I didn't notice that until you posted this. That's strange.

Today's reveal looks to be a re-issue of the Space Venom BAF and Manic, a character with whom I'm unfamiliar. The BAF has an added head and symbiote-bits hand accessories. I’m not a Venom guy, so this isn't on my radar.

It's due to the way they molded his tantacle holder thingy. It's in the very center of his back so the tentacles can come out to the sides as opposed to the previous Ock toy having them come out of his back, which is inaccurate.

It does suck though. Surely there was something they could have done. However, unlike the comic Ock, he does have a ball joint at the waist.

Also love the curled webbing on the other one, in tandem with his arched pose, it really conveys that he's mid-move and his webbing hasn't hit it's destination yet-thats how it reads to me anyway.

Thanks, Dee! It’s nice to know that some of the things I try to achieve are successfully conveyed to people viewing the results. Yes, I purposely curled the wire to give the illusion we’ve seen so often in books of Spidey’s web-lines seeking an attachment point somewhere off in the distance. Thank you as well for noting the sense of motion I attempt to infuse into many of my poses.

As for the Surfer vs Spidey pics from How to Draw the Marvel Way, you’re gonna make me check it when I get home! (Yes, I still have the original copy that I bought in the 80’s and have lugged it around since leaving home following college) That wasn’t an intended reference for my pics, but, given that you’re an illustrator, I’m sure you know how things sometimes unintentionally get stuck in your mind. It’s the reason why I don’t look at many photos of other action figure photo enthusiasts; I don’t want to unconsciously reproduce the things I see in their pics out of respect for their expression.

Man, I totally want Mania, but I have a Space Venom already. Heck I have THAT Space Venom already, save for the extra parts. I'll probably go in for it. I suppose I could always sell one of the Venoms once I have the set in hand.

I think I and on board for this. Always liked the Space Venom figure, and the BAF Space Venom is going for a pretty penny on the secondary market. The second character I know nothing about as well, but the figure does look interesting.

Note: Are we all noticing that with most of the 2 packs, one figure is a total reuse and the other figure is re-tooled or on a new body mold. Why can’t they just be two new molds for a 2 pack! Just my rant.

Hasbro will have to produce a Marvel Legends Titania now that I’ve finished mine.

I know, but still.

Now Hasbro really does need to give us a Romita Sr Spidey in Legends.

Yeah he's a legend

They've probably had his figure ready to go for 3 years.

Well given all they have to do is repaint the Amazing Fantasy 15 Spidey in the Romita colors with the light blue and proper spider emblem, it would make sense.

Wouldn't it have to be a different/taller body instead, like the Retro Spider-Man body from the original Retro wave with Daredevil, Electro and Green Goblin? When Romita Sr. was drawing Spider-Man, Peter was in college and was at his normal 5' 10" height by/around that time. I'd love to see an alternate Peter Parker civilian head based on John Romita Sr.'s art to go along with it and, as mentioned, the proper chest spider emblem with the legs out to the sides, but I doubt that we'd get that lucky. John Romita Sr. is my favorite comic book artist, so losing him has hit me pretty hard. Rest In Peace, legend.
