I caved just now and bought Black Widow for $27 so I can use my prime free shipping before cancelling later this month. I am a fool.

Thank you Amazon for : A: Actually filling the order B: At the $19.99 price C: getting it in stock three days early so it's delivered today and B: that it's the white head version.
So glad I waited, patience paid off in this case. edit; in case anyone is wondering, going to keep my BAF piece. I have this and Spider-Woman and I may eventually decide to build the Lizard when the prices go down enough. Just don't want to get rid of this piece and be SOL if I do decide to do so. |

LOL looking at the SDCC panel, the first picture they showed for Skullbuster had Lady Deathstrike and everybody went "YES! YES! YES!" then they announced Skullbuster and it quickly turned into "Ohhhh....okay."
EDIT: Hmm....didn't notice this before but at the panel they specifically say about the X-Men wave BAF that "He's a character with arms and legs and head.....he's pretty big. Pretty strong, too." Yeah, the BAF definitely has to be Strong Guy lol Last edited by SymbiSpidey; 08-24-2018 at 01:44 PM.. |

Yeah I'd already told myself if it went under $30 w/ shipping I was getting him, but this was even better. I'm usually not quite that patient but it was a figure I wanted but not one I "needed" (in terms of collecting of course, wants and needs are much more subjective than survival wants and needs. Except for Jim Lee Storm. That is necessary for my survival.

My two newest acquisitions:
Wolverine: Aside from a little sloppiness with the paint on his mask he's solid, I really like the way the colors turned out on him ![]() ![]() Psylocke: Probably the one character I was most looking forward to and there are problems. Most of the line work on her costume is really fuzzy. They definitely used the wrong buck, I've heard a lot of people saying she's on the same buck as Hellcat, that's incorrect, she's on the same buck as Dagger, and they really should have reused the Ashley Barton buck if not the Moonstone buck. I'm also not a fan of her psychic butterfly effect, it's too pointy ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My current X-Men display ![]() |

On the Silver Surfer topic, I'm going to assume he's also been released because I ran into him today and picked him up. Here's some thoughts.
Silver Surfer: While I wasn't a fan of the body mold being implimented when I first saw the unveil, having the figure in hand, I can say with confidence that I believe they went with the right choice. Having grown up in Hawaii, and seen my fair share of surfers and beach bods, this is the look for Norrin that I wanted. Contrary to what people have been griping about as well, I feel that the board is appropriately sized as well. The headsculpt on mine was very well done, and while we all tend to groan at them at this point, the re-use of the "Kirby bubbles" was a smart one, especially with the new, glittering plastic they used. They still don't place securely on the body, but they at the very least look like they are radiating with cosmic energy. The plethora of extra hands are an awesome bonus, giving this version of the Surfer a TON of emoting options. ![]() As for the negatives, I really wish that they would have put a spare peg onto the surfboard to allow both feet to plug in. It would make it a hell of a lot easier to pose with a stand if they did. In addition, and this is a really big one...I really wish it had been cast in silver plastic as opposed to have being painted on. My Surfer has a bald spot on his front left shoulder where you can see the light grey plastic underneath. I painted over the spot, and while it's passable, I can't unsee it. I have a feeling this is going to be a common issue as well, as I have another Surfer here that I picked up for a friend, and upon taking a closer look, it has the same issue. Be sure to check over the left shoulder (Surfer's left) when picking one up in store. ![]() All in all...despite those two issues, this is the best Walgreen's exclusive we've gotten to date. Go get him! |

I'd also just say that Surfer is officially out at this point, I was able to grab mine in person back on the 9th. He may not be completely distributed yet but he's out there.
