I got MODOK, but the employee had to grab it out of the back for me and it was the last one.

Didn't see any Shang-Chi stuff at either Target we were at, but the other one also didn't have MODOK at all.

The Retro Spider-Man Rhino figure should be as big as the SDCC Hulk figures.

My local Wally worlds have been devoid of MLs on the pegs for months now, good thing I didn't care for the "Mr Fix It" wave & don't care for the "Lucky Charms" wave either, might get that IM later on at clearance. Pre-ordered the Ursa Major wave & hopefully I find Quasar in the wild later on. MCU/Gameverse ain't my thing so Hasbro is saving me a good chunk a cheddar so far in 21'

Here’s the link for Baron Zemo.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08MVGXCVC

If they all get listed at Dorkside for $19.99 each tomorrow then I’ll probably cancel my Amazon preorders.

In the comics, Modok is typically shown running AIM.

He's appeared in different cartoons featuring either Iron Man or the Avengers. He's also the main villain in the recent Avengers video game.

Modok is also getting his own cartoon series on Hulu. It looks to be in a similar vein to Robot Chicken. I can't say that I've been impressed with what they've shown but YMMV.

That's all well and good, but that's their problem to worry about, not mine as the consumer. In the same way that manufactures don't spend much time worrying about my mortgage payments and whether I can pay my bills when determining MSRPs, I'm not going to lose sleep over their manufacturing costs and expect any less for my money and/or patronage.

While this is informative in some ways, I consume it in much the same manner that I would any other media. Is this straight news, or editorial? Is it a form of advertisement, or a PSA? Is it a hit-piece, or is it a fluff-piece? What is the relationship of the individual/source sharing this information to the industry/subject matter being presented; is this being shared/reported by an objective third-party source or an industry insider? All of these things are considerations I make before allowing someone's take on something influence my own.

I have no reason to doubt this dude, he presents as a pretty affable guy. However, there are elements of what he has shared that do smack of an apologist approach to the industry. He also admits he's a toymaker which naturally skews the perspective based on my shared rubrics for consuming print/spoken/video news and information.

Some immediate takeaways: If I accept his explanation, how did/does Mcfarlane Toys do it as a much smaller outfit than Hasbro/Mattel? (not to mention Toy Biz before them...) His comparison of Castle Grayskull sporting a $500k buck to those of $20 figures is misleading on its face, as it's not even a figure. Toy, yes. Figure, no. Additionally, using the Thing as a 'normal buck' in comparison to other figs considering the size and detail needed to represent the character properly should seem inappropriate to any collector familiar with the line/figure/character. The Thing has to be at least a penultimate sculpt if not an ultimate example of costly bucks, a fact that sort of rigs the game from the start in a slight of hand fashion.

That video was neat, but I'm not sure I buy this presentation as a be-all-end-end explanation for why we don't see more unique tooling, nor do I accept his estimates for bucks he's had no hand in developing. I'd be interested in knowing the cost for say Hasbro's Doctor Doom buck, or Mister Sinister...

Thank you! Everyone that collects figures and complains about how much they cost should take 10 minutes and watch the video.

Edit: And I took it for just what it is, a 10 minute Youtube video that is a very broad overview of the microeconomics that go into producing an action figure. In short, there's a lot of factors that go into producing what people buy that they don't think about beyond going into a store and getting something off the shelf (or buying it online which takes even less effort). Whether you care or not is up to the individual, but I found it an interesting use of 10 minutes.

Sorta disappointed that they spent most of the panel talking about previously announced figures, but it was what I expected, so that’s alright. Comics teases were interesting.

- Wonder where Herc’s going, maybe an unannounced Avengers wave?
- Johnny confirms the Fantastic Four retro wave, and its leaked line-up. Boy he looks great.
- Sweet, some Skrulls. SHIELD agent looks fine, dunno if I need any.
- Really mixed feelings on that Wolverine. On the one hand, that is a truly strange choice for a figure. However, it does confirm that some more classic X-Men are coming somewhere, somehow soon, which is great news.

Edit: my count may be off, but shirtless Logan is our 16th comics Wolverine, and our 19th overall Wolverine in this iteration of Marvel Legends.

Not much of a fight on that wave on Pulse. Looks like they forgot Bucky for a second, lol.

So every Marvel Legends organization with a goon squad (Hydra, A.I.M., Hellfire Club, and SHIELD) all shop at Forge's weapon shop?

It should be a given that the weapons that come with Forge are weapons that he built.

Marvel Legends Forge is a MAJOR arms dealer and just sells weapons to anyone with zero regard to which side they are on or who they will be using the weapons against.
