People often say Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark, and I do agree that he's pretty perfect casting, but JK Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson is that x1000. I literally could not imagine anyone else in the role. If they ever have MCU Peter start working at the Bugle they need to bring Simmons back as Jameson, current-ongoing-role-as-DCEU-Commissioner-Gordon be damned.

He was basically equivalent to professor x being played by Patrick Stewart. I remember a wizard article from like 91’ where they were doing fanticy casting for an x men movie. The only one they had right was professor x.

I remember that. At the time theyd had micheal biehn as cyclops, glenn danzig as wolverine, clint eastwood as cable, rutger hauer as magneto, clancy brown as sabertooth, rebecca demornay as white queen and patrick stewart as magneto. There were a couple others but thats what i can remember.

I remember those casting dream pages in Wizard. They were kind of funny. I remember they had one for Wild CATS with Dan Quale as Dan Quale or something like that.

I don't see any reason why he can't be both. DCEU is already talking about casting changes anyway, I'd much prefer him come back as Jameson.

Some of those aren't too bad. Clancy Brown as Sabretooth woulda been pretty good actually. And Rutger Hauer as Magneto... hell, he could do that now. But Clint Eastwood? I swear that muthafucka was like 77 years old even back then! They coulda said Dolph. He got the height and the muscle.

Danzig as Wolverine, not sure about that one. He always had kind of a fat face as far back as I remember. He could be MODOK!

Wizard also suggested Robert Deniro for Wolverine at one point.

This may be a bit of an off-the-wall choice (and more reliant on hindsight than any of the popular choices of the time), but someone who I think could've been a perfect non-Jackman choice for Wolverine back then would be Andy Serkis. Not only does he have a more appropriate face for it than the other choices (IMO) and, as we all know, lots of proficiency at acting animalistic, but he's also only like 5'7".

Totally agree on serkis, he could still pull it off today. devito would have been awesome! In the late 80s early 90s. Wolverines not suppose to be pretty people!

In the late 80s early 90s I thought Harvey Keitel would have been perfect. As for who they go with now, it's too bad Jon Bernthal is already known for Punisher. I think he would make a great Logan.

Get them while they are on sale.
I feel bad for encouraging people to jump on these when they went down to $28.

Is it just me or have there been a lot of massive price drops with legends recently? I know sales are to be expected this time of year but I feel like everything I bought in the past 8 months is on sale for half what I paid.

Fan casts are usually about looks and personality moreso than acting ability. To this day, I'd still argue that no one is better suited to play a live action Wilson Fisk than King Kong Bundy.

All I know is that when the time comes I want John Rhys Meyers as Sinister and Eva Green as Selene.
