And I just learned this was the kick-off for Phase 5. They've lost me.

Quaz's costume is less compelling, but a William Jackson Harper ML will pair well with a Jameela Jamil Titania & they could pack in a translucent Veb.

Is that what their names are? I don't remember them ever calling them by their names in the movie. I just nicknamed them Michelle Rodriguez Lookalike and Flashlight Arnim Zola.

Vol 3 Wave as announced Today. Cosmo the Dog is the BAF. I think this wave is underwhelming. Everyone is in the blue outfits including Mantis. I was hoping Mantis was gonna be in her Green and Black outfit like the BAF

It’s too bad that the film’s nod to DnA-Guardians fans will likely miss the intended mark. Most of the MCU fans won’t even recognize the look and not understand the significance it represents. Two comments in on the front page and this is already being labeled as “lazy” and “generic.” For years canon fans like myself have asked for comic Guardians in this look, but only now that they will be attired this way in the upcoming 3rd film do we see the canon themed outfits. And, of course, with Cosmo in tow. Another instance in which something I’ve waited for patently ends up being marred by annoyance at a deliberate strategy to give what I asked for but with an infuriating M. Night ‘twist’. My, “HELLZ YEAH, COSMO,” has become, “yah, cosmo, but this other..stuff..yeah, those are things that I want, but not in this format.”

Another easy wave to pass on for me. Thanks Hasbro. Keep up the movie waves so I can give my money to NECA.

I still can't get over how lackluster that Vol 3 Wave is. I am so glad I bought all the main players from the Vol 2 waves.
![]() I am happy with the Guardians I already got. So far Kraglin is the only one I will get. |

Jeez, this Guardians wave is so underwhelming. Everyone in the same uniform makes them look boring. The lack of alternate heads with some kind of expression - angry, smiling, etc. - makes the Guardians themselves look bored. It's like how Roger Sweet described figures before "Masters of the Universe" came out - they all have blank expressions and look standing at attention. Adam Warlock also looks unfinished, with his minimal paint application and unpainted eyes. I'm also worried about future Marvel Legends figures going forward if we're only getting one accessory or two, plus or including the Build-A-Figure, for each figure going forward to keep the $25 price. After reading the leaked list of 2023 figures, I was thrilled to see what Marvel Legends was going to do this year. After seeing the Guardians figures, my excitement has diminished considerably.
Also, Hasbro, please make more non-movie Spider-Man figures of classic characters A.S.A.P. please! I'd love to see non-exclusive, easy-to-find, sold-separately Retro Spider-Man figures for characters like the Chameleon, the Vulture, Doctor Octopus with bendable wire tentacles (in his green-and-orange suit on a better body mold or his white Armani suit, take your pick), Sandman (in his classic look on a bigger, better body mold or in his Frightful Four era green armored suit, please), the Beetle, purple-and-blue suit Boomerang, Hydro-Man, Jack O'Lantern, and suit-and-tie Tombstone get made, please. It'd also be nice to get sold-separately figures of classic Eddie Brock Venom and classic Carnage, please. Then again, it'd be great to see resculpted, improved figures of classic Green Goblin with the bat-wing Goblin Glider and a better head sculpt with better eyes and a classic Hobgoblin with alternate heads, for the feet to actually stay on the Glider, and for the figure's face, costume and glider to actually look like his comic book counterpart. That Retro Hobgoblin figure was just awful. |

Why doesn't Star-Lord wear the cool helmet anymore?

I thought more marvel legends figures are to be revealed on Friday. The Guardians of the Galaxy vol.3 wave is a little early.

I actually remember reading that the real reasoning wasn’t too far from that. Apparently the helmet was uncomfortable to wear, and by the time the second movie rolled around, Pratt felt comfortable enough with Marvel/ Gunn to request that he didn’t wear it as much.
I don’t really collect MCU figures anymore, but since the Guardians are my favorite sub-franchise, I’m at least in for Warlock & Kraglin. I’ll likely grab the rest when they hit the same overstock clearance as every other MCU wave since time immemorial. Warlock is a favorite comics character of mine, so I was keen to see his figure as it would let me get a good look at his design. I like it well enough, although it suffers from the same geometric, overdesigned aesthetic as many MCU costumes, chiefly Vision. I do wish his hair was longer. Same reason why the Ant-Man helmets kept coming off even in battle. These narcissistic actors seem to think that audiences are going to forget who they are if they don't see their actual faces every 30 seconds.

I remember when Shaq's Steel came out, people questioned why his face was exposed, I remember the director's answer was "what's the point of hiring a famous "actor"* if you can't see his/her face?"
*Note I put "actor" in quote for Shaq. ![]() |

Made me think of Steve Oedekerk's masterpiece, "Thumb Wars". But not in a good way.
