that new movie action figure of Doc Ock... so how does he put shirts on in the first place when his robot helper arms and that thing on his waist are fused to his body?

LOL yeah, they pretty much made a Crimson Cowl and renamed it. When you're aping looks, Marvel, remember some of us are old enough to remember the originals.
Were a bit of opposites on this wave, except for Justice and PP. Everything in this wave is a win for my collection. AND, FINALLY, Hasbro provided fists for this Namor and my previous two! They're doing great getting those New Warriors made but it really irks me big time that they gave us half the OG 'Bolts and just stopped....even the recent Moonstone was from the revamped series and look, couldn't even give her the Meteorite look. Ah well..I'll just be glad we got Songbird, Citizen V and Mach...II? out of it. |

They sure did. And there's like zero chance CC would ever get a figure. She played a big role in the OG Thunderbolt series....which Hasbro apparently forgotten existed. Probably why Graviton's never getting made either....much less an actual BAF for Atlas.

We'll probably see some more Thunderbolts as slot fillers in the movie wave.

that new Namor figure. Jeez. Not the kind of Namor i grew up with back then in the early 1990s.
the new Namor figure looks more like a crazy looking Jason Mamoa figure |

I remember Namor (and many other heroes at the time) from the 90’s. So much so that I have an omnibus of his title from the period:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Similar to Red Widow (and life, in general), what’s old is new again at the “house of ideas.” To each their own, but I like this upcoming Namor for a few different reasons. We all go through awkward phases in life, make-believe superheroes included. "Imperius Rex!" |

The only figures I want from that wave is Crystar and the Void, I'm just a sucker for figures in translucent plastic.

It’s Hasbro’s game of one-upmanship with the few remaining Toy Biz standouts. Just like MODOK, Giant Man, Mysterio, Shocker, etc, gold gilded Panther was a remaining highwater mark fig for Toy Biz and Hasbro is attempting to erase it from memory. The look is from the very popular Chris Priest run on the book and many collectors have been requesting it. I haven’t called for one, but I am a fan of the book and the look and am happy to get this. It’s a deep cut that may go unrecognized by many collectors.

Kirby's version is the definitive 'classic' look for Panther. However, the look from the Priest/Texeria run is the 'modern-classic' given the popularity of the run. Toy Biz played a significant role in cementing it as an iconic look.

Just spotted rows of Fury, Kingpin, & Scarlet Witch at Target. Couldn't pass on Wanda, but left the rest.

The 2018 BAF Venom from the first dedicated Venom wave is definitely the Mac version. He's got the hulking frame, his version of the spider, the purple hues, and the separated claw-toes.

EDIT: But wait, I just checked the deluxe and it also has clawed toes. Is that an error? Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 09-23-2023 at 03:08 PM.. |

It's possible that some artists post-Mac have given other Venoms the toes too, but the easiest explanation is just that the deluxe is a direct repaint of the BAF so it was easier to not make any sculpt adjustments.

I should've brought this up yesterday, but what do people make of the poll that Red Widow won, about the character who was released as just a head previously?
Assuming it's X-Factor Wolfsbane, but it could be Lilandra instead since she's rumored to be in a Wolverine 2 pack. Madcap is another but unlikely. Is there anyone else that fits that? |
