So I found the Walmart Captain America today. They only had the one of it and he was stashed away over in the bicycle gear and equipment section which is of course not suspicious at all. I didn't plan on getting him before but in hand he was just too nice to pass on. I do prefer the Steve head from the Crossbones pack though, this one seems like a pinker skin color and I do like the other hair more.

I had a pretty epic weekend of collecting. Stryfe is another grail I can strike off my list, and that comic Loki was an incredible deal I stumbled across. It’s one of the most well crafted figures I’ve held in hand. I can’t wait to match him up with the 80th anniversary Thor.

My Brotherhood shelf will have a massive upgrade with the Amazon pack. I can’t wait to work on setting it up. Paid apps on Quicksilver are disappointing, but not a deal breaker.

Molten Man is one ugly, massive BAF. He’s going to be fun to put together.

I have an extra Worthy Cap and Beast I’m putting up on my BST thread.

In good news, they arrived:

In bad news, the paint job on Quicksilver and Magneto is a mess.

More good news though, all three have excellent paint apps on their heads.

Countering that with additional badnews, Magneto's wrist peg broke right out of the box and Scarlet Witch has a loose knee.

As such, I'm having Amazon send me a replacement in the hope the next one will be better, or at least parts of it will be since I can mix and match.

On the positive side, the figure sculpts are fantastic. I do feel the Quicksilver head is just a tad bigger than it should be, but the Magneto heads and SW head are down right amazing. I did notice that the raging Magneto head seems to be thinner than the regular head, which is odd. Even the helmet is slimmer. Nevertheless, and despite the paint issues, this Magneto easily puts the Toy Biz one to shame and the Apocalypse wave one.

I'm considering selling my BAF Monster Venom, but it's missing the arm that came with Scream. What do you guys think would be a good price to charge? Is anyone here interested?

With all of the talk the other week about dioramas, I decided to make one of my own. I made a simple brick wall with a black top base that could fit inside of my light box. Since I'm new to this, I decided to skip the battle damage and cracks most people put in their dios. I still need to do some work on the edges to make them presentable but it's pretty much done at this point.

Not sure why this one was so bright.

The 3 pack

Quicksilver - Mine has the paint app issues, and a frozen calf swivel, even after heating it, it still won't budge. I think his hair could use some white dry brushing too.

Scarlet Witch -
I like her, I want to like her more but I really wish they'd have retool the neck, the cape plus the hair sculpt make her head pop off super easy

Magneto - Aside from a spots were the red bleeds through the purple ,I think he's my favorite part of the set

Jeebus, with all the legends arriving in quick succession I have no idea where everything is going to go. I have 11 ikea glass cabinets and 90% is taken over by legends (Aliens have one , the Japan imports have the other and my Disney imports have the last one.
No room for Mezco, DC, Figmas, Figuarts etc etc. They are peppered all over the house.
I either move to a bigger house (which I cannot afford,) or start selling stuff. It's a Sophie's choice.
I'd love to do a visual gallery before I get rid of half of it. I just need a month off to do it.

Re: Family matters trio.

I have the same QC problems. Bad paint apps. On top of it The Witch's left fringe is almost covering her right eye. On the plus side, her headdress is aligned which would have bother me more.

Most of my stuff stays in boxes and bins stashed around the house (under beds, in closets etc.). I've committed to displaying fewer figures and routinely swapping them with stored figures when the mood strikes me.

Damn it, why are they selling them as a two-pack, not individually? It’s frustrating because I really want the Collector, but absolutely don’t need a second Grandmaster.

That's understandable. I'm actually very much okay with this because I was debating on getting the Korg/Grandmaster set as I don't have an interest in Korg but sort of wanted the Grandmaster. Of course, that all depends on if I can actually snag one.

Fortunately on the flip side, it's not something I wanted SO much that I'm going to waste away for it if I don't get it.

I really don't understand Hasbro sometimes.

Why is the same Grandmaster figure being released in two separate 2-packs with two different characters around the same time? Why not just do a Collector/Howard the Duck 2-pack or something?

It's not the same figure though. This Grandmaster is smiling.

We should just be happy Hasbro hasn't done any major packs for important comic characters this year.

Thank god that's an exclusive I'll pass on. I'd rather get the Grandmaster/Korg version, keep Korg, and give Grandmaster to my friend for her Jeff Goldblum collection Now here's hoping there's no Transformers SDCC exclusives to be revealed that are must-haves (or, god forbid, Overwatch)

The Family Matters pack arrived yesterday, and my god is it gorgeous. There's a few nitpicks regarding Magneto (some minor red fade-through on purple spots) and Quicksilver (a little bit of white paint slop/fuzziness on the back apps), but overall these are three must-haves for the collection. I'm just glad that, for dropping "early," they landed literally the day after payday, so we wouldn't have to delay them.

For the record, Pietro's head fits on Eric's body, so if you want an even younger no-helmet Magneto to display, it looks great.

Now that we have the perfect Wanda, I'm kinda regretting not picking up Vintage-wave Vision. Ahhh well, c'est la vie. I might be able to grab him later.

My hat is off to Hasbro for Scarlet Witch's face sculpt, one of the best 1:12 scale female face sculpts I've ever seen.

Yeah got mine yesterday and all 3 figures are must have for me. Pretty much the definitive version of each character.

And I second the 80th anniversary line making me broke. For the most part they are all home runs.

See, I’m a definite yes on the Korg set, so this is some frustrating double-dipping to me. Now I’m trying to decide if the Collector justifies the pricepoint.
