For what it's worth (not much, I'm sure), I found the balance of Connery's work to be pretty damn entertaining. Baba Wawa interview aside, I've enjoyed his screen persona and still consider him the best Bond to date. His few sci-fi explorations (Zardoz included) were entertaining with Outland, Time Bandits, and even the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen all being good-to-great experiences for me.

...yeah, I left out the Highlander on purpose.
I even liked him as the bad guy in the horrid Avengers ( steed and peel not marvel ) movie which i believe was the only time he played a bad guy...which consequently is really the ONLY reason to watch that trainwreck. Even Zardoz was better ( still weird as frag though haha ) and thats sayin something. Outland is one of my favorite films to watch even now. I am gonna miss his charm and charisma he put into every role he did.

He's given high scores and praised a bunch of figures in several reviews...especially in these past few weeks, including most of the Venom wave, the Jazwares Master Chief, several of the recent Mafex Batman releases, most of the G.I.Joe Classified line, Rogue and Pyro and of course the recent Storm in which he constantly gushed about her "cakes".

I enjoy the guy's reviews to be honest, and truthfully, I value his opinion over that of many of the more popular YouTubers, because he's more willing to call a spade a spade. (And I watch A LOT of different reviewers, including MCUCollector, Toy Bro, Unparalleled Universe, Optibotimus, DAmazing, and others...) I feel a lot of these YouTube influencers give toy companies a pass in order to not burn bridges with their suppliers who provide them with review samples or sponsorships. Does Anthony nitpick? Yes.
Does he harp on issues like anatomy a bit much? Absolutely. Is he constantly plugging his own products? It's his channel...so why shouldn't he? In the end though, not everything gets a ten out of ten or an orgasmic S.U.D. rating like some reviewers tend to give, and that's what gets my attention. When Anthony gives something a good review rating, or gushes about something in a video, it's the fact that he's not so quick (or easy) to give praise. It becomes a cause for me to take notice, as it makes the review feel just a tad bit more credible than all the rest.
Not everything gets an orgasmic S.U.D. either, guess everyone has their own biases

I hope ROSS has some good toys on discount this holiday season... it is mostly all Fortnite and Overwatch toys there right now. I forget what year it was, but I remember when ROSS had the entire Onslaught wave... the War Machine Target 2 pack... all the 3.75" Hobbit toys... the GI Joe 50th 2 packs... a bunch of Rogue One SW stuff... that particular year was awesome. The few years before and after have been lackluster though.

Have you watched his Morbius review? He never once talked about how the figure had a new body sculpt. He starts the review off by calling it a dipshit figure, complains that he has no idea how the cape is attached to the body like it was a realistic piece (despite the fact that the comics show the cape is STITCHED on). Of course, that is irrelevant to the overall asthetic of the figure at all, hates the hands, hates the head despite it being wonderfully sculpted, complains that the hair is the way it is while ignoring that it is meant to be his hair blowing back, etc.

I have no idea what the hell he is going on about. The joints are nice and tight, which he never brought up in the review. Again, the body is an entirely new sculpt, yet he blatantly ignored it. He never said anything about there being any bad paint apps because there wasn't. It's like the dude had nothing to hate on the figure so he created himself a reason to hate on it.

My Nimrod set arrived and while doing some minor shopping I popped in at Gamestop and was able to use their bag sale to grab War Machine for $24.

I decided against getting the Nimrod set at full price even before it came out. $80 felt just too high and the Alpha Flight set last year taught me that they're willing to put their exclusives on sale pretty quickly. For only $55 plus tax I find my gripes with the set are more easily consoled. Nimrod is appropriately sizable but unlike Hulk and Juggernaut he has severely limited articulation. He does look good though and his assorted optional pieces are a treat. Psylocke and Fantomex are just a good reuse of parts. I passed on the Apocalypse wave Psylocke because everyone I found had really bad paint smearing, this one still has some paint smearing but not as much as I encountered before. I really dig the coloring on her hair and accessories. The costume is pretty specific but I loved Remender's Uncanny X-Force so it's all good in my book. Fantomex also has some spots of paint smearing but nothing is too bad on mine, overall he looks good. His long vest is cumbersome but not terrible.

Like the Nimrod set, War Machine's initial price didn't sit right with me. He comes with more than the typical Legends figure but not $10 more, so grabbing him for less than $25 was satisfying. The figure itself is great, I've always liked the classic War Machine look. Everything moves well and the paint is mostly clean. The effect pieces for his shoulder weapons are fun but I have some nitpicks regarding the wrist gun. My strafing-shot effect has some notable warping and it's kind of a bummer that if you plug in both the plain shot pieces at once the gun suddenly adopts a severe spread. Unfortunately it appears as though someone has played a prank on Colonel Rhodes because mine has only half of his facial hair, the sculpt is obviously still there but on the entire right side of his face the mustache and beard are completely unpainted. It's a good thing I always planned on sticking with the helmet. QC grievances aside I'm very happy to add classic War Machine to my collection.

I would like to refer back to his DC Multiverse Justice League reviews from 2017. Watch his reviews for those figures, which by his own admission was sent to him directly from Mattel, and tell me he’s not a “kiss ass”. The way he reviewed those figures was completely inconsistent with how he reviewed other multiverse figures, with the same issues. All his reviews are not negative, and I’ll never claim them to be, but I’ve seen enough of his reviews to understand where others are coming from.

As far as the “cosplaying Hollywood actors”, that’s played out. These characters have been around for decades, drawn by hundreds of different artist, hundreds of different ways, and are now represented on the silver screen. Not millions, but billions of people see the characters on screen as their definitive version of these characters (hence why Marvel Studios is the biggest film franchise of all time, grossing over $23 billion). Thor is not real, Black Widow is not real. They are a different medium of fictional characters created decades ago. Aliens aren’t coming down from the sky anytime soon, and if they did there wouldn’t be a demigod, super soldier, “wakandan” king, “enhanced “witch”, radioactive spider bitten teenager, “sorcerer”, or a talking tree and raccoon as our first line of defense. The “Hollywood actors” who play these fictional characters are on the same level as the different men and women who created or told stories about them over the years. There shouldn’t be any passive aggressiveness against collectors who’ve decided to collect them. If that’s the case, let’s do the same energy for Star Wars, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Power Rangers, Aliens, Predator, Ninja Turtles, and countless other toys I see when I’m walking in stores. All have “Hollywood actors” running around in fake costumes. If we’re being consistent.

I'm not entirely disagreeing with your argument, but your support doesn't make sense. You can't compare Star Wars, BttF, Ghostbusters, Power Rangers, Aliens, and Predator to Marvel. All those things you said were movies or a TV show first, so the character is the actor. Marvel characters were in the comics first and several have been around for decades before the MCU, so the comic look is generally the iconic look for most of them.

As for Ninja Turtles, I have never seen a Ninja Turtle that had a "Hollywood actor" face. I know that NECA makes TMNT Movie figures, but those are impossible to find in the stores, so I know you're not talking about them, and besides, even the movie Turtles just look like Turtles.

My argument is these characters aren’t real. There’s no “real” Captain America, Thor, or Iron Man. Doesn’t matter if they didn’t exist first on the big screen. I’ve heard plenty of collectors here and other places say they won’t buy theatrical Marvel Legends (WHICH IS TOTALLY FINE, btw) because they aren’t the “real” insert character name here. That is an oxymoron, makes my mind go in circles. To keep this on my original argument, AnthonyCustoms and the gentleman I quoted said they don’t collect figures of “Hollywood” actors, again, totally fine, but I need that same energy applied to other properties I named. Don’t care which came first, the fact is they are still represented by actors on the silver screen, and have been drawn over a hundred different ways. It seems using the “Hollywood actors” in a passive aggressive manner only applies to Marvel Legends or DC Multiverse. I don’t see this as an issue with any other toy line. In fact AC has all of the properties that I named in his personal collection.

I’m not trying to start a fight, because we are adults who collect toys at the end of the day. All I’m asking for is consistency. I don’t post much here or other places, but when I do I make sure I’m coming across logical and not in the manner of posting just to start an argument. That’s not my intention.

As I said, I am not disagreeing with you. Your a main argument is alright, but like I said before, your support doesn't make sense in this context. All the other things you named were portrayed by actors before they were anything else.
Luke Skywalker IS Mark Hammill, Marty McFly IS Michael J. Fox, Peter Venkman IS Bill Murray, etc, etc, etc...
Every time someone that knows Star Wars sees Mark Hammill, they associate him with Luke Skywalker. If you've seen BttF, you associate Michael Fox with Marty McFly.

Iron Man is not Robert Downey, Captain America is not Chris Evans, etc, etc, etc...
They are characters that can be done differently, but the actors are not the final, ultimate version of these characters. I see MCU Ant-Man and it's the guy from Clueless. I see Thor and it's that guy from Cabin in the Woods. The MCU actors often had careers before the MCU and the actors can be associated with different characters than just the MCU characters.

Let's just say that they had cast Mark Hammill as Dr. Strange. When you saw that action figure, would you see Dr. Strange or would you see Luke Skywalker wearing a Dr. Strange costume?

So I get why people see an MCU figure with an actor's likeness and they just see a figure of a real-life person dressed up as a comic character.

I can't have "that same energy applied to other properties" because it doesn't make sense. Why would I hate a Ghostbusters action figure that looked like Dan Akroyd? Dan Akroyd IS a Ghostbuster.

No matter what way we try to spin it, everyone you named is a “Hollywood actor” portraying a fictional character. So by you’re own admission, if one were to display any of the characters from any franchise you just named, they would literally be a “Hollywood actor” on display. And guess what, people have their preferences, but even the comic interactions are not definitive looks for the characters.

You can definitely have that same energy, because it’s a fact. He said, “It’s strange to collect figures of real people”. Are Dan Akroyd, Michael J. Fox, Robert Downey, Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford real people? Yes. Then if it’s strange to collect figures of real people, why collect their characters from those films? It doesn’t matter where they existed first.

I’m going to let this one go, because I know where I am, and I know what’s about to happen. I’ve seen the writing on the wall for a while now, and it’s time for me to step away. I pointed out what I need to, and if you understand what I’m saying, that’s cool, if not that’s cool too. Different strokes for different folks. I’m out of here before this goes too far, we stray of course, and the mods have to wipe this conversation away.

Thank you for engaging with me, my friend. Keep collecting and keep enjoying your hobby.

The debate just goes back to my central point: nobody is being forced to buy anything. If someone buys a movie figure and then blubbers about how he hates movie figures because he doesn't like likenesses of actors, I've got zero sympathy for them. It's one of the major pillars of the line now.

Nice, probably a lot of Spider-Man related items. Which is good for the fans of the deep Spider-Man cuts and needed classic's were getting.

Also good for me, there's so little I want from that corner of Marvel now that it's mostly passable for me. Although they always throw in a general marvel character or two in a wave that's always a surprise.

Speaking of Spider-Man related stuff, I wonder if 2021 will be the year of Pavitr Prabhakar, aka Spider-Man India, literally the only remaining Spider-Man/variant/Alternate Universe version I'm interested in.

Edit: I guess they could reveal the rest of the HOX/POX wave but I'm not sure, I'm so confused if that's an early 2021 or late 2021 release. I'm really hoping it's early.

Finally peddling the idea of a BOEM II 4 pack. Again.

Or I'm making a gross over-exaggeration on other reviewers much in the same way as others do about Anthony from Anthony's Customs in the sake of fairness. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Received Jocasta, Falcon, and Kang from Amazon yesterday, and after breaking them free of their cardboard prisons and messing with them for about half an hour...with assassin like precision, I bagged them up and quickly tossed them into the shallow grave of a storage bin. I was amazed by how underwhelmed I was by the wave as a whole, and how quickly it all transpired. I'm not even feeling the pull of finishing this Joe Fixit...which is a rarity for me as I tend to try to complete BaFs one way or another...

Has anyone else felt Legends burnout as of late? The last time this happened, I swore off MCU figures altogether (though openly admit that I did pick up the Sony and Fox stuff, which was all stellar.) I'm now starting to wonder if comic Legends are next for me, because even as some of my top wants are filled (such as the formentioned Fox and Sony stuff, as well as the recent Phage, Toxin, Modern Rogue and Morbius,) I'm finding myself beginning to compile my Legends pickups, as opposed to actually enjoying them like I used to. The onslaught of exclusives this past year and the various difficulties in attaining them in general hasn't helped one bit either.

Judging by the amount of wishlists that flourish on these boards in their exaggerated lengths, or the constant barrage about when the next reveal is coming, I wonder if I'm alone on an island in feeling this way. Has anyone else been feeling some fatigue?

Yah i kinda get what ya sayin. I been getting rid of all my non x related, punisher or spidey stuff and now im likely gonna just be focusing on x related and street level heroes ( iron fist punisher shang chi ) and getting rid of all my spidey stuff too.
Plua with lotsa other lines out like power rangers, jazzwares halo stuff and the mcfarlane warhammer figs im gonna be a lot choosier about the legends i buy.

I haven't hit burnout yet, but it might be time to refocus my collecting, mostly since I'm running out of room to put them all in.

But I doubt I'm anywhere close to out of the game yet
