I have a question for anyone who's already gotten the Emma Frost from the Ch'od wave. I'm looking at a lot of pictures and wondering, is this pretty much the same body as the original Emma Hasbro did waaaay back in 2007, just with a new face? I realize it's supposed to represent the same costume, but it looks uncannily similar.

I'm thinking I'm probably going to cave on the Ch'od wave and order the figures that come with BAF parts this weekend. Since it's the X-Men BAF wave for the year, I can usually justify that to myself as long as I just stick with that one wave. It's not because I'm particularly wanting to get Ch'od specifically, more like, aside from the Monet I already have, that's another 5 characters never done in Legends form before. Which is actually a really high percentage for 6 of the 8 to be making their character debut in the line.

Regarding Emma it's not going to change my mind to if I do or don't get her, it's more just trivial interest if it is indeed the same base body. Which again, is fine, I didn't have a problem with the body from 2007, just the head, which looks great on this new figure.

They don't share any parts and the body itself is much better proportioned than the 2007 one.

Lordbest is correct, Nash, they share no parts and the new one is a vast improvement. They seem similar because they represent the same uni, as you mentioned, but that's where the similarities end. I have both, so I speak from a perspective of firsthand knowledge. It's a great fig, one of the better ones in the wave, and the only one with all unique/new parts.

EDIT: The only drawback, IMO, is that the cape limits the articulation of her arms, and, best I can tell, the cape cannot be removed without unpegging it from her chest leaving the holes where the cape slots in.

It really is a great figure. I was excited for it and it still exceeded my expectations. I haven't even had trouble with the heels and getting the figure to stand.

Agreed. Only the cape bugs me, not even the face, which in hand looks much better and is a decent to good likeness of the Whedon/Cassaday Astonishing Emma.

Oh good, thank you both! That helps to justify getting it, at least. In my mind anyways. Sigh. I should just make a new rule for me, I'm passing on many things but I'm still open to getting the X-Men related waves, even if it's mainly figures I had no real interest in. I feel like I gotta complete one BAF a year or something lol

I think that if you trimmed off the plastic cape and glued on a wired cloth version her figure would shine. the attachment scheme is a cool concept. It just suffers because the plastic version is so heavy.

For years I’ve avoided wire capes and aftermarket goods that accentuate these figures, holding to a private notion that they somehow marred the factory designs. Additionally, the capes weren’t very satisfying in their initial incarnations making it easier to validate a closed mind. I’ve since softened my opinion, obviously, as is evident in some recent pics I’ve taken, but they can still be hit or miss imo. I agree that a soft goods wired cape might take this Emma from a lowkey gem, to a more widely held consensus that it’s a great figure. I’ll be on the lookout for some solutions, but I still dig the unaltered figure.

From the last big leak/rumor list we've still got a whole other wave of No Way Home figures and then a wave which just seems to be MCU catch-up, there's also the next Disney+ assortment but we have seen some low-quality leaks of that one.

Said respectfully: please dish the details please. This sounds fun

Also, from the posts above, I love the pictures! It inspired me to get the Hyperion/Dr. Spectrum 2-pack.

From what I remember/can easily look up;
Disney+ (pictures of this wave exist): Yelena and Kingpin from Hawkeye, Nick Fury and Talos from Secret Invasion, Gamora and someone else from What If...?, and Agatha from Wandavision. BAF looks like it might be a different take on the Hydra stomper.

No Way Home: The 3 Spider-Men as singles, Lawyer Matt Murdock, MJ, Sandman, Green Goblin, BAF unknown.

MCU: Iron Man and Spider-Man from Civil War, Stealth Cap, Black Widow from Winter Soldier, Iron Man mkII (the silver one), Thor from Dark World, and an unspecified Nick Fury. BAF unknown.

Those latter two are strictly rumor level at this point but they came from the same source that accurately leaked everything else we've seen so far this year. It's also possible that these two might not have BAFs as said leaker assumed the comic Spidey wave (featuring Tarantula and Rose) would be a standard BAF wave but things turned out differently.

Oh thank you! Yes, I remember these rumors attributed to Rektangular. Sorry, I was thinking there were rumored new waves in addition to these. Thank you! They are on page 3099 in this thread. I revisit those spoilers with frequency.

We'll also have a wave and likely additional figures for The Marvels, though much of that will probably be MCU, not comics figures. Since that comes out in November, I'm thinking the figures will start showing up in September. Which sounds like a long time away but it's only three months.

There should also likely be a vintage wave that's technically for 2024 but starts getting shipped and seen late this year.

Also curious if there will be any more X-Men related stuff for this year. It seems that with the Deluxe Blob, Rogue, Vintage and Ch'od waves, the two 3-packs, and the 5 villains set (and anything else I may be missing) we've got plenty of X-Men releases, but it's all heavy fronted in the first half o the year. In fact, all released at this point. That's 26 X-Men related figures which is actually a large amount. But will be weird if there's nothing else the second half of the year.

ETA: I forgot to take into account any X-Men animated series figures, which actually bumps the number up. I'm just not interest in that at all though, so it's no wonder I forgot about it.

I do think another X-men wave will likely be squeezed in before the end of the fiscal year. I’d prefer something else in this window of opportunity - the MCU’s current doldrums see Hasbro delivering on deep canon wants and I’m here for every bit of it – but I’ll gladly take some X-related dial-ups (especially if one is Belasco). The X-men are almost always popular, but I think the semi-tepid/reticent response to the Ch’od wave might have them wanting another bite at the apple.

That's what happens when we don't have a Wolverine or Deadpool in a wave I guess. I wonder if Fang had an alternate Wolverine head -which it really should have and I'm surprised it didn't - if the interest would have increased in it.

Regardless, it would be great for another X-Men wave to hit this year, or barring that having a couple more 2/3 packs.

What's interesting to me, if we count the vintage wave for 2023, and count Dark Phoenix as a Jean figure, we've gotten a lot of high profile characters made. I'm surprised we didn't get a second Nightcrawler version of something yet. It's been almost four years since that figure came out and you'd think with all of the unique sculpting it has that they'd want to reuse it at least once.

Yeah, especially if you are actually trying to hear the dialog. The audio mixing is atrocious.

The movie itself was very good, though not better than the first. A lot of cool eastereggs, but I am disappointed Toei Spidey is not in the film after all of those rumors of him appearing.

There's a lot more I'd like to say, but I'll hold my fingers for now.

I thought his appearance on one of the movie posters confirmed he was in but I guess not. Not that I thought he was going to be a focal point of the movie but his no show is pretty disappointing for me to hear.

I've seen a video listing off the various spider people that were in the headquarters scene and Toei Spidey was listed but, I dont know...doesn't seem to actually look like him. And I can say that for some of the others that were listed in the video as well.

Also, cant believe that Electric Company and Nicholas Hammond Spideys weren't included. With no relevant ties with modern fans, I think time may have just passed them by.

Enjoyed the film all the same. It did leave me with a constant flashing sensation later in the day. The same kind I would get when I played video games for far too long, back when I played them.
