Not every complaint about Brie Larson is unfounded misogyny.

Never said it was. But it's also not a coincidence that a character that doesn't emote in a traditionally feminine way played by an outspoken actress is being subjected to an unusually high level of vitriol from male fans in particular.

Perhaps but by comparison to many an actress larson is pretty dull and wooden. She just doesnt seem to be excited about the role and it feels like shes just phoning it in for a check. Honestly i hope this is her last outing as the main captain marvel. Maybe monica will take over as the main cap marvel. That actress seems to have some enthusiasm for the role ( plus photon was one of my fave characters in the role in the comics).

I wouldn't hate that, I love MCU Monica and comic Monica had the Captain Marvel title before Danvers so it would be kind of fitting in a way.

I'm looking forward to the movie for both Monica and Khamala. I also hope Rogue shows up.

No.

Carol Danvers was and still will always be known as Binary. a friend/ally of the X-Men back in the original Uncanny X-Men comic book.

as for the name Captain Marvel in Marvel Comics, there's only one Captain Marvel that i grew up with.

and that is Mar-Vell aka Walter Lawson. the classic outfit

That black widow figure would be perfect for a custom figure of the wacky 1998 Avengers movie Emma Peel

You implied it. HEAVILY. I had forgotten that it's impossible nowadays to simply not like someone in a roll. Nevermind the fact that I said nothing about her other than I found her "petulant" and "not a believable bad ass." Which all has to do with her in roll and what I found to be a poor performance. Rather than offer counter points as to why you found her to be solid in the roll you went straight to "vitriol".

Maybe it's not all her fault. The script was absolute garbage too. So, it's possible that she was directed poorly,"Be angry! You're angry! NO! NOT angry ENOUGH! Ok. Now be wooden angry! You don't like anything! Even the things you like."

Lol I'm excited too, but I’m most looking forward to seeing the notification for Fix-it, even though he's just an updated reissue of the BAF, with a bit more effort added – this 2,0 shit is really grinding me down a bit – get it right the first time as I don’t need a ‘change of clothes’ for Joe.

I saw that your Battle-Cat is coming! Nice, that thing is a true beast of a toy!

Not legends related, but thought I'd confess...Hasbro snagged me for another Haslab Project with the Ghost. Lawdy it's expensive but looks so so good.

guess I'm not 100% opposed to future Haslabs after all.

Don't feel bad, if I were into SW (or 3.75 scale) I would have gladly backed the Ghost. It looks amazing.

They seem to be cutting their teeth on vehicles possibly in preparation for the Blackbird, or, maybe, the Milano.

That's entirely possible. I don't know if I'd get either, it would have to be something that really looked amazing. The Ghost just had so many features, even crew quarters and beds. How could I possibly pass that up.

It's funny as you mention being into the 3.75 scale. If I had the money and space I would start collecting the SW Black Series but it's not feasible. Marvel got me with the Universe figures 10-15 years ago, but it's slightly easier to justify getting a second line when it's smaller and cheaper than the first line you collect. Getting a second line that scales up, especially when there's years of product already released, is daunting enough for me to opt out of it.

went to the walmart store earlier today to mostly look around to get Evil Dead II for blu ray because of the new halloween slipcover and a halloween holiday t shirt.

i also was looking a bottom shelf of a rack where the bottom had a bunch of Marvel Legends figures and I was surprised to seee pretty much all of them in stock

Ultron
Egghead
Ant Man 3 figures: the weird looking Future Ant Man, regular Ant Man even 2 or 3 Kangs

and some of the Marvel Legends Awesome Hulk wave Iron Man, Commander Rogers, Marvel Boy were in stock along with the 3 leading females from the Captain Marvels movie

The whole 2.0 thing bugs me quite a bit too...but at least this Joe comes with extra parts that allow you to "fix" the previous, uninspired BAF. I removed the hands and hat off the previous and quickly swapped on the new parts. Dremeled out the hat so it will fit on the new head. I also swapped the shoes, opting to give the new Fixit the black and white wingtips.

For once...I didn't feel so bad getting the 2.0 because everything works perfectly with the older one. I used to hate the old BAF. Now...I can't figure out which version of Joe I like more.

Very nice, Triv, your tweaks make for an even better update of this already pretty good redraft. I’m still waiting for my Fixit to arrive, but it was clear to see in promotional photos that this singular release is considerably better than the original, if only for the great head sculpt and pinstripe paint.

At this point, I’m nearly convinced that the 2.0 strategy is just that, an intentional fumble (especially on iconic characters that are supported by fan interest) to provide a legitimate need for revisits. Hasbro is more than happy to double dip and I don’t believe it will be long before we see tweaks to other new figs like Tarantula. Hasbro has done so well with this that it seems that McFar has also adopted the tactic.

By the way, what Marvel comic book is the Marvel Legends Egghead from? Did Marvel steal the Egghead character from the old 1960s Batman show or something?

When is Hasbro going to do a Marvel Legends MCU Flag Smasher with alternate unmasked Karli Morgenthau head? I'd double dip so I could finally get a maskless head for Black Series Enfys Nest. I might even get a third to customize Willow's Jade Claymore.

He's an Ant-Man villain dating back to '62, at one point he even led the Masters of Evil but his primary target was still Hank Pym.
