I've made it no secret that while I'm not a huge fan of Spider-Gwen, I do dig the design and especially like some of the subtle changes that were made to it for the Spider-Verse movie, so I went ahead and managed to pick up the two pack version loose on Ebay for about 12 bucks.
![]() At first glance, it doesn't look like there is much difference, but up close, it becomes more apparent. The most obvious change is the painted laces on her ankles for the ballet style pointe shoes that she wears in the movie. The line work on the hips is different, and is placed higher on the torso and doesn't extend into the legs like the Sandman version. The black pattern that flows over the breasts is also much wider than the original. The mask has less of the pink around the eyes and is a bit more red in color, while the unmasked head sculpt has more muted tones along with more of a nude look to it. The line work on the webbing is a bit cleaner as well. ![]() Overall...I actually prefer this re-release of the figure over the original. About the only gripes that I can come up with is the lack of swappable hands, the lack of newly sculpted feet (pointe shoes are much more narrow than your typical shoe and have a box toe) and the reused unmasked headsculpt that is inaccurate to the film. I didn't let that hinder me, so I worked out my own compromise for a closer look to the on screen character, and I am quite happy with how it came out. I may dump my Sandman wave Gwen altogether in favor of this one, and I hope this look finds its way into the comics at some point if it hasn't already. Note: Might have to get this 2 pack loose like you...Can’t believe to hole I am burning in my pocket as the year closes...X-Mas has already been a great for me...

The only difficulty I encountered with it is that since the Gwen figure has bangs, I had to sand off some of the glue on her forehead. As I mentioned, the hairpiece isn't a 100 percent perfect fit, so you will either have to hollow it out a little bit, or shave a little bit off of the back of Gwen's head for an ideal fit. I did a little bit of both, to get it just right, allowing the hairpiece to sit a bit lower and to cover up some of the flaws from the sanding process. ![]() Here's a collage so you can better see the "Overlap" cuts I was mentioning. I could have went a bit shorter, but opted not to for because A. I didn't want to paint the shaved "peachfuzz" portion under the hair on the head, and B. Since I am shaving the side that is parted, it already gives the appearance of having the faux-hawk comb-over effect. It's a relatively simply mod to do provided you take your time. Also...WEAR EYE PROTECTION when using a dremel! I got hit in the face with with a good chunk of soft plastic while doing this...thank goodness I was wearing goggles. I was really scoffing this re-release of Gwen as a waste of plastic when it was first announced, but having it in hand, it's the tinier details that I mentioned that make the original Absorbing Man wave Gwen feel like a Chinese knockoff in comparison. And yes, in case you were wondering, the head from that figure does fit on the new Gwen as well, giving you some options if you want to go through with this mod. Yeah...I was pleasantly surprised I won it for that price. I threw out a random bid on one of those auctions that people started at one dollar, and lucked out. Ebay can be a great spot to grab figures if you properly understand bidding practices, and truly only bid what you're willing to pay (I.E....don't always feed the scalper beast and use buy it now.) While it's possible to get sniped or get outbid by shill bidding, often at times, you will get lucky and nab something for a much lower price than you expected. The hairpiece is from the Cull Obsidian Black Widow figure. It's a perfect match color wise and will fit the Gwen head with a minor bit of tweaking. What I did was simply cut some of the hair off the right side by following the lines where the hair "overlaps" on the sculpt.

I just realized that the only complete team we have in legends ( other that the ee box set of guardians ) is the walgreens ff. Hopefully that changes soon.

We're missing several Guardians from the DnA run, the box set just gave us the core group and Vance from the original GOTG was in the vol2 wave 1. Mantis, Bug, Moondragon, Phyla Vell, and Jack Flag are absent. Cosmo too but I don't remember if he was ever properly a member or just their host.

While both a classic F4 line up and the Wrecking Crew are complete, there are a few more that you can look at. Mark Waid's first Avengers team is complete. Iron Man, Vision, Female Thor, Falcon Cap, Ms. Marvel, Nova and Miles Spidey are done up in their correct costumes.
We almost have a complete X-Men Blue team. Once Gambit, Beast and the new Jubilee drop that'll be complete. The Sinister Foes of Spider-Man is just missing a Overdrive. I hope he gets made. Hasbro seems to try to give us some teams. While they might not always be complete, they represent a good number of members in some cases. Edit: As I started typing this I realized just how many teams are missing 1 figure to be complete. |

We may not have Joe Fixit Hulk, but we do have a Hulk, so I'm pretty sure we do have these guys as a tandem...

IDK why but I don't really count the Hasbro Marvel Legends that were on cardbacks towards the completion of ML teams. I think Hasbro should remake all those inferior mold figures.
EDIT: Just realized some figures like Archangel were okay and released on cardback while some inferior mold figures were released in the new boxes like the TRU exclusive X-men wave. Last edited by MeLikeJinx; 11-26-2018 at 07:27 PM.. |

Really hoping the next X Men Wave completes the Gold Team. Colossus, Storm and Iceman would do it, but Jean Grey really needs a redo and I’d like her to be in a two pack with a rerelease of Jim Lee Cyclops. The original X Force lineup could be done pretty quickly too. The next few sets I want for X Characters.......
X Men 5 Storm (Gold team) Colossus (Gold team) Wolverine (Fang costume, with alternate Fang head and hands) Nightcrawler (classic) Mr. Sinister Lady Deathstrike Iceman BAF: Strong Guy X Force (Deadpool rebranded) Wolverine (X Force) Cannonball Boom Boom Warpath Guardian Domino Cable (blue/yellow X Men uniform) BAF Wendigo X Men 6 AoA Weapon X Feral AoA Cyclops Storm (GSXM) Thunderbird Banshee Emma Frost (White Queen) BAF Nimrod Vintage X Men Cyclops (John Byrne with lighter blues and no paint shading, modern Hawkeye unmasked head) Dark Phoenix (translucent hair, alternate Moonstone head) Wolverine (Strike Team uniform, with no claw fists) Sabretooth (Animated series colors [yellowish mane] and Wolverine’s cowl in Tiger Stripe colors) Rogue (Jim Lee, flat greens, lighter yellow and ungloved hand) Cable (X Force #1, with guns) Two packs 90’s Cyclops/90’s Jean Grey (with pink energy effects for Jean and the same unmasked head from my proposed Vintage Cyclops for him) Wolverine (first appearance) VS. Hulk (classic) Amazon 4 pack Magneto Toad Scarlet Witch Quicksilver |

10th 2 packs are pretty cheap on Amazon. Cap and Crossbones are $25, Thor and Sif are $23, Ant Man and YellowJacket are $26, which I got for $24 somehow.
