well we got the Deadpool and Wolverine Trailer today. Dan Yun told us patience is the key regarding these movies figures.

It's like bro we MCU collectors haven't had any new figures to get excited for since the NWH figures came out in November how much more patience do you want us to have?

I mean he’s correct. There’s usually contractual things with other outlets that tend to be involved when it comes to new MCU figures. That’s why most of the time new releases tend to get dropped by sites like Entertainment Weekly or IGN instead of the livestreams or social media.

That figure was fine for the time but desperately needs updating with pinless joints and ditching that ugly waist cut swivel. The body should be less beefy as well most of the artwork depicts him as lean and shredded.

I agree. But want the opposite as far as body size goes. The buck they are currently using is too short. Surfer is around 6'4". I'd also like a beefier 80's style Ron Lim Silver Surfer. Use the Vulcan buck, But if possible an updated version that features the rib swivel and ab crunch (I agree the cut joint is unsightly). Drop on the May Thamtarana sculpted head from the Galactus HasLab, a new SHORT board with a contoured bottom (not a cheap POS that he can barely stand upon), a swooshing effect stand, which the back of the board plugs into and a couple new hand effects. One of which is an "I'm shooting wide Power Cosmic blasts from my hand". I'd be fine if they priced it at 35 bucks so the board and effects actually look good.

Honestly if I had a black copy of the Vulcan buck and a cast black copy of the HasLab Surfer head I would break out my airbrush and give the 3-stage chroming process a go. Then just make a board.

I'm hoping if the FF movie gets made we'll get some classic characters. Like a much needed pinless classic or neo-classic Adam Warlock. Also would really like a Midnight Son. I'm one of like 3 people that want that character. LOL

Seems like Marvel is going to run with a stupid "What If..." style story in which Shalla-Bal becomes a Herald and Norrin is relegated to backup status. If they actually go that direction I'll be inconsolably pissed.

I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. However, come correct. I didn't state or imply they were "woking" up Surfer. That's you jumping to conclusions. Reread my post, son. My issue is them doing a "What If" story instead of handling my favorite character in a manner that makes me actually want to watch a Marvel film.

And while the restock of the Walmart fig that I already have 3 of (along with 3 Surfer blacks – and 4 Halab versions) might be sold-out for a variety of reasons (i.e. scarcity of the original exclusive, under-appreciation of the character’s popularity, etc) it is sold-out, nonetheless. As it was when it was first released indicating there's interest out there. I tend to believe that there are potentially at least as many fans of Surfer as there are of the FF. He did support his own book, which I - obviously – collected, as a committed fan. A title that birthed the Infinity Gauntlet, the comic arc that essentially set up the crescendo of the MCU’s phase ‘whatever.’ I say “whatever” because I became disinvested in the MCU very, very early on. Possibly, around the time of Thor 2, so what they do doesn’t really matter in the scheme of things, to me. My disinterest doesn’t align with anything other than a want for stories consistent with canon. While I found enjoyment in ‘Age of Ultron’ it suffered in my eyes due to Tony birthing the character. The same was true for how Antman was worked out using Scott Lang as the protagonist alongside an elderly Hank. If Norrin isn’t the big screen’s latest iteration of the Silver Surfer, I’ve no intention to watch an FF film featuring such a change. Which is no big loss as I’ve skipped most of the movies.

Whatever the reasoning is behind Disney potentially putting a spin on Surfer’s characterization, there’s canonical diversity to mine among Galactus’ heralds without changing things up. There’s Frankie Raye, of course. Even a Surfer-empowered Alicia Masters. And Stardust has been portrayed as male, female, and ambiguous/fluid throughout interpretations.

I don’t believe our druthers on the MCU coincide as closely as you might think. You’ve been vocal about changing ethnicities, while I’ve been put off by changes ‘period.’ If it’s in the comics, I’m good. Zero issues with Miles Morales, Falc-Cap, Robbie Reyes, LGBTQ Herc, or Jane Thor. That said, if FF fails, I don’t see there being another reboot. They’ve got to nail it.
