Picked up my third Cuckoo today at Walgreens tonight. Thanks to all in the Middle TN area for mentioning that you were finding them locally. I had picked up two yesterday and considered getting all three last night but I didn't want to go up to the register with a stack of school girl figures. It just felt weird. Thankfully the third was still waiting for me.

When I was calling Walmarts last year looking for the Corvus set I had to describe it as Loki and a goblin-looking guy with a spear, it's not exactly the same situation but it's still interesting to try and describe these things to employees who don't give a damn.

Yeah the look I got when I got my two the other day was definitely judgemental. I don't care, money talks.

Yeah, the 30 minutes every Walgreens exclusive is up for sale on their website usually corresponds with my being at work, blissfully unaware I could be frantically pounding my keyboard to convert money into plastic school girls.

Have there been any rumors about the next Walgreens exclusive?

Weird request, can anyone post a side-by-side of the arm length/width of the Bucky-Cap body and the Spider-UK body? Looking to see if Prowler can donate his arms for a custom so it'd help to get a visual

The more I think about this, the more I'm left wondering where was the fear of judgement/tacit embarrassment when the characters were introduced in the comics? There was no mistaking that they were shameless American versions of the same sexually objectified Japanese school girl trope. Now before anyone rushes to rationalize/intellectualize an answer...know that I don't care. I'm half serious and opining on what may, or may not represent a schism between fandom and the often ballyhooed progressive values of today. I've never really cared for the characters. Not merely because I noted the obvious (to me, at least) sexism from the start, but mostly because I've never been a fan of clone story-devices... |

Ok guys I completely admit I do not understand modern toys as well as I do the old series stuff from my childhood. Everyone seems high on the Marvel Legends but I don't understand if there are different scales or just one larger scale (I prefer smaller scale like old TMNT or Toybiz X-men from the 90's scale as they take up less room).

Basically I'm a huge X-Men fan and collect the old Toybiz figures from the 90's. I'd consider getting some marvel legends X-Men but have been confused by some looking more comic and some being Toybiz style figures like the ones in the attached photos. Are there only a few of these or is there a whole series of Toybiz themed X-Men figures for Legends?

Looking to maybe get core characters (Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Beast, Jubilee, Jean Grey, Magneto, Sinister, Juggernaut, Sabertooth, Colossus, Iceman, Archangel/Angel, Bishop, Cable, Nightcrawler, Pyro, Blob, Avalanche, Mystique, Havok) Basically old favs from the show and comics. Can some toysplain me what is going on here and possibly point me to a resource where I can see these figures.....Thanks so much! Pictures and suggestions are most welcome!
I would start by checking Dorksidetoys. They have several of the figures you listed, either new in box or loose. Also checking your local Gamestops. |

Look who I came across tonight at Walmart:
![]() Good god, She-Hulk is going to be a bitch to find, isn't she? And all I want her for are for the Skrull parts, not for the figure itself. Ugh. On the positive side, it was cool finding the whole family at one time. I really like the new head sculpt for this Thing, though I don't get why some parts of him have a yellowy color to him while other parts do not. It looks odd. Furthermore, his upper torso also seems frozen, or at least, very tight, so I have this big gap between his chest and stomach. Mr Fantastic is surprinsingly... well... fantastic. I like him a lot more than I thought I would. Sue is cool thanks to the excellent headsculpt and her accessory. Johnny's cool too, but I do wish the head was compatible with the other one. What I have for the Super Skrull so far seems cool. Unfortunately, I've got a couple fo QC issues. The peg on the right hand for Reed and the shoulder peg for the regular Skrull arm are frozen, so I'm going to have to heat them up. Additionally, there's this really bad yellow paint splotch on the grinning Skrull head's eyebrow, so I can't display him with that head. For the most part, I do like them, but I'm starting to have a bit of buyer's remorse over them. I should have saved that $80. Oh well, buy now regret later.

It's a shame Walgreens exclusives have been so hard to find. Otherwise those would be a perfect place for FA Storm and Shadowcat. But with there being an overall trend (Cuckoos notwithstanding) of getting hard and harder to find them, I definitely would rather they come out another way.

1) Cyclops, Jean, and Wolverine come in a three-pack which is currently pretty available for around MSRP (about $20/figure), but isn't sold in big-box stores. If you want Cyclops without a jacket, he was released as a single-pack in the Warlock wave but will be expensive. If you prefer brown costume Wolverine, there's a retro version that's a few years old but not too expensive, or a slightly older version from the Juggernaut wave that's much more expensive. 2) Storm in white 90s outfit will run you a little more than MSRP and you should act fast if you want her. She's part of a retro X-Men wave that came out last year. Iceman was part of this wave too, but is currently cheap and easy to find, largely because of a relatively common defect that puts a long line running down his face. If you prefer Storm's 90s costume in black, there's a repaint coming out in the next month or so, not sold in big box stores. 3) Beast and Jubilee came out last year in the Caliban wave (along with Gambit and Forge), but are very hard to find. Beast will probably run you around $40 right now. 4) Magneto comes from an Amazon-exclusive three-pack with Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, which is available currently. 5) Sinister and Nightcrawler are widely available from the Wendigo wave that came out late last year. 6) Juggernaut and Colossus come together in a two-pack, and are reasonably widely available right now. A slightly different version of Juggernaut was the build-a-figure from the 2016 wave. I think this retails for $50 because of the size of the characters, though. 7) Sabretooth is probably starting to get hard to find. He came out in 2018's Apocalypse wave. 8) Archangel was a 2018 deluxe figure, not sold in big box stores. He's still available for $30-$35. 9) Bishop and Cable came out in different Deadpool-themed 2018 waves, Sauron and Sasquatch, respectively. Cable is starting to get expensive. Bishop might be too. 10) Mystique was a Walgreens exclusive from early last year. She's starting to get expensive. 11) Havok is widely available as part of a two-pack with Polaris, not sold in big box stores. Since Legends was slightly rebranded as the Infinite series, there have been X-Men waves with the following BAFs: vampire Jubilee (2014), Juggernaut (2016), Warlock (2017), Apocalypse (2018), and Caliban (2019). There have been two Deadpool waves, both in 2018, with Sasquatch and Sauron as the BAFs. There was an X-Force wave last year with Wendigo as the BAF, and there was also a retro X-Men wave last year on Toybiz-style cards with no BAF. This year we so far know about another Deadpool wave coming out with Strong Guy as the BAF, and an Age of Apocalypse wave with a currently unknown BAF. Beyond that, there have been: 1) a number of fan-channel exclusives, which just means they aren't sold to Target or Walmart, but they're carried by online vendors, local brick-and-mortar stores, and Game Stop. Those include: Archangel, cowboy Wolverine, X-Force Deathlok, Deadpool/Hit Monkey two-pack, Cyke/Jean/Wolvie three-pack, Havok/Polaris two-pack, retro Deadpool, and the upcoming black-costume retro Storm. 2) a few Amazon exclusives: Days of Future Past Logan/Sentinel two-pack, Magneto family three-pack, and Alpha Flight five-pack. 3) a few Walgreens exclusives: Magik, Mystique, Emma Frost, Dani Moonstar/Karma/Wolfsbane figure (can be displayed as any of the three), and the Stepford Cuckoos. 4) a few deluxe two-packs: Colossus/Juggernaut and Hulk/Wolverine. 5) the Riders series, deluxe figures with vehicles: Professor X, Wolverine, and Deadpool. 6) a few older Toys-'R-Us exclusives: Cyclops/Dark Phoenix two-pack and All-New X-Men five-pack. 7) A Red Onslaught BAF from an Avengers wave, for which the regular Onslaught head comes wih Kitty Pryde (from the Juggernaut wave) and a Kingpin BAF from a Spider-Man wave, for which an alternate Shadow King head comes with Professor X. And that's it for X-Men from the current series. This is all off the top of my head, so I might have missed something, but hopefully this helps! It's not a visual gallery, but I hope it makes Googling pictures easier. There are older X-Men figures from the pre-Infinite Hasbro and Toy Biz days, but I'm afraid they're beyond the scope of my attention. Good luck! |

I just wanted Kl'rt, Doom & Ben. I sold off the other 3 members of the FF for $50 & got SS right arms on ebay for $16. Also replaced Kl'rt's lower legs with Captain Universe lower legs & now he's as tall as 80th anniv Cap & Ironman.

I know I said I'd post what I had to share with the board, so these are what I came up with. BAF parts, etc. Trading for Bro Thor heads or Evil Dead and They Live stuff, or I'll sell them for cheap (remember shipping). I used to go by DogFashionDisco way back in the day, and my rep is solid. Let me know what you want, I am extremely fair on trades and prices. Heck, I'd sell the whole lot for a decent price. My contribution to the community.

Anyone want to trade on some of the new FF figures without BAF’s? I want Skrull, and a squad of minions but not those FF figs, specifically Sue and Ben.

I know you said you don't care, BUUUUUUT it's likely because when they were first introduced, they... weren't dressed that way. The schoolgirl outfits didn't come into play until... around Schism, iirc. I know they first appeared the way the Legends figure depicts them when they were students with the Scott/Emma/Magneto/Magik team. Before that, their outfits were either high-fashion casual teen, or trainee outfits of various sorts.
![]() Yes, I'm aware that their very first outfits were more vogue'ish, however, it took a matter of 'minutes' for artists to settle them into the sexualized school girl trope they're now known for and it stuck...hence the fig design. A week or two back you took issue with a joke made that sexualized them. It felt a bit extra IMO because these characters have always been sexualized and the animus generated might be more appropriately aimed at Marvel rather than someone just picking up on what the publisher established...'nah mean? This is also why I believe it to be odd that there's shame felt when purchasing them. We all know the deal with the sexy school girl trope...if you feel pervy buying them now that they've received a Legends berth, then ya' should have felt pervy reading stories featuring them as well... I don't feel pervy. I feel judged. This is not the look I think of when I think of the Cuckoos, and it's not the look I would've preferred, but I don't have a problem with it, it certainly isn't going to get in the way of my picking up new X-Men figures, and I didn't have a problem with it in the comics, because they were at a school and other students were wearing uniforms too. My issue is that employees at Walgreens don't have any of that context. They just see a middle-aged dude buying schoolgirl toys.

Lol fair enough, but I wouldn't worry too much about the judgements of others. Unless you truly believe there might be something wrong or offensive in what you are doing or buying, then there might be some reflection to do, but short of that they can kick rocks.
...and there's always the internet. ![]() Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 01-29-2020 at 05:17 PM.. |

You know, the secondary prices have been pretty tame lately...but, then again, we're talking Xmen merch and I'm not really in the market for these particular x-characters, so I don't know what the rates are.
