I'm not impressed, they should have gone with the costume from the Winter Solider storyline for Crossbones like the one from the Ares wave, and as for the other two, I was hoping for Abyss or Mikail Rasputin or an updated Holocaust, and I'm still waiting for a 90's X-Factor Wolfsbane.

Don’t need another Sunfire.
I wish it looked somewhat different from the old version. |

Be careful when looking at those. I’ve seen 3 different packs and on all three Jean grey’s eyes have been painted terrible on the ponytailed head. Like cross eyed. One had her left eye nearly painted on the side of her head. Hopefully this is just me finding unlucky picks and not a trend

We still may get Mikail or Abyss. Who knows. With 90's nostalgia picking up steam they may make AoA two waves. We can hope. |

I'm guessing that the last 2 AoA figures are going to be Cyclops and Rogue

YES to Crossbones!
Not too familiar with WildChild and I do like the AoA Sunfire, but I still prefer my Classic Sunfire. |

There's gonna be a lot of 90s figures to skip this year. My wallet is glad.

I think a 2099 wave, or 2, would be awesome. Doom, Punisher, etc. with a Hulk 2099 BAF would rock hard. My kids inherited my old ToyBiz figures and just the other day my son was asking about my Bloodhawk figure. |

And it looks like he's not a BAf. Great!

Classic Crossbones looks neat but really that AoA Sunfire is what's getting me hyped.

I’m planning on skipping the Age of Apocalypse waves, but I might have to get that Wild Child for the Alpha Flight shelf.

Wow some interesting reveals today! Was expecting the AOA wave to be filled out with Sabretooth, Magneto, Rogue and Jean. We have two spots left so I imagine it'll be from that group, or possibly Cyclops.
Sunfire needed to be done, I have the exclusive but many do not, so I get it. Wild Child is a decent choice IF we get Sabretooth. I may also use him for X-Factor, since he was in the post-Peter David run, and even though none of the outfits are correct, all we lack from that now is Shard. I'm absolutely convinced we'll get 2 dedicated AOA waves, along with some packs, so I'm not sweating it yet about characters not included/revealed. Though I may be a year from now, because I imagine they're doing this due to it being the 25th anniversary, and once next year is done, they'll leave it in the dust. Crossbones is a pass for me, but I do think he's a decent character. I have the 2009 version AND the one that came in the SDCC Thunderbolts set. I really don't need another Crossbones. If he is part of the Black Widow wave - and I can't imagine he isn't - that wave is looking more like mostly a pass for me. Which is good because i have a feeling I"m going to be spending a lot on X-Men product next year. |

I was in high school when AOA event happened. No one I knew was a fan. None in my friend circle, or at the comic book stores. Everyone was eager for the return to normal. I'm kinda surprised there are so many excited people here.
Making me wonder... Will the Spider-Clone Saga get a wave? Norman Osborn build-a-figure... Aunt May, Blonde Oreilly Spider-Man, Kaine, melting Spider-clone... Spidercide? Judas Traveller? maybe a 2pc box set of Peter's synthoid parents? lol

The art was ridiculously over the top 90s, but as a storyline, I can't think of anything from outside of Claremont's run that has held up as well. Sure, X-ecutioner's song and Messiah Complex are great, but I think generally they aren't as well regarded. And FWIW, that's NOT just IMO. ![]() (Personally, Inferno doesn't get half the love it deserves and is the best crossover and hell, I'll even say it, BEST storyline from the X-men mythos, and that IS just IMO) Last edited by Captain Nash; 11-01-2019 at 03:25 PM.. |

I think SABERTOOTH will be in the AOA wave since he held Wild child's chain. Has he been revealed? I have not paid attention to the AOA stuff as I won't be picking that wave up. Saves me money and room on the shelves.

I get where you're coming from, but I wouldn't be. It isn't this way across every poll or list, but AoA is typically regarded in the upper echelons of X-men stories there is, often in the top 2 or 3 - DPS being #1 of course and DOFP oftentimes being up there as well.

I'm not a fan of AoA, but in the way of anecdotal experiences that may or may not mean anything, your observation of the fandom surrounding the story is consistent with mine own. I have not met many X-fans that share my sentiments of general "meh" about the event. The general consensus is that AoA was a bigger better version of DoFP. I don't agree with that notion, but I've always found myself in the minority regarding that opinion.
That's a very safe bet. B: AOA Sabretooth is ABSOLUTELY, DEFINITELY coming. Maybe not wave 1, maybe as a BAF, but there is no way they're rounding out this event without making an AOA Sabretooth. I will eat my shorts if they don't. Quote:
My thoughts exactly. I’m not faulting marvel for making this if there is demand.
When I read these, there was no feedback about comics other than friends. Wizard magazine loved everything so they weren’t reliable critics, and there wasn’t any dialogue on the Internet. Only online was message boards through libraries that were probably blue dots, or AOL’s very limited chat rooms. So from my personal experience, it was always a joke. I guess the fact that in 12 years Fox never adapted it into a film reinforced that belief. Well, for all of you that love this, I am totally thrilled for you. The AoA designs were definitely colorful and busy, so they really were created to be toys. I look forward to seeing how creative our members will display them. |

AoA had good plotting, but the titular villain of the event failed to live up to my expectations of him. Apocalypse was enigmatic and weighty when set up in the earlier X-Factor series. By the time we got to AoA, he felt like your typical cardboard cut out despot surrounded by laughable cronies - well, with the exception of Nemesis/Holocaust whom I liked. I feel stories involving En Sabah Nur, both before and after, were more successful in portraying the character. Just my opinion. Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 11-01-2019 at 05:15 PM.. |

Agreed on that period, at the very least, seeming halcyonic. I was in college for nearly half of the 90's and took that period off from books for 'party and bullshit!' HAHA! Good times. At the time, the writing for nearly everything, save Surfer, seemed trite to me. Truth be told, Surfer wasn't much better, it was just the one book I stayed on top off while in school and he happens to be my favorite hero - along with Spidey.
