I am content with the Galactus, Sentinels and Giant Man that I currently have. For the record, I have the Toy Biz Giant Man. But I could be tempted if a product looks really good. If something is carrying around a Haslab price tag, I'd most likely stop at one. So I would hope that we'd get either Galactus or Giant Man. Army building Sentinels at that price would be too out of my range. Now if it were Master Mold... well, that'd a a different story.

Like the easy-peasy classic Sunspot- Amara here was "mostly" already made- Scream with regular hands and an old Toybiz Phoenix head I finally found a use for. Some yellow paint, some red paint... She'll do until Hasbro gives us a proper version... And now with all my New Mutants about ready- I can make another video. Woo!

@Bo
That's the best Magma custom I've seen. It looks very painstaking. I might try it when I get a few days off. In the meantime I'm putting Old Emma's head on the Dani body. Paint lips and eyes yellow orange and some dry brushing on the hair and stick Binary's and old Human Torch effects to it. I quite like having all the New Mutants ladies on the same outfit. It looks good against a sea of colour. |

Not been in the mood to type, so here are my two cents about the AoA wave.
It seems to be quite divisive depending if folks read it in its time or not. I didn't. I think I got the occasional issue and hate it. I gave up X-men after Jim Lee I think. But looking at the pics of the figures, I won't deny they look great. And make good toys. So I will get them all. Love the X-men in just about any outfit, plus it's great to compare them next to each other. But... I won't be feeling the urge to get them straight away as I felt toward the Dani/Rahne/Shi'an set or the upcoming X-factor, Jean Grey set or my most wanted in a very long time, Alpha Flight. |

About the Spider-man wave, I pre ordered Shang-Chi, White Rabbit and Vulture.
Shang-Chi is very 70's and I love that. I read his comic drawn by Paul Gulacy back in the 80's, and I adored it. Might read it all again. Just wish it came with his jacket too. White Rabbit I only know from that one issue in Marvel-team-up where she first appeared. But, she's so wacko design, it's a must. Also I'm planning to get more as presents as I know big Alice In Wonderland fans. Now, Vulture. I didn't think I needed another one, as the toybiz one is perfection...in the sculpt. Unfortunately those over-articulated toys, as cool as they look, can't stand for s#!+. But what swung me over was the xtra head, so I can have both in display. Spider-man has the funniest, coolest enemies because of the animal thing. Just cannot wait for Frog-man, The Fly, Madame Web, and yes, a new Tarantula would be very cool. |

And about the Fanrastic Four wave... That's pretty much pre-ordered. I'm not reading the new FF comic -I got bored- but I like the outfits. A lot of thought has gone into them. It's not easy to make the FF cool after all these years. But the small changes look great. Happy to add them.
I will admit I haven't bought a Dr. Doom since the toybiz one. They did not improved bastly, and the Marvel Select was too big. Happy to finally update him. Super-skrull needed an update, big time, plus the old one cost a fortune and a half. Plus he looks awesome. Now...She-hulk. I get the whole, "why can't we get a decent She- hulk?", and the why not in a FF outfit? Etc. I totally agree. I love the figure they'd made. She looks great. But they also know most fans would like a John Byrne looking one, with different heads for cheeky and pissed out, not to mention a FF outfit variant. That thing that came in the A-Force was not alive. Anyway, that grey She-hulk will be next to my grey Hulk, so that's good. |

Havok and Polaris arrived today not a bad set except for Havok's baby hands and those straps. My Polaris's legs were completely warped as well had to take the heat gun and untwist them

Speaking of which... found the Jean Grey 3 pack at Gamestop... paying 10 dollars more than everywhere else sucks, but the 3 pack is legit awesome. I like both Jean heads... her X belt is badly painted on mine, but thankfully everything else in the pack looks great. Cyclops with the brown jacket and dark blue and bright yellow colors with the red sunglasses headsculpt just looks so awesome (glad to have the Warlock wave regular version too though). And that Wolvie is also awesome... the dark blue and bright yellow colors again looks so good compared to the orangish yellow and bright blue of the Apocalypse wave Wolvie... and finally there is a nice looking unmasked Wolvie headsculpt that I can use too. Plus, I can give one of the masked heads to my 1st appearance Wolverine, so it is like I got 2 Wolverine figs... best Legends set by far IMO. Also found a MIB MU classic colors Sentinel for 50 bucks at a local specialty shop... I regret passing on them at $28 at ROSS back during Christmas time 2012/2013... or which ever year it was that I saw them. |

Well these guys came in pretty fast from Pulse:
![]() I paid for them on Monday, they shipped them on Tuesday, and they're already here. My initial impressions so far are they're cool, but not ground breaking. The Havok hands don't bother me in person as much as they did in the pictures on line, but they still look off. They're too small or maybe the arms are too big. Either way, having some sort of glove piece would have really made a difference. Polaris' face sculpt looks great, but her lower arms seem to be bigger than they should be too. Oh, and the left leg is extremely loose and I have no idea how to remove it so I can use some polish on the joint. I'm going to have to heat up her feet though as the swivels are frozen.

there was a five year dead period between 1986 (end of comics & cartoons) and 1991 (Heir to the Empire) where the only media was the RPG. Those were dark times.

actually the Star Wars craze back then faded right at 1984 or 1985 when i was a kid. at the time it was pretty much G.I. Joe, Transformers, Looney Tunes, Alf, Friday the 13th Part 4 and 5, HBO showing Fraggle Rock and The Hitcher.
Back then Star Wars was dead from 1984 to 1991 anyway |

...you know, one of the things that I think X-Men Evolution did better was having Amara be ethnically Brazilian, instead of that "I come from a hidden Roman colony Selene founded once upon a time that really should have collapsed due to lack of genetic variety but whatever" explanation for her being white

Brazil enjoys a mixture of cultures, but a large portion of Brazilians do consider themselves to be ethnically "white." There's a long complex history, but as an African American I've learned not to even make cultural assumptions about "black" Brazilians regarding pan-African ties and sensibilities...as I said earlier, it's complex and steeped in an equally complicated history involving the Portuguese and the slave trade.

I ordered the new She-Hulk. I'm a sucker for different color Hulks. I know she was gray on the comcs for a bit, but I didn't read it so I'm not sure why she was that way. Like you, she'll be next to gray Hulk. Quote:

(And that's not even getting into Amara spending time disguised as an indigenous Brazilian with one of the rainforest's tribes) Either way, I find the Evo version more memorable, and not just because of her appearance, but also her personality, relationships, and neat little quirks (like her becoming physically ailed when on a ship, having been away from land for too long). In the comics, Magma's always felt kinda... just there, when compared to the other New Mutants. Nothing really stood out about her, to me. Most of what comes to mind when thinking about her is more in relation to other characters and what they did to her (Selene, Empath) than anything directly about her. Having said all that. The Magma custom there is fan-friggin'-tastic.

Oh, I know, but again. They made her explicitly Roman from a hidden Roman colony deep in the Brazilian rainforest, founded in 44 BC. Which just... the times we've been shown the place, like 95% of the population is very white, and stated to be direct descendants of the Romans that settled there. Which, without outsiders adding to the genetic pool, just becomes nonviable. The whole thing is just... poorly planned and clumsily handled, at best.

A hairdryer or heat gun works too. But those can be a bit rough on some paints. I've never had any issues at with water. After that just apply your polish and pop it back together. |

My only point was that there are many Brazilians that consider themselves to be white (roughly half, actually), but I now know you are aware of that fact... |

lol yeah, I hear you. In my opinion, the whole concept of "black" and "white" Brazilians revolves around a similar distortion of history, but not being Brazilian myself, I'm largely ambivalent.
