Why the hell would Hasbro make these D listers!" I think we just have our own wishlist and we want just what's on that list. If it's not on that list we aren't impressed. There's probably only half a dozen characters/outfits they could do that would be positive responses from 90% of collectors, simply because they want more movie/comic/higher tier characters/random D level characters |

While inaccurate to exactly how Killmonger's sword looked in the movie Hasbro seems to have based their sword on some of Killmonger's concept art which features the blade as seen with the toy. I'm guessing going off of the shape that it's based on actual short swords used in the Congo referred to as Konda swords.

Just went to Target, and they had a lot of the 10th Anniversary stuff. Seeing it in person is really helpful, as it gives you perspective and allows to you know whether you really need the item. I saw 3 of the Cap/Crossbones packs, and it really made me realize I don't need them, not for $50 anyway. The Cap is really mostly a re-use, and while I do want him, I will either wait for the pack to go on sale or find him loose and cheap. Crossbones was really disappointing. His masked head is tiny, his proportions are clunky and odd, and the unmasked head has terrible paint that just looks like pink goop.
They also had one of the Thanos 3-packs, hidden. The Iron Man is junk, don't need him. The Dr. Strange is meh. The head does look better in person, but still weird. And I don't dig that attached time stone hand. Thanos did look pretty great, but I'll either get him loose or wait for the pack to go on sale. It's also quite possible that a superior Marvel Select version may be realeased, so I'll wait it out. I spend tons of money building Gladiator Hulk only for the Select version to come out and blow it away. They had a good amount of the Mark VII Iron Mans, so I took my time finding one with good paint. I'm really happy with him, he's incredible and has replaced the Civil War 3-pack version as my main Iron Man. His proportions are the best we've seen, and the red actually looks a lot more high-end in person. Definitely recommend him. My only gripe was the $25 price tag, which I felt was unnecessary especially when tax is taken into account. Didn't see anything else there. Still no Infinity War wave, and though there were SKUS for the two-packs, they were sold out.

My wife found the Monster Venom wave at Target yesterday. Two waves she has surprised me with in as many weeks lol. Glad she's out and about doing school shopping for the kids.
She told me the employee said they were holding the cases back for an endcap display. So anyone looking for that wave should at least ask an employee to scan and check their stock. Sometimes they lie so they don't have to go in the backroom. I usually insist they show me the quantity on their handheld if they say there's nothing but what's on the floor. |
