Feels weird typing that I've got a JCPenney haul, but here we are. This store has had their Marvel Legends (Malekith, MCU Wasp, & Sable) sitting on the pegs with $30 price tags since 2019. Walked in on a whim today to find all three on clearance. Nearly pounced on the Silver Sable, left the other two in the literal dust.

I wonder if Hasbro will retool the Kingpin BAF to make a Demon Brute.

Also, the regular sized Demons had a few different looks in the PS4 game. Hasbro could easily do another 2 pack with a suit and tie Demon and a Martin Li swappable head.

My Robo-Thors are about to be shipped by Target!

I'm not sure whether I'm more relieved that the long standing order is being filled or that finally Target will stop hitting my card with preemptive charges that drop a few days later.

While I was a fan of most of Civil War (the beginning to middle of the event), I'm not very attached to Richards/Stark/Pym's doppelganger automaton/clone. However, I am a big fan of the spinning Mjolnir accessory.

hip!

Funny you should mention that as I was thinking about doing something with the spare...

The other day my preorder for the retro black costume Spider-Man finally processed. I'm glad to finally have one that looks like he did in Secret Wars.

With you on that, most of us that preordered the Python Patrol/Tiger Force Classified stuff did so back in September or October. Target's pre-auth cycle is awful. There is a way to circumvent it, though- use Paypal, now that Target accepts it. You'll get a single authorization/refund, and that's it (at least that's been my experience).

Yea, it's an annoying process, for sure. I've used PayPal for BBTS in the past, however, I stopped once I realized I was being debited immediately for the full amount. I recall whammying myself for like two to three waves not realizing, then never making that mistake again. Are you telling me that Target handles PayPal pre-orders differently? That's good info right there. BBTS needs to shift to that model, if they haven't already.

They do. In fact, I had no P/A holds at all for some 6 months or so. When it did pop up, it deducted/refunded the amount as is normally the case, and there it's sat ever since at the top of my PP history as a pending charge. I think with pre-authorizations, rather than the weekly Target holds, Paypal's are yearly. The only drawback for me was that once the charge did show up, it got my hopes up that my figures were about to ship- sadly, the estimated date still says "coming soon" with that particular batch of figures.

Also, in the case of BBTS, I did notice something similar in EE's terms, and I understood that to be an actual upfront charge as opposed to an authorization.

Of course, take all of the above with a grain of salt; Target didn't always accept Paypal as a form of payment, and I only have two preorders so far to base my observations on. It's also not outside of the realm of possibility that I missed something entirely.

As an aside, I'm beginning to realize that I'd rather just have all of this stuff paid in full once the preorders go live. I'm not hurting for $$$ or I wouldn't be in this hobby, but I really do hate trying to juggle and remember, and then get the whole thing screwed up by early fulfillment. Just charge me up front. Done and done. Then I can forget about the whole thing and just have a nice surprise once they ship.

hip!

That's mostly the only reason why I ordered one. A few years ago I made a Clone Thor that is pretty much what we're getting on the Target set. Just wanted that darn hammer. Haha.

Sometimes I like being charged for something the moment I preorder it because then it's all paid for instead of having to worry about having the money for it later.

However, it does suck if you don't have th funds immediately.

Well, damn, aren't you a font of shopping information. Thanks for the breakdown, my dude. Very helpful.

I feel better now knowing I'm not alone! lol

Quiet as kept, I may have done this on 2 or 3 other occasions.

I never buy anything I don't have the money on hand for, nor do I buy anything that I can't afford without disrupting other expenditures like mortgage/lease payments or bills. This includes the 5 Sentinels and 5 Galacti for which I happily threw down. I've never been one to complain about waves arriving early and I'm always happy about that, speaking honestly. When I mentioned the BBTS inconvenience from years ago, I was simply caught off guard by the $400 (or so) not expecting an immediate draft, but it was all good. That said, I do find the pre-auth annoying because I order so much shit that it becomes hard to remember what's for what.

Well what I mean is if I preorder something say in April with a ship date of Sept and I get charged for it right away, I don't have to worry about not having the funds for it were it to suddenly ship in July or be pushed back until Dec. This stems from only getting paid once a month. I like to budget multiple months in one.

BBTS probably charges up front when you use PayPal because preorders are a violation of PayPal’s terms of service.

Are they? Pulse accepts it for preorders w/o any authorization at all, as does Walmart. Thinking about it, though, Pulse didn't used to, in fact they added PP right about the same time that Target did... which also was pretty close to the time that eBay began to implement managed payments. I wonder if POs used to be against their TOS, but they've since altered their policy to make up for what must have been a massive revenue hit?

Not this guy. As mentioned above, I prefer just ripping the band-aid off and forgetting about it when it comes to paying for stuff.

We watched the first episode to Ms Marvel today. It was a lot of fun. A lot of what I enjoyed from the comics I've read of her were featured in it, which was nice because I've seen a ton of people say they changed her character when that is clearly untrue. At least, as of the first episode.

Also, Marvel showed off a new Midnight Suns comic and for some reason Wolverine is in it while Morbius is MIA. Like seriously? What the hell is Wolverine doing there????

RIP to Tim Sale. I am so pissed I passed up the chance to get an autograph from him a few years back as I figured I had plenty of time to get one.

You know what would be cool to have featured in the next Spider-Verse movie? The 90s cartoon Spider-Man and Madame Web appearing as they're looking for that Peter's MJ.

I wish Hasbro would announce something new that I would desire. This drought is boring.

Where are people getting that BBTS charge upfront when using Paypal for preorders? They dont, that's Dorkside that does that.

Raises hand: that would be me. I recalled BBTS being the culprit, but it could have been Dorkside; I mix those two online retailers up all the time. Thanks for the correction, I'd hate to besmirch their esteemed reputation with my faulty memory. However, it was years ago and maybe it was BBTS and they've changed their policy since?

Yeah, that's very possible they were doing that before my time, which would be around 2013 or so.
