The Silver Centurion looks very good but I'm good with one Iron Man and that being the 80th anniversary figure. No interest in a Venompool or anything "venomized" but hope you guys enjoy them whoever is into them.

It doesn't have the suspense Black Panther has. The excitement Infinity War provides. The epic feel of Endgame. Nor the social commentary of Joker. It's just a generic by the book comic book film that seems to be taking cues from Constantine. Only instead of the Spear of Destiny being passed along like an STD, it's a symbiote. It also doesn't make sense to be in the MCU since there is no possible way for it to exist. Quote:
Hardy’s voice was perfect throughout. He was doing a woody Allen-type accent with a hint of Chicago. I actually worked with a guy who sounds almost identical to Hardy’s voice as Eddie.

Yeah, not even close in my book. It's on Captain Marvel levels if I'm going to compare it to anything. It's better than Thor Dark World though.

The guy has the acting range of cardboard and a monotonous annoying voice to go with it. |

To each their own. Thankfully this is a toy forum and not a movie critic forum, I can just ignore the haters and move on. Lol

Venom was by no stretch a good movie, but I enjoyed the ever-loving hell out of it. I'm not going to try and compare it to other superhero films, because that's unfair to it, but taken on its own, it's a weirdly funny and oddly endearing (at least the romcom bits with Eddie and Venom) bit that was enough to convince us to buy it, when we've been hard-pressed just to finish buying the Phase Three films due to burnout.
I am looking forward to that movie Venom figure, and I have not looked forward to any non-Flash Venom figure since I started collecting this line.

If you consider the MCU to be woke, then I prefer my super hero movies to be woke. The comics exist in a greater universe so should the movies. And Phase 3 was nearly perfect. Black Panther, Civil War, both Spider-Man films, and both Avenger films are second only to The Winter Soldier.
Carnage might be the only thing that gets me to see Venom 2 in theaters (I skipped the first one in theaters), but I am most certainly looking forward to Morbius. Morbius has been one of my favorite Marvel heroes since I first picked up Morbius #1 in 1992 and I have been waiting decades for him to get a movie. I was so excited when he was in the 90s Spider-Man cartoon even though they dumbed his down to hand suckers. I was also thrilled to death when they even gave him an action figure in that toyline despite not looking anything like his animated counterpart nor his comic book look. That's also why I read through the Omnibus that came out back in July in barely a month's time.

The new figure looks fantastic...even if you have no interest in the character, it could be a fun one to army build as a generic monster/demon/vampire to battle against any other supernatural characters you might have. I know I'll be picking up a few of him for sure. |

I prefer the already existing Villains of the Night Morbius over the newer 90's version up for preorder. Not a big fan of the emo goth type costume on Morbius but I know its from the 90's Midnight Sons run. I might have been more interested if the head sculpt had a little more teeth and vicious look to it. I am interested in seeing Leto as Morbius though and hope the movie is awesome.
I would like to see a remake of the monster pack with Zombie, Frankenstein, Dracula and Werewolf by Night.

[QUOTE=Trivial Psychic;845138]Not a huge Morbius fan...the film looks intriguing to me. I've often wondered how he would play out on the big screen, especially since he was supposed to originally be a part of the Snipes Blade franchise before Del Toro took it in a different direction.

Just goth. No emo involved. Emo didn't exist for another 15 years or so and emo is just someone trying to act cool by being goth. TWO completely different things. Being goth doesn't make you emo. Being emo doesn't make you goth. People need to stop with these assumptions that they are one and the same.
Anyway, I've got mixed feelings on AoA Apocalypse. I don't know if it is this way for others, but some of his joints are loose, so he kept sliding down when I was trying to take pictures of him, especially in the ab crunch and the top of the legs. If I could figure out how to proper use that pledge stuff, I could possible tighten it, but since I made Ghost Rider worse last week, I don't think I even want to try it unless I pick up another with the intent to exhange them. Also, the cape likes to pop out of the shoulder sockets any time you make a move on him, so that was very frustrating as well. I do like that there are two heads, though the paint job on his chin is off. Interestingly enough, despite being the exact same body as the other Apocalypse, the neck ball is bigger and the hand pegs are smaller, so the older head fits loosely on the newer body while the new hands are loose on the old body. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Really? I loved Venom. Thought it was a better movie than Black Panther, Infinity War, Endgame, or Joker. Hardy’s voice was perfect throughout. He was doing a woody Allen-type accent with a hint of Chicago. I actually worked with a guy who sounds almost identical to Hardy’s voice as Eddie.
He’s an actor that throws himself into his roles, unlike actors that play the same character again and again and again (Robert Deniro) just with a different name because they can’t act. Venom was far from a failure. It was box office platinum. It had a campaign of entitled incels and “A Star is Born” fanatics launching an internet attack on it before it was even out. It was a perfect origin for a character that really was just a one-trick pony in the comics for decades. I’ve been a fan of the character since it first debuted in the 80’s but he was always a very weak character design. Physically he looked awesome, but the motives and personality was just crap. Marvel realized this after the Venom/Spider-man fight on the abandoned island and actively started retconning and developing the character throughout the 90’s and early 2000’s to make him a three dimensional being instead of just a butthurt entitled jock with angry pajamas. The movie actually made the best version of Eddie Brock yet. A Woody Allen-like neurotic looser that tries to do things right but gets in his own way. The Symbiote’s personality is fantastic. Very similar to the Toxin character in the comics. Gives Venom a Jekyll/Hyde personality. Much more interesting. But to each their own. To each their own indeed. I myself prefer entertainment that’s at least 90% less objectively crap. Also, let’s not conflate commercial success with not sucking. Several Steve Mnuchin-produced DC movies and the Macarena speak to the fact that quality has no bearing on the financial end. P.S. Joker was a derivative piece of shit. |

Briefly off-topic: Wow, I think this may be the first time I ever read anyone say that two-time Academy Award winner Robert friggin' De Niro can't act. You go ahead and say that. I'll wait here in the all-concealing shadows, where it's safe.
Also, I'm not a big Tom Hardy fan. I just don't get his appeal. And I felt his Eddie Brock to be too bland for my tastes. There's just something about his performance and ever-changing accent that didn't work. He wasn't Topher Grace Eddie Brock Jr. bad, but it could've been better. Back on-topic, I love the Silver Centurion Iron Man and I like the press photos for it. I just hate that it's a Walgreens exclusive. As I've said before, I hope the rumored U.S. Agent isn't a Walgreens exclusive, as I would love a new, easy-to-find classic U.S. Agent figure. I'm curious when we'll see what the next big reveals and the next inevitable new Spider-Man Build-A-Figure wave and rumored second Gamerverse Avengers wave will be. We may not see anything until October on both of those waves, but since we have more Marvel Legends teases/reveals for August (as I seriously doubt the "hold on to your cereal bowls" teaser line on Twitter was directed at the Venom wave reveal), time will tell. |

I can't speak to the next regular Spidey wave (although I'd like Mr Negative to be in it since he definitely wouldn't go in a retro wave) but if we get another Avengers gamerverse wave I'm reasonably confident MODOK will be the BAF. So when are we thinking online stores will be getting the Apocalypse? I mean if more and more people are starting to actually find him in Target then it should reasonably be within this month, right?

I guess I have no opinion on this Silver Centurion since to me it's just another Iron Man armor. I don't see the big deal with it.
Some day I'll pick up the 80th Iron Man and Thor... But damn they have gotten pricey on Amazon. The prices should be decreasing, not going up.

I’d imagine they have to remain vague and that’s a fairly specific question. Even if there is something they can’t talk about it upfront until it’s revealed. But they can give hints. Just have to be on the watch out for them.

Can anyone that has Velocity Suit Spider-Man and/or Secret Wars Captain America take photos of them with any one of Nate Grey, Multiple Man, or 90's Havok? I hate the buckycap teeny feet and I finally decided to do something about it. Any other figures that might have feet that will work? I think AoA Weapon X is too dark, but I don't have one to compare.

You're right that emo and goth aren't related, but everything else you said is wrong. The first emo bands formed in the mid-80s, and were very much an off-shoot of punk and hardcore. They had no associations with goth fashion, derivative or otherwise, and were "emo" because the music and lyrics and were emotional and introspective (for punk, anyway). In the early 2000s some pop-punk bands started screaming and imitating goth fashion, and erroneously adopted the term, and the general public has been confused about it ever since, apparently yourself included. Or at least that's a purist's take, but language evolves. Most people use the terms 'goth' and 'emo' more or less synonymously these days, so either they're right or I am. You just seem confused.
As the resident goth, I can tell you, that one, emo evolved from scene kids, and their music is mainly from the 00s bands like AFI, Panic at the Disco, My Chemical Romance, etc. Just because the word are used interchangeably doesn't make it accurate or correct, most goths feel that the emo set are engaging in cultural appropriation |
