Looks like I’ll be ordering more than 1 Classified Flint to make some generic movie Reavers.
I’ll get Marvel Select Titanium Man. He looks like he can go well with Marvel Legends or Marvel Universe.

This has not been a good year for most of the globe and, sadly, we haven't even come close to the nadir with more in store in the days, months, and years to come...
But, yes, I remain grateful for life each day it's gifted to me and while I didn't really have an attachment to Kriby, I noted his passing in the news, although for other shows he'd been on... In any event, 'toys', right? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yah 2020 has sucked ass for losing a lotta great talented folks. And yah toys...love those Deathshead shots man. He is easily one of my favorite legends i own.

We'll see if we get an actual Death's Head at some point from Hasbro... But, yeah man, I'm also a fan the Death's Head (II or minion, choose your fancy) fig, even if it went a bit underappreciated. That said, what others do, or don't like has never had that much bearing on my preferences. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

lol nah, Bendis isn't that guy.
Without getting into some age old thread 'comic junk', I view Bendis as one of comic readership's classic boogey men. A receptacle in which many people seem to deposit all of their angst, vitriol, and animus. Was/is he the best comic writer? Not by a long shot. Was/is he the worst? Not by an even longer shot, believe it or not. He was a 'shake-up' guy who delivered relevance to Marvel titles at a time in which things had grown stale. However, I don't do books currently (outside of TPBs) and haven't read anything recently by him full stop For what it's worth, I enjoyed House of M, Avengers Disassembled, New Avengers (for the most part), and his Daredevil run. I can't speak for much else... EDIT: For the literalists, when I say 'comic junk' I'm referring to the contentious debates about comics that have unintentionally emerged here over the years. Given my participation in the thread, my collection of MLs, and a variety of other clear 'tells'...I'm obviously a fan of comics. ![]() Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 11-20-2020 at 03:53 PM.. |

I wonder if the Retro Gambit and Rogue are coming in seperate cases... Popfindr shows all my Targets already have 6 Gambits each and 0 Rogues. Too bad my Targets are super street about street dates. Also Popfindr now has a warning not to be rude to retail employees.

^ IMO it kinda makes sense they remove Walmart though since Popfindr was pretty much useless for Walmart. You need to use Brickseek for Walmart I think... although Brickseek has been having trouble with Walmart too the past couple of months... maybe Walmart is changing their inventory system or something. I have never been to Sam's Club though... only Costco.

Chances are Rogue and Gambit will have a similar arrangement...6 figures per case, with them divided by whatever tomfoolery Hasbro decides to pack them in. Dear Hasbro... ![]() As much as I really want to support your Pulse service...you have unfortunately made it very difficult for me to just give you my money. Between the constant barrage of store exclusives, distribution issues, bots that buy up all of your stock, inconsistently enforced street dates at the store level, and retailers gaining access to your products a full two months before you claim to have them ready for shipping...you...you've just made this way too difficult. I used to use the old Hasbro Toy Shop all the time back in the day with nary an issue. I now use Pulse as a final alternative because I know there are better options elsewhere. I want to throw my money at you as if it were on fire and covered with spiders. Please make it easier for me to do so! Sincerely... A rabid fan who's getting too old for this **** |

I'm pretty sure the way it works is that one or two characters are featured in the case while the rest aren't included. When I was checking Target for the Venompool wave, if I did a search on Miles or Carnage, it would show 8 of those two characters, but if I tried searching any of the other characters like Movie Venom or Phage, they would always ring up zero. Sure enough, when the figures finally hit my local shelves, I was finding single cases of them in stock.

That said, I doubt knowing whatever the rationale is would make the end result any less frustrating... That's definitely the sad reality with Pete, but I think Felicia is a bit of a wash... |

Lol Agreed, especially on the last part about getting too old for this silliness.

I don't know, I was looking at my original Black Cat the other day and I still hate her. She is one of my least favorite figures in my collection. The head doesn't stay on for shit due to the stump of a neck joint and as I have mentioned before, the stump also means she has no articulation there at all and her legs can only spread out to form an A rather than a T.
It also doesn't help that my figure also has a circular paint chip right above her lip so it looks like she has a mole there. YUCK!!!

It's funny, I was actually talking figure aesthetics with a friend today regarding those old Toybiz figures, and hot damn...looking back at them in terms of sculpt and paintwork, it's hard to believe some of the results that Toybiz was able to put out with some of those pre Marvel Legends figures. Looking back...some of these were nearly on McFarlane levels back in those days. Spider-Carnage for example was on a translucent body, with sculpted webs, spider logo, and veins all the way down to the tip of his bladed fingers, with multiple shades of paint in the mouth alone, and a sweet wash to go along with it (and light piping!) Apocalypse had sculpted wrapping, with paints and washes to complete the look of having risen from the tombs after a long rest. Limited points of articulation be damned...there's a reason I've kept some of these figures all these years. They looked amazing then, and still do...as they have had an aesthetic and personality that Hasbro has often come up short with. Quote:
On a completely different note...with the popularity of Figpins at the moment...I'd love to see Hasbro reissue some of the pins from the original vintage Toybiz figures with these vintage figure releases in the future. While they never stayed put on your shirt pocket, I did love displaying them with my figures back in the day. I'd much rather have a reissue of that sweet Black Cat pin than the repainted Goose that Felicia came with. (I still have the original pin somewhere...but damned my luck, can't seem to find it. Eff 2020....seriously. ) Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 11-22-2020 at 07:34 PM.. |

Finally came across a fresh case of the Mr. Fixit wave in the wilds of a not-so-local Walmart. First time seeing any of the other figures of the wave at retail, besides the plethora of Gamerverse Iron Man and Stealth Cap. Picking up Kang was just natural instinct.

I wouldn't say way better due to the tech advancements in articulations since...but in terms of aesthetic...yeah...the original Toybiz figure smokes it. This new figure does have nice, crisp paint apps though...and that cookies and cream pizza....mmmm....yummy.

They looked amazing then, and still do...as they have had an aesthetic and personality that Hasbro has often come up short with. I think it can sway either way with this "new" Felicia. On one hand, I do appreciate the sculpted *ahem* details on the original figure, this one does do a couple of things better, such as a better choice of plastic on the legs and body which gives the fragile Moonstone mold some stability, as well as better articulation in the hips, torso, and feet. I also like the gray wash a lot better than the blue...but honestly, you can go either way with it. She's worth revisting even if you have the original. I didn't keep the figure pins, but I had a collection of the the comic pins they often sold at the counters of LCS back in the day. Those things were dope! I had so many that I would give them away to close friends I made as a keepsake. Corny, for sure, but I'm the sentimental type...many collectors tend to be... |
