I agree on all points here. I was hoping we’d at least see a Sersi to go with the 90s Avengers we’ve been getting lately. I’m guessing next year’s SDCC boxset will be comics Eternals. The movie Eternals designs seem kinda uninspired to me, and the seeming lack of a Black Knight figure is baffling to me. Of Selma Hayek, my recent rewatch of “From Dusk ‘Til Dawn” agrees with you.
I suspect you are right and I really hope to see a box for them in the very near future. Let's manifest this into reality by speaking it into universal existence - or by simply typing as much into a forum Hasbro execs may or may not peek at from time to time... Sersi sits high on my must have list along with Thena/Azura, Ikaris, and Makkari. Funny thing, the ONLY reason I want an Exodus figure is to re-envision that epic fight between the two from the Bloodties story arc- I'm still pretty salty all these years later that it was ostensibly a draw between Sersi and the mutant. She's a demi-god; she should have mopped him regardless of his omega level status - he isn't THAT powerful IMO. My only concern about a box-set is that, ideally, I want a slightly expanded roster that includes Gilgamesh/The Forgotten One, Zuras, and Sprite. However, I just don't see a 7 figure set. About Salma, From Dusk til Dawn was the catalyst for my awareness of her, and she has only become more beautiful with age IMO, but the real kicker was learning that she's deeply thoughtful and intellectual. I developed a great deal of respect for her after watching Frida. She is an impressive human. Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 09-06-2020 at 10:23 AM.. |

I remember Bloodties. Gotta remember Exodus was the new 90's edge lord so of course they gave him an unfair advantage. Most of the new characters in the 90's were Mary-Sues who could do no wrong. It was like a whole decade of Bendis caliber creators

Agreed. I felt that way as a young-adult reading it; he was a flash in the pan benefiting from the uber popularity of X-shit...

This is my plan! Remove the eyeshadow and spiked collar, paint hair/eyebrows black, add the eye tatoos, and paint the rose blue and wham...done. My favorite look for Sage would still be the her X-treme X-men look but Id rather have her Hellfire Club look and her X-treme look (and I try to only get one version of each character excpet my favs) than have an Evil Jean. I used to love Jean Grey so much as a kid, but so far I dont have any Jeans, lol.

A seven or eight figure boxset would be ideal, but is too big relative to the last couple years’ offerings. They’ll probably give us Ikaris, Sersi, Makkari, Thena, & possibly a fifth (Zuras or Kro, I’ll guess), since those require the least tooling. I think Ajak would make a beautiful figure, but he’d probably require a dedicated sculpt. Agreed again on Selma Hayak, her eloquence is her most attractive characteristic.
I'd love a Kro, but not before other friend/foe Deviants such as: Karkas, Reject, Ghaur, and Maelstrom. That's without even mentioning villains like Druig, Legba, and Tutinax. A comic Ajax would be incredible, but then I would want Valkin and Vrako to round out my Thor: The Eternals Saga roster. All highly improbable given that even readers well-heeled in Marvel's pantheon of characters would look at this assembled list and scratch their heads... |

It worries me that I would buy all of those. Karkas would make an awesome Build-A-Figure (the scale would have to be fudged), and Reject was my favorite in the original run. A brother Tode would be good to round off the hypothetical Deviants. I think my focus for comics Eternals would be on characters featured in the Kirby run, but an Thor Eternals Saga sub-shelf would be welcome.
... yeah we’re not getting any of these. |

Anyone find the Deluxe War Machine release at retail?
I feel like I saw a few sightings around the boards weeks ago, but then nothing. |

Exodus is da bomb and I won’t hear otherwise! He’s also the only Quiet Council character not to have a figure in some outfit, even if not thr DOX outfit. He’s probably at least pinging Hasbros radar while not front and center of it.

I really like what I've seen of the new War Machine but I'm going to wait and see if he drops to $25 or less before I bite, I said it before but he just doesn't seem like a $30 value to me. Similarly I'm going to wait and see if the riders Punisher goes on sale because I really don't care about the bike but the figure itself and the accessories are appealing.
So far Dr Doom remains my top Legends figure of 2020. I know a few people got him in just at the end of 2019 but the Super Skrull wave didn't really hit until 2020.

I’m going to make a movie X-24 and a movie DOFP Wolverine from the spare Wolverines that I ordered. I also plan to keep another one sealed in a good condition box. My first 2 arrived in a brown paper shipping bag.

![]() I don't have any serious problem with Exodus outside of the belief that he shouldn't have been able to stalemate a character that hails from a veritable race of gods. For a time, within 616 continuity, the Eternals were confused with the Olympians and the two groups actually fought a war over this misconception. On top of Sersi's considerable powers of telepathy, telekinesis, teleportation, cosmic energy manipulation, matter transmutation, and illusion casting she has the baseline (god-like) physiology for which the Eternals are famously known. They're nearly invulnerable. Put them in acid. Shoot them with high caliber ordinance. Blow them up. Electrocute them. They keep ticking. The only way to destroy them is to break them down on a molecular level. Add to that the fact that Sersi can bench press 20 tons! lol She's twice as strong as Spiderman or the Beast, basically, for no reason at all. I know you are likely aware of all of this. I'm just explaining why I found the fight to be pretty silly. Exodus is fine enough as a super-villain for the X-men, but even as an omega level mutant with very impressive powers, that battle was more about who's currently hot (popularity of the X-books) and who's not circa 93'. Poor writing/plotting failed to account for exactly how much he was punching above his weight-class. They sort of hinted at it in the dialogue they shared while fighting, but the outcome was way too even for my tastes. I'd welcome a figure for him and based on the recent toy X-Plosion, we'll definitely get one. I'm curious to see how Hasbro handles his wonky costume. They'll need to approach it cautiously as he could either be spectacular looking, or a complete disaster. Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 09-06-2020 at 04:13 PM.. Reason: stuffs... |

I cannot imagine that 90's Sersi and Black Knight wont be made, Id assume sometime next year. A lot of the nessecary pieces are already molded (Black Knight's body, The female Avengers jacket, a male jacket, the new Rogue has very similar boot tops that Sersi has.) One of the other marvel news sites just wrote an article about getting more 90's Avengers in Legends and I never realised how many of them wore those brown jackets, haha. They could easily make an Avengers Crystal too with already molded parts besides the head.
With all the comic figures Hasbro made for the Black Widow line (mostly as exclusives) I actually hope they keep that model going for all the MCU movies going forward. 2 to 3 exclusive figures with a deluxe figure or 2 pack that were all comic based would definately balance out MCU heavy waves like the rumored all movie Eternals wave. Now I collect mostly X-men or MCU figures, but to me it seems too good a marketing opportunity to miss (assuming of course that Hasbro felt like the Black Widow figures were successful). I'm undecided so far about getting MCU Eternal figures. I never really followed their comics beyond the Gaiman written one so I want to watch the movie first and see which characters I enjoy. I do really like Gemma Chan (got a Minerva figure just because she was played by Chan) so I imagine I will want at least a Sersi. I like that such a famous actor as Salma Hayek at least signed up for her likeness to be used for figures! Though it doesn't really look like her too much from the pic I saw. My assumption for why we dont have a Tilda Swinton Ancient One or Aaron Taylor-Johnson Quicksilver yet is that perhaps those actors didnt sign for their likeness to be used? |

Spotted this lot at my local Books-A-Million. Picked-up the Magneto/Professor X set, but was really tempted by that retro Mysterio. He looks incredible!

I’m down for Sersi, Black Knight, and Exodus. I also wish they’d really delve into the 90s X-Force remaining key and supporting players in perhaps a retro wave.
The Eternals stuff is kinda deep. Aside from Salma Hayek, I think I’ve already mentioned the 3 other names I recognized from the last few pages. Not really getting the Punisher love. The accessories are the draw for me, but the figure looks to have the physique of the gorilla guy from Filmation’s Ghostbusters. Not really how I picture Frank. If I see him in the wild though, I will grab him up and y’all can buy up the bike and figure. Assuming I don’t fall under his spell. I doubt I will cuz I think he looks dumb, but you never know, sometimes hand candy works its magic. Since they’re practically obligated by his popularity to do at least 1 Frank a year, I suggest the next one is a retro-carded Spider-Man animated version with like the trenchcoat over the Jim Lee outfit. Don’t cheap out: give us actual usable thigh holsters where the guns actually come out. And give us regular old non sci-fi guns even if they’re ever so slightly glued in like movie Deadpool’s. |

I kinda feel sorry for the people that bought 3 Mysterios. Like first they bought the regular one which was kinda hard to find, but plain looking. Then they probably bought the movie version because it looked better and could still pass off as the comic version and was also even harder to find for a while. Then now the retro version which looks even better than the movie version and will probably be everyone's default Mysterio now.
Seems like Target was the only place that got War Machine and AoA Apocalypse at retail months early. I think everyone else like Gamestop will get them Sept/Oct. Last edited by MeLikeJinx; 09-06-2020 at 07:57 PM.. |

I mean, Exodus and Sersi basically have the same powers, so I'm not sure by what good standard she's a demigod and he isn't, or for that matter that he's a Mary-Sue and she isn't. Just because he's a mutant, and she's some other type of superhuman?

Every time I see photos of the cool new retro Mysterio, the more I think...
1.) I can't wait to get that figure. It looks amazing and the new colors really help make the figure stand out compared to the previous Mysterio figures. I was lucky enough to buy both and I look forward to getting this third version from Amazon in November. 2.) I'm still a bit disappointed that this Mysterio didn't get any alternate heads. I would've loved a Quentin Beck head and maybe a Daniel Berkhart head. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the great alternate heads we got with Peter Parker, Spider-Man, Gwen Stacy and the Green Goblin. Perhaps we can get a Tinkerer and Alien two-pack that includes a Beck alternate head for the Alien as a nod to the classic comic storyline. I know I say this a lot, but it bears repeating: I'd love to see the retro Spider-Man toyline continue. This is easily my favorite Spider-Man toyline that Hasbro has made for their Marvel Legends toyline. |
