that is for sure the reveals tomorrow I bet. Phage looks interesting but I'm only half and half on it. Easy pass on the rest. I can't think of a wave where I haven't gotten at least one figure out of it, so this may be the first. But hey, it's for someone!

Yeah. So, um... Wow, there are no words. No Shriek or Carrion? Really? I'm not surprised by Movie Venom, but since the sequel's postponed, this is an odd time to release it and the rest of this wave. The Maximum Venom figures were easy passes anyway, but that Morbius... woof. Man, that's a huge disappointment. And the new Carnage looks like a 2018 re-release without the Cletus Kasady head, so that's a huge pass.
Is it wrong that I already want to get back to wishlists and anticipating what the next Marvel Legends reveals would be? After all, Dan Yun promised more reveals in August and told us to "hold on to our cereal bowls", so I'm sure they've got some kind of big reveal(s) planned for the month we're not aware of. But these Venom photos... well... meh. |

Overall thoughts:
- Carnage seems very slapdash, almost like a movie version was planned, and they had to hold him back. - Gwen & Miles are not variants I have interest in, all though they are objectively well-made figures. - Jesus, movie Venom does not translate well into action figure form. - Morbius is legitimately one of the worse looking figures I’ve seen, Harbinger nailed the comparison. Face also has shades of Uncle Deadly from “the Muppets” or the Carny Mutant from “the Funhouse.” - Phage looks cool, I just happen to not care about the Life Foundation symbiotes. - Venompool is utterly absurd, but really well executed. Not something I need though, especially as the wave around him is in the running for my overall least favorite. ... bet you all tree fiddy that that’s tomorrow’s reveal. On a good note Dan Yun said something on twitter about upping the ante since these got leaked, so hopefully there will be more tomorrow than these I don't think it's a Target exclusive, I have mine pre-ordered on Pulse. |

Carnage again? The Ultimate Goblin wave figure got me into Legends and I picked up the redo from the first Venom wave because the Cletus head and weapon-hands were done well but I don't see how Hasbro could get me to buy a third, even if he's on a newer body with more articulation.
Movie Venom just looks plain there. Did they overdo the color on the veins or is it just me?

@hasbroherofan - I know they had stuff to postpone and they had to put out something. On second thought, I guess this makes the most sense since they have the Maximum Venom story on their current Spider-Man cartoon and being in stores in time for Halloween. But the character selection doesn't work for me. Why not make it a solid Maximum Venom wave to go along with Ghost Spider and Miles, or a Maximum Carnage comic based wave to match the Carnage and Morbius figures? There are plenty of characters to do a whole wave for either version and having a movie Venom and Phage tossed in just makes the overall new Venom wave seem like more of a patchwork than an actual wave.
And man, that Morbius is extremely disappointing. I keep looking at it to try to say anything nice about it -- and I just can't. I'm curious if there will be a Q&A or verbal reveals to go with the Venom reveals tomorrow for the Fan First Tuesday, because these reveals are a bit disappointing. |

What did you expect out of a Jared Leto action figure. At least it doesn’t have a stupid tattoo on it’s forehead.
The Venom movie figure isn’t so bad. Phage looks pretty freaking awesome. I’m full up on Carnage rereleases. They’re going to the well one too many times there. I could careless about the other two, and I knew that for a while. BAF looks solid. I knew we would be seeing that one sooner than later. |

I’m fairly certain that Morbius is comic based, not based on the upcoming movie. Also, from this close-up shot, Carnage does look pretty sweet:

@Ultra Seven - Oh, he's definitely comic book based. That was Morbius' look during "Maximum Carnage". It's such a shame his head sculpt turned out so bad.

I dont collect Spider-man or symbiote characters so this wave was always going to be a pass for me. I am surprised that they do not really look good though. Most of the figures recently I have been impressed by even if I had no intention of getting them. Wow, that Carnage just really misses it for me. And why just another regular looking Carnage when any of the Knull/Absolute Carnage designs could look so cool?
I really do hope they have a sursprise or two up their sleeves for tomorrow, since I suspect this wave was their reveal. I'm also excited for whatever tease they have planned because Im sure they intended to give us something as a tease even before the leak. Perhaps another hint of the Stilt-man BAF? Or a tease about the Iron man stuff they said was upcoming? As for future news, I am ready too to know more since this wave is not for me, lol. I bet next month we get info about a Pulse exclusive Hellfire goon to go with the info about preordering the HFC set that we know is supposed to be coming in September. Maybe we will even get some more info about this "Best of" wave. I can see them showing us the Rogue they seem to be teasing, but I could even handle just knowing if its going to be straight repacks (like some of those UK exclusive repack waves we have seen) or if its going to be primarily reissues with updates/minor changes/redecos and maybe a couple new things more like the retro waves. I would even take a complete list of who is coming in that wave even if we didnt see any of it, but thats wishful thinking. I could see October being when we see reveals for a Gamerverse wave 2 if that is really happening. It would be about a month after the games release, and about the right time/order to see more Avengers figures after all the Spidey/Venom/X-men reveals lately. |

I think Hasbro may be overestimating the popularity of Venom... it is like when they made all those Venomized Funko Pops that nobody bought. Perhaps they need to stop trying to make Venom as popular as Spiderman. If they need more Spidey stuff to sell just do all the Into the Spider-verse versions of everyone. Morbius kinda looks cool though.

Yaaaaaawn....that's another complete wave I ain't getting. Neither Venom nor the Symbiote universe are that popular imo, Marvel & Hasbro are wasting plastic on these big time. Lemme know when a classic comic based Iron man wave is made.

Sign me up for that Venom wave. Phage (we're so close! Finish that team Hasbro!) Midnight Sons Morbius? Yes please! Movie Venom? Yes to that As well. The Carnage was definitely not needed, but for all we know this could be how he appears in the film...plus the raised tendrils on the mold hit that Toybiz nostalgia button for me. No feelings towards Miles or Gwen, but they are neat designs and I've bought worse this year (looking at you Black Tom Cassidy...) The one thing that triggers me...the Venompool. Seriously? We get a movie Venom...a possible movie Carnage, but no BAF Riot that could work as either a movie or comic version? All you would need are different headsculpts...something about a single stone and two birds. Plus you would have people trying to complete two BAFs to complete their movie AND comic displays. Come on Hasbro...we JUST GOT a Deadpool wave...and now Venom has to share a wave with YET ANOTHER Deadpool? Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 08-17-2020 at 08:27 PM.. |

Hmmm...I actually don't mind this wave at all.
Getting it out the way, I don't care about Venomized characters, so Miles, Gwen and the BAF are gonna be passes for me, or at the very least I'm not gonna stress too much to get them. I'd have to look at Morbius closer to see if he's worth getting, but for now I'm on the fence. Phage gets us another Life Foundation symbiote so I'm all for it. Carnage is a dedicated sculpt and he looks AWESOME. Definitely going to be an upgrade over the original articulation-wise. Just wish he had some swappable weapons like the rerelease had with the axe. Venom is the most interesting figure from the wave here for me, since I liked him in the movie, even though the movie was a mess. The articulation scheme looks to match that of Retro Spidey. But what's really on my mind with this figure is I get a strong feeling Hasbro is going to give us a new comic based Venom on this new body and I'm all for it. That Hyperion body is trash and killed both releases of Classic Venom that they did. Definitely interesting for people that don't want their Eddie Brock Venom to be massive like the recent rerelease. |

Out of that wave I really only want the BAF Venompool. I used to play Contest of Champions a lot and ever since seeing that character there I’ve always wanted a figure of it. Hope I can manage to order a loose Venompool at Dorkside.
