That's great. Hopefully he's in his proper green and yellow suit with the yellow electric mask.

Gosh I hope not. Electro's mask has always been pretty damn goofy but it manages to just work because it's in a comic book. I think the PS4 game design for Electro would be a better place to look for his costume inspiration, it keeps a lot of the basic elements (the green, yellow, and lightning patterns) but doesn't have this laughably giant lightning star on his face.

I found the best way - the only way - to display Pirate Deadpool. I take you back to the memes of Olde...

Can we just pretend the GIJoe movies never happened? A good friend of mine and I were both Transformers (more him) and joe (more me) fans as kids. The transformers movies were a major let down for him and the first GIJOE came closer to ruining my childhood than any other movie ever has. As dramatic as that sounds.

Fine by me, as I’m feeling MCU’d out. It’s not a popular opinion, so I won’t dwell on it, but Infinity War/Endgame weren’t anywhere near the top of the mcu films. Thor Ragnarok, Guardians 1, and SM Homecoming, were much, much better.

Character-wise, marvel villains have mostly been boring. I think the only genuinely exciting MCU villain performance was Loki. The rest seemed bland and phoned in. Case in point, as I typed this, I was trying to think of the names of many of the MCU villains. Without concentrating, I was only able to come up with Loki, Thanos, and Ultron.

Yeah these movies generally favor a blander villain so the heroes can get the spotlight but there are some memorable takes in addition to the three you've mentioned, just off the top of my head I'd add Vulture and Mysterio. There's definitely a recurring issue though where talented performers aren't given enough material as the villain to stand out or alternatively if they do stand out then they're unfortunately short on screen-time. My go-to example is Andy Serkis as Klaue, he seems like he was having a blast playing that character which gives him a fun energy and he tends to steal the scenes he's in but then he's only in like three or four scenes across two movies. This problem obviously isn't exclusive to Marvel movies (MCU, Fox, or Sony) but I think that with their lengthy catalog of movies and tendency to kill villains off after one movie it's especially more detectable.
Serkis was great as Klaw, and I was bummed they offed him so quickly, but it’s for the best. No way they’d be able to bring him back in today’s political climate, being they made the character a white supremacist.

Apparently, another Eternals figure leaked:
![]() Hoping it’s fake, as it looks like hot shit, but it does correlate with Rektangular’s mention of a deluxe villain figure. If real, I think that’s the worst character design for the MCU I’ve ever seen. That is a DCEU-level PS1-cut scene CGI mistranslation of an awesome Jack Kirby design. |

That's horrible looking. Maybe that's just a final form as he can shape shift in the comics, and that version won't be in the film much. Either way, easy easy pass for me. If it's not a custom.
Off side to other comments- talking about Marvel Villains, I have to agree that with most MCU villains they have been somewhat bland, not the strong point of the movies, but along with Loki I thought Cate Blanchett absolutely killed it as Hela. Iron Monger was also pretty memorable. Thanos was alright but not nearly as compelling as his comic counterpart. Last edited by Captain Nash; 10-03-2020 at 06:14 AM.. |

Punisher van alert: Greenlight is releasing a 1:12-scale A-Team van. The detail is scale model quality. It only has 2 problems: It's $500 and it does not have any opening doors. So, it's a $500 paperweight.. but still, it looks amazing.

I dig being in the minority, been there my entire life. With that being said, Marvel Studios still have a lot of stories to tell and characters to introduce. They're just getting started. Most importantly, more characters to get in Marvel Legends form.
What's ironic is the people who have gotten "burnt out" or want it to end that are comic book fans. The inspiration for Marvel Studios is pulled directly from the comic books and what they've done for over 80 years. By that logic, do we want comic book stories to stop being produced? If comics would've stop being produced in say 1970, would we have gotten Days of Future Past, The Dark Phoenix Saga, Age of Apocalypse, Civil War, God Loves, Men Kill, Secret Invasion, House of X, Powers of X, Avengers vs. X-Men, Age of Ultron, Infinity War, Secret Wars, Annihilation, World War Hulk, Avengers Disassembled, Original Sin, Fear Itself, Siege, or House of M? Not trying to cause of fuss, just using a bit of logic. Like I said, I dig being in the minority. I'm excited for what they have planned. |

![]() They're comic book characters, they're not supposed to be realistic because that's the point. I can't agree because half of the villains were plain clothed villains. Zemo was just some boring dude with the name Zemo. Quicksilver wore regular clothes. Strucker wore regular clothes. The only one that works is Klaw because that is how he first appeared in the comics. Quote:

In fact, I should say that while I want my villains to look like my favorite costumes from the comics, I'm okay with them doing alterations as long as I still feel they are the characters. WHen you have someone like Zemo, despite being well developed, he just comes off as Joe Nobody to me because there isn't a damn thing about his look that resembles Zemo. In fact, when I first saw Civil War, I didn't even know that was supposed to be Zemo. That's the only reason Civil War is like #6 on my top MCU films list.

Agreed. While I enjoyed many elements of phase one, I anticipate greater all around satisfaction with phase two. The pivot to cosmic Marvel with the Eternals and Fantastic Four, along with Shang Chi, Dr. Strange, Blade (?), and the X-men are all substantial draws for me. As much as I love them, I was getting burnt out on the Avengers and their theatrical counterparts. Outside of my sadness over not getting to see more of Boseman, Evans and Cumberbatch (I prefer his snark to that of RDJ) were the only renditions I wanted to see reprised moving into the future. Include Spidey and Holland on that list... Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 10-03-2020 at 08:58 AM.. |

Yes! It's the thought of all new new characters and stories that keep me interested. I'm loving what's materializing at the Studio. Add the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters to that as well. It seems like Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have a better working relationship than was originally thought. To keep this on track...the better relationship they have, the more Marvel Legends we'll get. Venom, Morbius, Kraven, and whatever Oliva Wilde is working on (Hope it's Spider-Woman, but time will tell).

I'm excited as well! There isn't just greater diversity in representation, but in genres. Marvel's pugilistic martial master is introduced to the masses, high level mysticism in the form of the sorcerer supreme continues, mature (hopefully Blade retains its former 'R' rating) and stylized occult-vampiric action returns, a formal introduction is provide to a pantheon of earthbound cosmic deities, super-science and foundational stories abound with Marvel's 'first family' (Surfer could culminate into a visual magnum opus for the MCU), and, of course, I'm interested to see what happens when Marvel Studios presents the X-men. Some of the muted anticipation on phase two is undoubtedly a byproduct of the conditions of the pandemic which are currently stymieing the entire film industry. The hope is that there will be both breakthroughs and better leadership/guidance regarding the pandemic soon. But as you said, time will tell...
To TRULY expand and incorporate inclusion, new characters MUST be created.....not butchering and bastardizing pre-established characters. That sorta crap is just cheap and lazy.

I've never really connected with the cosmic side of Marvel, Galactus excluded but mainly 'cause of that bitchin' armor haha. It's never appealed to me, I need the human element to connect with the stories, and with the Inhumans being a bunch of posturing self-aggrandizing dicks that Disney pushed WAAAAAYYY too hard to be the next X-Men, and the Eternals shaping up to be Game of Thrones(.... IN... SPAAAACEEEEE!), I just can't muster the energy to get hyped for the movies.
