Hate to sound like a mark, but I’m cool with the M’Baku wave. I believe I ordered the Civil War Giant-Man wave from BBTS, however, I’ve never once seen CW Black Panther in retail. It was my understanding he was a hard figure to find for a while. Perhaps there will be better distribution for this wave and others who missed out will get a chance to buy it. As far as the rest of the wave, before the billion dollar surprise I fully expected all these figures to be released in the first wave, but I thought our original Nakia should have included heads for other members of the Dora Milaje. I remember being disappointed we weren’t getting more variety there. Finally, I knew...knew they would release a kinetic energy Black Panther the moment I saw him use it in the second trailer, and I knew it would be released with the Infiny War brand. I’m okay with that duplicate, and can justify purchasing it because it is technically “different “, he uses it in a different film, and I display my figures by films released. I cannot, however justify 3 Star-Lords, 2 Thor’s, Battle damaged Iron Man and Cap, and Astral Doctor Strange. Bomber jacket and Binary Captain Marvel can also be included in that discussion. LOL
I would have been fine if we had received other BP figures...such as Shuri, or a ceremonial battle T'Challa or Killmonger with his scars. Heck, I would've loved to see a T'Challa in his chanclas that Shuri loved so much. At the very least, that figure would have been cool for more civilian looks in our collections. And Nite...to answer your question, there is almost no difference in the new CW BP figure and the original one outside the new T'Challa head and the color silver used to line the body. |

Note: I want an update Hulk as well...I like the new S.H. Avengers Hulk, but I am hesitate to pull the trigger, I am a little put off by the face sculpt... I guess my Hulk from the Hulk vs. Leader 2 pack will have to do for...

If you are a mark...you're a mark. We all are over something. I marked out over the Venom wave, though I thought the re-release of Venom himself was a bit much for that one, as the upgrades were barely there in comparison to the Carnage we received.

I'm wondering since we won't be getting Shuri until next year, if she'll still have her attire from the final battle in Black Panther. Ceremonial versions of T'Challa, N'Jadaka, and M'Baku would have been too much for my body to handle. |

A are you referring to Mattel losing their DC License? The new company that acquired the DC License looks like they know nothing about Action Figures.

It sucks that Mattel is going the direction they are, especially since Multiverse has improved by leaps and bounds these past 2 or 3 waves, but to give some credit in good faith to the new license holder, maybe Spinmasters blows it out of the water. Maybe it takes them a while, or maybe they've done their homework and they come out the gate breathing fire. People were griping when Hasbro initially took over the Marvel license from Toybiz...and it was some really rough seas for a while, but now people can't seem to sing enough praise. Time will always tell the story. |

I'm joking because people seem to be thinking for some reason that Mattel is gonna get the Marvel Legends license.

Mattel does seem to be eyeing both the Marvel and Star Wars licenses when they're up in 2020 to fill the void the DC license is leaving, but it's wild that some people think Mattel is actually gonna be able to outbid Hasbro for them.

I do think though that Mattel can and will make a strong play for the Star Wars license next year. It's been one of the worst secrets in the toy industry that Hasbro is not happy with their current deal with Disney and Lucsasfilm there, and they have shown it in their marketing strategy over the past few years, as there has been less and less product of quality and note, even when there are new films to support them. A number of retailers are also starting to shy away from Star Wars as well, citing an oversaturation of the market as well as a general fatigue in the franchise from consumers. Plus, many retailers have been reluctant to fully embrace Star Wars as of late because what was once a story about space nazis and wizards with laser swords has become a hotbed of devisive topics ranging from feminism to representation...and that's before the SJWs start cooking up whatever they can think of. While Star Wars will still drive a high price no doubt, it's lost a little bit of its value, as well as it's vice like grip, in the action toys industry. I can easily see Mattel overpaying for the license while feeling like it's a victory...which is the kind of move that many struggling companies and franchises make hoping to make a splash and give themselves a shot in the arm. Hopefully it won't do them in during the long run. On the topic of toy likeness, I think metal has been doing a lot better as of late. Outside of Mera, the Aquaman line has some pretty strong likenesses, and they are now incorporating the digital face printing technology that Hasbro uses on their own WWE Elite lines. Some of them are drop dead spot on, especially the recent Walmart exclusive AJ Styles and Carmella, as well as the recent Elite Shinsuke Nakamura. The upcoming Ultimate Rhonda Rousey looks fantastic as well, and what Mattel is doing with this technology can very easily hold water to anything that Hasbro is doing with Black Series or Legends. I think they might sniff at it when the rights come up next year, but there is no way Hasbro is letting anyone touch that puppy.

The bigger concern is probably Disney one day deciding they want an in-house toy company, but even that I see being a far off concern. |

Worst case scenario, is the Marvel license up with Hasbro as of 2020 or is it through 2020 - in other words will they still be able to make legends in 2020 if Mattel (or someone else theoretically) took over and they started in 2021?
As many reveals as there are for 2019 there are still so many things that are "needs". And I would definitely worry if someone else took over the license, they would likely, outside of movies, go back to releasing core figures again first before niche characters got made. I have no desire to shuffle through years of (probably less quality) repeats. |

Why people gotta be so damn mysterious when they say the found something is beyond me...unless they stole that photo off the net and are lying. That wave looks like hot, wet, garbage on a humid day. Just hoping I can snag a couple of Nick Furys for customs. And having seen some of the final products in photos on Facebook...in case you were wondering...No...they didn't fix the unmasked Captain Marvel headsculpts. |

Being that the Instagram account that posted that has the word "custom" as part of it's name/handle...I'm gonna go out on a limb and say not likely. It looks like a repaint of the recent Agent Ross figure judging by the black tie and shirt. You can also see paint rub on the inside of the elbow joints.

Got this lot from GameStop. If you're interested in army-building the Dora Milaje, I'd check their clearance sections. My store had a BOGO deal on clearance items, and I was able to get a Nakia base body to help bolster their ranks. Now to find a suitable, non-battle-ready, body for the Nakia head sculpt.
