Poison isn't bad. He's just one of those characters that feels like wave filler. Like Paladin or like 90% of the Kingpin wave.

But that's just me. There's fans of the character that are happy to have him and they got a mostly okay figure, though mine had some shoddy QC on the spider on his chest.

I like the character of Gwenpool, but the figure is just so meh. Although that maybe because they couldn't do her in her proper art style.

Well for me:

1. If I don't like the character, I think it's a waste of a toy.
2. The figure was shitty. The paint was sloppy. The plastic felt cheap and brittle. Some of the joints were loose.
3. I instantly sold the figure hours after getting it.

I understand the second point but not the first. You yourself may not like the character but many do.

Honestly, I can see why not a lot of people are fans of the Gwenpool figure. A lot of her charm in the comics is from Gurihiru's art style, which the ML fails to capture - as I've said before, she looks like when she guest-stars in another title.

It makes the MAFEX version so much more worth it.

(And I'm saying all this as someone whose wife has both proudly displayed)

Yeah, I gotta agree on that one. That MAFEX is stunning.

Swapped the head and wings from the Vintage Wasp onto the Modern Wasp, and it's surprising at how minor changes could make such a difference. She's pretty stunning. The re-use for the head was an inspired choice for Janet. The monochromatic paintjob on Domino hid so much of the detail and sculpt that it almost feels as if the head was dedicated for Wasp all along. Also, my pictures do no justice to the wings which have the most fantastic iridescent glow about them.

I'm the one that you sold it to, I personally have no issues with paint or the quality of the figure. I don't remember how loose the figure was but, I like her so I'm really glad you don't!

IMO..in general..

BEST/WORST does not equal FAVORITE/LEAST FAVORITE

i feel like people have been mixing the two.

lol

Interesting as I'm pretty sure I thought her paint job was sloppy, but since I don't like the character, maybe I found the issues to be worse than they actually were. As for looseness, didn't her head have some sort bobble effect?

Thank you, this is what I plan on doing when I get the Vintage Wasp. It actually makes her match the 3.75 figure for a proper shrinking effect in a display.

To everyone who posted congrat wishes, thank you! It's been a busy couple of weeks, not to mention the last few days, that's cut back greatly on my time here. Baby boy is doing great though!

First off...

As for my wave ranks, I don't know, it was a toss up between MCU Thanos wave, Sauron, and Black Panther wave as the worst for me. Those are the three waves currently pegwarming my area, and when you go and look at them, it's easy to see why. All the waves had 1 or two cool figs that I enjoyed, but they also were full of figures that were released again later, poor BAF choices (NO WAY should Okoye had been the BAF. Standard figure at best.) and questionable character selections.

As for the best/worst vs. favorites...I don't know man. I picked the figs that I thought were the best, had the least amount of QC issues for me, although I also listed them as favorites. I'm not even a Deadpool fan, and he was in my top 3. It's all subjective...so...

Wow @Redfox! That head swap makes a huge difference! Now I want to buy a 2nd one. I've been debating making a Pixie from the X-Men out of the mold, although I personally wish there was a teen girl body with the back piece for the wings, but it's worth a shot anyway.
I picked up 4 of the 6 figures in the vintage wave. Passed on Panther, just need to find an Ant-Man.

I don't really want that Scarlet Spider, but if anyone feels like parting with the Ben Reilly head that comes with him, please let me know. I'd love to get that (and the 'Matt Murdock' head from the Walgreens Daredevil) as alternate heads for the Summers brothers.

What store are you finding the Sauron wave pegwarming? I am in the Seattle area and I have never even seen a single figure from this wave in any store.

My local Walmarts and Gamestops have been stuffed with Madcap Deadpools, Lady DP, and Laura-rine. Many of the Sasquatch figures are also warming, particularly Domino and Paladin.

Bishop and Omega Red were the first to disappear and I haven't seen much of them since the wave dropped. Maybe two or three times since.

The Venom wave has been the most scarce wave for me this year I think, though the SPIDRP wave is a close second. I only ran into them the one time at Walgreens, and maybe twice since at Walmart.

Man, I wish that was the case here. I've seen a couple of Sauron-wave figures once in a while, but mostly at Gamestops, and I'm not willing to pay those prices just to finish my Sauron. Walmart out here just seem filled to the brim with Ant-Man and Wasp figures from the Cull Obsidian wave. Targets are still backed up with Sasquatch, Black Panther, and/or MCU Thanos figures (especially Songbird), except for the occasional Warlock-wave X-Men or... you know... the STILL LINGERING Misty Knights. I really wish someone would buy those for customs. I'll occasionally see a Gwenpool or a Spider-Woman from the Lizard wave at Target, but that's it.

It's to the point where I'm almost exclusively buying either from Toy Addicts or Amazon, depending on which gives me the better price-for-value option.

If you ever figure out a plan share it with us. Because we're all going to need it for the Kingpin wave -twice over. I predict lots of figuring buying just for the BAF part.

Thankfully, John (the owner of Toy Addicts) sells a lot of BAF parts on the cheap, as well as completed BAFs for $40-$60 on average (depending on character, demand, and rarity). Since Kingpin is the main draw of that wave, and I'll only be picking him up once (we rotate what's on display, so I can have him out either as Fisk or Farouk), I'll swallow the $60 and just buy him directly.

Ah, yes, her head does have a bobble effect to it, but most figures I get do. As for the paint, I may not be as critical as others or it may be that I like the character and i'm just not as critical overall as you? lol To each their own.
