Best
Comic-Mysterio
Mcu-Yellow jacket

Worst
Comic-Spider-ham
Mcu-Thanos (baf)
Best:
Thing
MCU Crossbones
kinda lovin' Deathlok also... why the hell not

Worst:
Gonna have to go with Spider-Ham also. But there really aren't any other straight up misses imo.

See i was gonna go with Thing as well as my top Comic fig but i just love the Mysterio Haha.
The 3-Pack thanos(which is insanely beautiful) is what we should have had as the baf. The baf one looks like he's a Californian raisin that grew.

Crossbones got nearly edged out by Yellow Jacket on my list. Who's probably my favorite fig of the year

Best goes to Apocalypse and 90s Wolverine.

Worst goes to MCU Iron Spider (It's by no means a bad figure. Just incredibly underwhelming.)

lulz at space redneck Thanos

Yeh mon, I dig Mysterio as well. Yellowjacket too looks very cool. But I still got some to catching up to do this year yet. Lucky for me I'm not into 99% of the Star Wars stuff or DC crap from the past year or I'd be hurtin'.

Honestly this year's been so good I don't think I could narrow it down to just 3 off the top of my head.

Comic Thanos
Bishop
80s Storm
Apocalypse
Noir Spidey

Those were a few that spring to mind.

Glad to have found Vintage Wasp at GameStop, today. She's been on my short-list of remaining 2018 figures. Now if I could only find Magik..my stores have only just began stocking Silver Surfer. *sigh*

If I had to narrow it down into threes for this past year....

Favorite Comic Figures: Omega Red, Typhoid Mary, and Classic Deadpool
(Honorable Mention) Psylocke

Favorite MCU Figures (Non Studios Versions): Wasp, Thor, Black Widow

Favorite Studios Figures: SDCC Red Skull, Mandarin, Crossbones

Favorite BAF: Apocalypse

Worst Figures: Spider-Ham (in a landslide,) House of M Spidey, Gladiator
(Dishonorable Mention): Songbird

Worst BAF: Two way tie between SP1DRP and that awful MCU Thanos.

Let's see, for me:

Favorite regular figure: Thing, no contest. Runners up would include Typhoid Mary, Doc Ock, biker Black Widow, Punk Storm, 90s Cable, and Mr Fantastic.

Favorite BAF - Apocalypse.

Favorite reissue/repaint - Either Walmart Thanos or Gamestop Archangel

Worst figure - Gwenpool

Worst BAF - SP//der

Best: Thing, followed by the BAF Apocalypse.
Worst- Sp//Dr BAF and maybe Gwenpool since I just don't really care about her.

How about this? What was the overall best wave and the overall worst wave?
My personal best was the Apocalypse wave, while I think the Sauron wave was the worst, just because I didn't need that many Deadpool figures in 1 wave.

Still holding off on my Best/Worst list until the very end of the year, but I can definitely say a few that will make my Top Ten:

The Thing
Punk Storm
Elektra
Omega Red
All-New Wolverine
Magik

And despite the dislike I see for him here, SP//dr is definitely in the running for Best BAF on my list.

If I had to pick a winner wave...I'd have to go with the SPYDRP wave. While House of M Spidey and the BAF overall was a miss, nearly every other figure in that wave was a solid hit.

Worst wave overall would have to be a two way tie between the Black Panther and Sauron wave. They were good figures that came out of them, but both were largely uninspiring and were poorly thought out.

On a slightly different note...my wife and I welcomed the newest addition to our family last night with a healthy baby boy...so here's a shot I took when we first announced our newest "homecoming" to our family and friends a few months back.

Best:

Comic - Thing. Though there were plenty of great comic book figures that came out this year that could easily cause my opinion to change on a daily basis.

MCU - Either Cull Obsidian wave Thor or Yellowjacket, though leaning more towards Thor because he was an absolute beast in IW.

BaF - This is tough. Monster Venom, Apocalypse, Cull Obsidian and Sauron were all fantastic BaFs. I liked Lizard too. Ultimately, execution wise, I'm gonna go with Monster Venom. I would love to see a Venom with the classic color scheme + logo on this body, which I fully expect Hasbro to do at some point in the next 3 years.

Overall wave - It's looking like the X-Men have taken it for the 3rd year in a row, though the Cull Obsidian wave was an incredibly strong wave across the board (I don't think there was a single bad figure from that wave). I just like the character selection better in the X-Men wave, because X-Men.

Worst:

Comic - Spider-Ham, easily. There's a few figures from this year that I'm meh about. Spider-Ham is so lazily and shoddily done that it actually feels like a slap in the face.

MCU - Gonna go with MKI Iron-Man from that Marvel Studios 2-pack. I don't even own the figure, but I know it's just a repaint of that old ass figure from 10 years ago, which wouldn't be so bad, except it's completely out of scale with everything else. Since the Tony Stark in that pack is nothing but reuse anyway, I would have liked to see them put that money into creating a new MCU Iron-Monger figure.

BaF - Easily SP//DR. It's a poorly-engineered figure for a character with a crappy design (IMO).

Overall wave - Monster Venom wave. Loved Typhoid Mary, liked Scream. The rest of the wave was kinda throwaway for me. I liked that Carnage and Venom came with unmasked heads, but they were ultimately just reused characters. Spider-Ham was trash. I have no attachment to Poison whatsoever. I find it odd that they didn't include Riot in the wave, considering this wave is a pseudo-movie tie-in wave and he's the main bad guy, plus he gives us the 3rd member of our Life Foundation symbiotes.

I was almost inclined to put the Sauron wave because of half it just being different Deadpools, but those figures were actually good, despite character selection.

My Best:
Thing
Storm
Lizard BAF
Mysterio
Mr. Fantastic
Apocalypse BAF
Thanos Walmart exclusive

Worst:
Gladiator (hard yawn on character selection)
Psylocke (IDK, just seems like a weak effort on all fronts to me – head sculpt, paint apps, costume choice, etc.)
X-23 Wolverine (My online order had awful paint apps. Unforgivably awful, I say.)
Prowler (I got him only to complete a BAF. Really...WhoTF is this?)

I'm legit sad figures are no longer 25% off at Gamestop... it was such a nice two weeks... Archangel, Vintage wave 3, most of the Apocalypse wave & Deadpool wave 2 & Doc Ock Spidey wave figures... all readily available and cheaper than regular retail even at Gamestop's markup because of the sale.

And let's see my top 5 fav figs this year...

1.) Archangel repaint
2.) Punk Storm
3.) X-23 (x-force version with unmasked Wolverine headswap)
4.) Multiple Man
5.) Venom (with unmasked head) <--- he and Carnage were everywhere around here, then the Venom movie came out and suddenly only Carnage was everywhere
Honorable Mention: Vintage Scarlet Spider (with unmasked head)

Best of 2018 so far, and in no certain order...
Best so far...And, just my opinion ladies and gents...

1. Vintage Vision (Awesome!)
2. Thing (Fantastic!)
3. Lady Deadpool (Man, She is better in hand!)
4. Silver Surfer (Hasbro came through!)
5. Exculsive Archangel (Great redo, w/accessories!)
6. Sauron (Hasbro, thank you for not going cheap!)
7. Sasquatch (Great representation of him, more AF, please!)
8. WM Exclusive Thanos (Repaint, but redone well!)
9. Doc Ock (Classic uniform and done well!)
10. Vintage Black Panther (Those paint apps are stunning!)
11. Laser (I love him, nice pait apps!)
12. Lizard (Really nice figure, details or detailed!)
13. Sp//dr (I know most people do not like him, but I am really digging him, it comic accurate and he looks weird, but sometime makes me like him!)
14. Hydra and AIM Soldier 2-Packs (Army builders, perfect!)

Worst...So far...
1. Spider-Ham (Hasbro got me! The articulation sucks b@lls!)
2. Paldadin (So basic so blah!)
3. Human Torch (Hasbro, got me again! Translucent effect is trash!)
4. Poison (Poison is Poison!)
5. Gwenpool (Yuck!)

Note: Hasbro, please make Havick!

Recent pick ups...

I did my top 10 some time ago, before I got The thing figure, so sometime in September, but to summarize the best and worst:

Best was Sauron BAF. I don't normally put BAF at top spot, and usually even just put them separately, but Hasbro completely knocked it out of the park with Sauron. Favorite Hasbro BAF ever.

Worst I didn't do before, but I'd probably say Gwenpool. I got her for the BAF piece and even ended up giving her away to the lucky recipient ( you know who you are lol). Worst that I kept pantless Deadpool. Just not my style at all. Paladin takes third here because that is just one boring ass figure. And finally Gladiator, only because I already have the SDCC set one. There really were not any others I thought were "bad"

Why do people not like Poison? He's a great figure.

And how many say Gwenpool, not based off the figure but the character? (though the figure is bleh)

Yea I actually like Poison as well. Him and Typhoid mary are my favorite from that wave
On GwenPool i dont even know the character but felt the fig was a bit underwhelming. Not my least favorite but no where close to favorite figure of the year.
Thats just my opinion. Like I really love that Prowler figure he could've been in my top 5 easy.
