Nope, it's the existing teen body as seen on the various Ultimate Spider-Man figures.

So are these Ultimate versions of the villains then?????? Why would they use an outdated body???? Hopefully everyone else is pinless then.

I'm sort of torn on that five pack. Damn Hasbro sucks for making it an exclusive multipack. But honestly Razorback and the Human Fly were the highlights of SDCC for me. I just really didn't need that Spider-Man or even that Silvermane. I've been aware since 2015 of the idea of just popping that RC car head on Ultron but I was never bothered enough to care to do it. I have wanted Molten Man too but something about this one just seems off to me. Maybe Spider-Man anchors the box or something but I could've either done without this being a five pack or have picked any other villain to pack in there. I'd be 100% sold. Hypno-Hustler, Kangaroo, Ringmaster, Swarm, Tarantula, Mirage, Scarecrow, Man-spider, Man Wolf. Walrus! They already made Frogman and his partner White Rabbit. I'm hoping this exclusive hits a discount which I'm sure it will hopefully in time for Black Friday or something.
Side note: I didn't bother mentioning Spot because he'll be in the next Into the Spiderverse movie so I'm sure he'll be getting his due one way or another. Last edited by Boogieman4hire; 08-10-2022 at 09:47 PM.. |

The Spider-Man box set will be available to preorder on Tuesday, 8/16 so the listing should go up on Tuesday.

Anyone know anything about the next upcoming Spider-man wave? Feel like I missed an announcement or something.
Went to my local Walmart and they had started resetting the toy rows. Noticed new tags with empty pegs for the Black Panther Legacy wave and a Spider-man wave that I have no recollection of. |

There isn't an upcoming Spidey wave as of right now. The only Spider-Man stuff they've shown off lately have been multipacks and the 60th anniversary sub-line.

Well it could be tags for those crappy Spider-Verse toys that are coming out a year too soon.
Anyway, last month I bought some new Detolfs and every one of them is defective. The bolts will not tighten on the backside of the top no matter how many times I disassemble it and put it back together.

I don't really follow fancasting stuff but I'm watching Day Shift on Netflix right now. Maybe it's just me but I could totally see Dave Franco as Johnny Storm/ Human Torch. Maybe I'm crazy.

I don't think so, there were pegs for the cheaper Spider-verse figures elsewhere. Though with the film's hasty transfer to 2023, it's possible the film's Legends wave was supposed to have been released at this time. Maybe Walmart didn't get the memo? |

My pick for the past few years has been Joe Keery, Steve from “Stranger Things.”

The Marvel Legends side of my collection room is coming along nicely at my new apartment. I've got two more detolfs to fill them up with.

Had retro Rhino delivered today. Gamestop's site was (might still be) having a sale and he was down to $31, I simultaneously ordered the flashback Winter Soldier for $18 but they haven't even shipped him yet. For quite some time now Rhino was the big hole I felt needed filling in my Spider-rogues collection (I'd been calling for a deluxe Rhino release since Hasbro started doing them at all) so to finally have him is very satisfying. Of course the figure isn't flawless, he directly inherits the limitations of the 7-year old BAF whose body he reuses. Still he does balance well and the articulation that is there is sufficient for a decent range of poses. Naturally Rhino is largely just a grey figure but in hand I think the applied wash helps him avoid looking too plain. The new heads boast detailed sculpting and cleanly printed faces, although the paint on the horns seems rough. Critiques aside I'd have liked this figure even at full price so getting him for almost $10 off just makes it easier to enjoy.

^ When I picked him up I didn't realize he had such horrible knee joints... I didn't even know any modern-ish Legends still used single jointed knees. Everything else is good enough though and the headsculpt is fantastic IMO. I assume Rhino is not a dynamic fighter and pretty much just charges everyone, so I don't really need him to have any new articulation like butterfly joints or whatever... but damn, those knees do suck.

So I'm going to just wait on that discount for this five pack. But something about this shot reminds me of something.

Yeah, I'm 100% waiting for that new Spidey set to be discounted. Aside from Molten Man, I don't see much I want. I know I'm sounding like a broken record, I apologize. But that set just seems like a cash grab. There are definitely some cool figures there, but I feel like I'm at capacity when it comes to Spidey's rogues.

So now having looked at close up pictures, I'm very disappointed. It's $130 and not a single figure uses the brand new pinless bodies. Molten Man's head looks too big and he should have been on the Vulcan body, NOT the Sunfire one. As is, he looks like Human Torch with a buzz cut.
Silvermane is so god damn cheap. Did Hasbro seriously just decide to steal our Ultron body idea? Talk about lame. I was okay with the body because I did it, but he's supposed to be much taller, so Hasbro going that route is very disappointing.

The MCU Ultron BAF is 8" tall and wildly out of scale with that Ultimate Beetle mold.
