Okay, now Hasbro really needs to release Wolfsbane so I can recreate this cover:
![]() It's cool, I like hearing your opinion on the matter. I don't believe any company deserves to be in business if they can't afford to pay their employees wages that match the cost of living and give them health benefits that aren't going to put them in debt just for getting sick. I get what you are saying, but let me give you my personal experience, as... ...because this is exactly what I am. I have a Maseter's degree, which now made me overqualified for full time teaching positions in Colorado because they won't hire people with a Master's anymore due to the notion they have to pay those with the degree higher. However, some districts will hirer those with a Master's degree under the agreement you will not demand a higher rate for having one. As a sub, I make $120 a day, and only on the days I actually work. I don't get paid weekends, I don't get paid holidays, and I don't get paid in the summer. A regular teacher here in Colorado is paid between $34-41K a year depending on the school district and the location of the school district. Like Denver Public Schools will pay 40K because you're dealing with poor neighborhoods. The district I'm in pays teachers $34K a year because they're in the richer areas of Colorado. A teacher may be given a .05% raise after three years IF they meet the requirements set by the district during those initial three years. That's my point though. We know fully well China's factories are not fully staffed with adults. Then what difference does it make if they are outsourcing to China or manufacturering them here in the states? Hell, manufacturering them in the states also means they no longer have to have them shipped from overseas. They don't have to pay their employees to fly halfway around the world to do inspections. Those alone would save money. Dude. you're talking about someone who went to a business high school and took business classes in college. I know what the reality has been for decades, but we're no longer in the 20th century, it's time to move away from the boomer mentality and come up with newer options. That's because I'm just spouting off ideas and concepts. If this were a college classroom, I would go into better detail with more info. It's just a message board though, so there is no point in doing such. |

Well isn't that the point? To converse our point of view on stuff?

Ehh, maybe, but many of the things you're saying just don't add up in the real world. It's ok though, you believe that a $20 toy can be made here while paying a livable wage with benefits and I don't think that's possible. We can end the pontificating with an understanding that we don't agree.

Damn... I wish I had an Ollie's where I live... people finding a bunch of 10 dollar Legends at Ollie's on youtube... like Steath Suit Invincible Ironman, Cowboy Wolverine and Punisher War Machine... those older Fan Channel exclusives, plus some other ones too.
I agree... except Wolfsbane's face and hair looks really different depending on who drew her... I wonder which version they would go with. |

Just to chip in on the production in the US thing. As living standards increase, cheap labour isn’t sustainable so at some point it will move elsewhere - Vietnam, then wherever else.
That said, people in Asia and Europe aren’t going to accept higher prices just to make Americans feel better about themselves so if nothing else production runs will decrease in size making the price per unit higher.

![]() ![]() I picked up the Scientist Supreme and Hood to finish building Xemnu today. I'd like to give a big public thanks to member Sataninjaku for sending me the chest and right leg. Since I was only two pieces shy of finishing Xemnu I figured I'd scoop them up and rationalize it as $10 each for the Scientist and the Hood and then $20 for Xemnu. I like the colors on Scientist Supreme and generally he's just got a pretty sharp look. The tech-pad accessory is neat, I like that both sides of the screen are sculpted and they're even different. He pairs well with MODOK but I don't have any AIM goons for them to command, I might see to that at some point in the future. Hood on his own is a fairly disappointing figure (beyond his ability to act as a soon-to-be victim of Xemnu who is vewy hungwy) but his pistols are nice and his body can be head-swapped into a solid background civilian. His cloak is amusingly too big for him, meaning that if you have him wearing it correctly then he can't stand upright because it goes down past his feet. Finally there's Xemnu and while not flawless I really like how he turned out overall. My main gripe, as I've said before I even had him, is that they made his cyber-tummy a belt-piece instead of a new lower torso. I get that this method was way cheaper and easier but it makes him look like he's wearing a belt and it restricts the ab crunch. The parts that are new (head, hands, and feet) came out really well even if his head's range of movement is quite limited. I recognize that Xemnu is not even remotely a very popular character and the chances of him ever getting a deluxe release later in the line are slim to none so all in all I'm happy with how this BAF turned out, I am, I am. ![]() |

I also agree that decreasing production runs is one way to control costs - less is often more. However, I also think robotic innovation is reaching such breathtaking heights that I have to imagine we are approaching yet one more inflection point in industrial manufacturing. Low skill human-drudgery is on its final legs for both practical/cost reasons and social ones. Boston Dynamics just showed off Atlas; a pinpoint parkouring, backflipping robot that just might usher in our demise on many fronts as humans. Skynet beckons, squishy humans. Get you some new skills everyone, the future cast its steely gaze on us 5 days ago and I blinked... Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 08-22-2021 at 07:00 PM.. |

Haha! That's half more than I've read...
However, I read Dragonlance's War of Souls which is roughly 1800 pages in totality for the trilogy. This doesn't even include Forgotten Realms' Icewind Dale, Dark Elf Trilogy, Legacy of the Drow, spin off Drizzt stuff, and all the Ravenloft books I've read spanning from my teens into college. But fantasy is a thing for me (has been throughout my lifetime) and I had been a voracious life-long reader of many things up to maybe 2012ish. I sincerely miss the days when one could visit a toy forum for a bit of escape.

Well at least guys like you make it more palatable what with your kind gesture to En Sabah Nerd. Or a few pages back when everyone expressed their wishes and sympathies to Dr. Kain for a fallen friend. That was nice. Starlord67 for hooking people up when they can't find certain things.

What's the general consensus on discussing toy wants based off a leaked trailer?

Just use the lightest *grey* font color to spare the spoiler crowd.
I say go for it, but spoilers don't bug me...so, grain of salt. |

People online need to stop posting spoiler pictures from the leaked No Way Home trailer as I'm getting sick of seeing stuff from a trailer I have no interest in watching since I already know I'm going to see it.

Lol that's good for YOU, but what about the people that actually DO want to see the trailer? Do their wants count? And by extension, should the MCU also market its movies based solely on whether you intend to watch it, or not?

Pretty sure he's not talking about Marvel's marketing machine but individual people, presumably ones posting spoiler-y content about the film outside the context of discussing the film

I'd heard the Spider-Man trailer leaked. But I haven't seen any images or videos of it. Then again, I haven't gone looking for it either.

Additionally, with films struggling to regain lost traction, I'm not certain that this was an unintentional leak. How are those Marvel movies doing lately with the pandemic as a backdrop; those numbers the same? "Whoooops, oh noes, the top secret screening somehow got out to the adoring Spidey-fan masses!" Hmmmmmmm |

There's a new timelapse video of some Hasbro engineers assembling Galactus from parts. I can't post the link, since my post count is low.

Meh, trailers getting leaked early is nothing new. This is especially true of trailers of highly anticipated movies and there are thousands, if not millions, of people that genuinely want to see trailers as soon as possible - even leaked ones. Good luck attaching personal peeves to the pandora's box that is the internet...that cat ain't going back into the bag anytime soon.
