Looks great! I actually prefer that to the Original as well but You can probably get a good pair of Glasses from Neca Gordon freeman.

Blind Fury was a great spin on the classic Zatoichi tale. Love the chase scene where he's driving.
My favorite Rutger Hauer stuff was from his time doing films for HBO. I loved "Wedlock" and "Fatherland." Really showed off his range as an actor. "Hobo With A Shotgun" was pretty damn epic as well and is a guilty pleasure of mine. RIP Mr. Hauer and Godspeed. In less depressing news, I've made it no secret that I hated the headsculpt on the recent Legends Beast, and after seeing this re-sculpted one featured on a recent Fwoosh YouTube vid, I had to get my hands on it. Just need to cook up a pair of glasses now. ![]() It would have been nice if Hasbro had given us this in the first place, but I'm much, much happier with the figure now, as in hand, the paintwork and craftsmanship on the re-sculpted parts is pretty incredible.

Beast's head is probably too wide compared to Gordon's. My idea (cheap idea that is) would be to take some thin copper wire and a thin rod (like a screwdriver) and wrap the wire around the rod to make each lens, this also allows for direct control over the size of the bridge and overall frame.

Not much luck out finding the new 80th Anniversary singles and sets. I did find the X-Men retro wave scattered across multiple GameStops, but absolutely no sign of Dazzler and Storm at any store. Left Cyclops & Wolverine, but snagged Forge & Madrox as consolation prizes. The hunt continues!

^ I think it will be impossible to find Vintage Storm at Gamestop... I think all of them are already taken by pre-orders. I was at a local Gamestop that just got in a box... it had 7 Storms and 3 other Vintage figures... all the Storms were for pre-orders.
I don't really want a white version Storm though... to me Storm should be all in black and only Emma Frost should be all in white. I was hoping SDCC would reveal a black outfit Storm, but no dice. And damn... that Beast headsculpt is great. |

She is. She's like the Mysterio of the wave. The only time I ever saw her in stores.

I've seen Jubilee a number of times. Beast has easily been the one I've seen the least in the Caliban wave but even then I've seen him twice now. It's not surprising that Skullbuster and Forge are the two that stick around. It merits repeating that obviously different areas will have different experiences and this is me sharing mine.

I think Skullbuster being the least popular is probably a universal constant. In most waves there's a fairly obscure villain you can usually count on not lighting the sales charts on fire (like any of the Serpent Squad members they keep chugging out).

I know I am lol. I have an idea for more hair.
Finally grabbed the other parts to make Shadow King. Now I have to get hands for him. Which ones fit more appearances? The Caliban hands or Monster Venom? Last edited by Nutimus Prime; 07-25-2019 at 02:47 AM.. |

I use the hands from Select Venom (the newest one) a lot more hand options (fist/big claw/little claw) and the pegs, while not as long or exact a fit as the ML BAF parts, fit into the holes nice and snug. Only thing you might want to do is use some nail polish remover to take the white squares off the hands...

I don't get why they didn't go for the original New Mutants outfits. I supposed these pop more.
They should have done a deluxe package with Dani's belt and boots and Valkyrie crown, Karma with head effect, ( I like your one Bo), and long hair (to reproduce her in the Asgard adventures), two Magma's heads (alight and not), and Wolsbane with xtra fur pieces somewhere. Now that would have been perfect. It's always a case of close but not quite. Still, I never though we would get Karma, so it will have to do. Re: Rutger Hauer I saw Blad Runner as a child, and I probably seen it a hundred times. Together with Alien, they are my fave films. Shame we never got any figures of that movie. I did get a Chinese knock-off 20 years ago, which cost me a small fortune then, and I treasure like gold. Even if the body is a disaster. R.I.P. Mr Hauer. Have fun in Tanhauser. |

I'm kinda okay with these new New Mutants costumes to be honest....it's simple and basic enough that it captures the overall vibe of the OG New Mutants costumes. Would I have preferred the classic look? Absolutely. But these will more than get the job done, especially since it can cover for 3 (possibly 4, depending on how Magik's parts fit on this buck) characters.
Since the Strong Guy BAF is speculated to be part of a Deadpool assortment, I thought up what I think is a pretty decent wave. I'm assuming Strong Guy's upper torso will come in two parts, similar to Monster Venom and Molten Man, due to his bulk. That would make it a 7 figure wave: Kidpool (Obligatory Deadpool variant #1) Evil Deadpool (Obligatory Deadpool variant #2) 90s Domino Classic Warpath/Thunderbird (alternate head sculpts) Fantomex Lady Deathstrike Shaman BAF: Strong Guy |

I used the Caliban hands. They were easier to buy.

I have Space Venom hands that I was going to use, but decided not to. I made a normal faced Farouk instead. I started to modify the pegs to fit already. You can have them for the price of shipping.

I've been patiently waiting for him to hit clearance price. I hear some people have found him for $5. That's ideally what I'd like to pay for him but I most likely would pick him up for around $10. |

Deadpool Variant 2 (I really don't care what version LOL, I don't get the Deadpool waves for Deadpool.) Siryn Copycat OR X-Factor Wolfsbane or Feral, simply because I refuse to knock Siryn off the list. Sunspot Warpath Black Tom Cassidy |
