From the Hasbro Livestream:
Must Haves: 1. Odin 2. Blackheart Maybe: 3. Cabal 3 pack Note: This Livestream was very underwhelming IMO. Not very excited for most of these figures.

Are you kdding? This was the best livestream they had in a while. It's been a long time since they showed me something I wanted to buy. Their presentation was on point and well paced too.

These reveals were quite pleasant surprises, for me. Hasbro’s run since the decline of the MCU has delivered more of my wants than any other period during their long tenure with the license. While many fans/collectors have been upset with the current state of the movies, Hasbro has been quietly serving up fanservice on a level/depth that’s truly unprecedented. As people try to poo’poo this, I’m beginning to think that what people really do want is an endless parade of Caps, Thors, Ironmen, Spideys, and MCU figs.
Thanks for Hellstrom and Blackheart, HasBros! Samaritan Thanos (with Skreet), Xenith, Ravenous, Stardust, Redshift, Seth, Perrikus, and Mangog please… |

How do we think the Deadpool & Wolverine series will play out?
all figures from this movie movie & comics mix mix with other MCU BAF or none?

Aside from Phoenix, none of the reveals made me want to pre-order and buy them. My interest has always been in any and everything Marvel from 1999 and earlier, especially for Spider-Man, Hulk, the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men. The lack of Spider-Man content is especially disappointing, since this is the 30th anniversary for "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" and we've had two mediocre two-packs that had characters who never interacted paired together and long-requested figures like Felicia Hardy, Alistair Smythe in his hoverchair, the Kingpin, Mysterio, the Shocker, the Chameleon and the Punisher are all M.I.A. The fact that Spider-Man was foolishly sold as a limited Wal-Mart exclusive and we got an inaccurate looking Green Goblin didn't help, either. I'm also curious what the next Spider-Man wave for this year will be and when it will be released, since the second wave was supposed to be based on the delayed third 'Spider-Verse' film.
The "Strange Tales" wave was also underwhelming with the absence of the Gene Colan Dracula (which, if Hasbro even reads The Fwoosh anymore, they should know has been on fans' Top 10 lists for years now), no Baron Mordo, no Werewolf by Night, and Hellverine is just another brown-and-tan version of Wolverine that isn't classic hogging up space. I'm also hopeful that we'll see more Fantastic Four and Hulk content over the next few years. With the 'Fantastic Four' film next year, I'm hopeful we'll see more comic book based figures made along with the movie wave. I'd love to see new figures for the Mole Man, the Wizard, She-Hulk in her Fantastic Four uniform, "opera gloves" suit Invisible Woman (not the two-piece suit, the sleeveless one after from 1995), the Thing in his hat and trenchcoat or his F.F. blue jumpsuit, and maybe a two-pack for the Puppet Master and Alicia Masters. Also, for the Hulk (who is SORELY in need of more Marvel Legends attention), I'm hoping for a sold-separately savage Hulk I can afford, the Frankenstein-looking Hulk from "The Avengers" #1 based on Jack Kirby's art, the Ringmaster, Tyrannus, the U-Foes, classic Abomination, the Leader in his orange-and-black suit with the "Jiffy Pop" brain, General "Thunderbolt" Ross, a Bruce Banner with purple pants in a two-pack with Betty Ross, and a Deluxe Merged Hulk in his brown jumpsuit from when he was on the Pantheon. I'm hopeful we can at least get a Retro The Incredible Hulk wave in 2026 in honor of the U.P.N. animated series' 30th anniversary. And don't even get me started on my Avengers wish-list. To add to TheBlueMarvel's comments, I don't exactly wany an "endless parade" of popular characters like Cap, Thor, Iron Man, Spidey and the M.C.U., but I DO expect easier-to-find, non-exclusive, affordable ever-green figures of popular characters like them. Entertainment Earth never sent me my 20th anniversary Captain America and I wasn't able to find and buy him. Thor hasn't been released since the 80th anniversary, though he has been reused for the Ragnarok figure. The last classic looking Spider-Man figures have been store exclusives, in two-packs or three-packs, and haven't been sold separately since the first Retro Spider-Man wave. And with all of the delays and reshoots for new M.C.U. figures, those keep getting pushed back, while figures from projects like Pietro and the Halloween costumes for Wanda, Vision, Pietro, etc., from "WandaVision", the characters from "Loki" season two, and characters from previous M.C.U. films like 'Homecoming' Shocker haven't been made yet. And I'm saying this until Hasbro cracks - I need a classic green-and-orange suit Deluxe figure for Doc Ock that's sold separately, has a new body mold, and the bendable wire tentacles. I'm very shocked that Hasbro has yet to have "evergreen" figures of popular characters at least every two years for new collectors to get easier access to find, pre-order and buy their most popular characters that aren't Iron Man and Wolverine. Personally, I just want the overtly-secret reveals and cameos in M.C.U. film eras to be over and done with. I am so sick of waiting two years to possibly see one of my favorite characters get made into a film because Marvel Studios wants to reveal as little as possible in their trailers. The absence of new figures for the Lizard and Electro from the 'No Way Home' wave, yet M.J. and Matt Murdock (who made a mere cameo in the film) got figures, still has me scratching my head. (As a side note, I'm hoping we get two Electro figures - one with the green-and-yellow jack and then one of the "Final Battle" look without the jacket). At this point, I'm expecting to see the 'Deadpool & Wolverine' figures revealed in August and new figures of surprise cameo characters released about some time in late 2025/early 2026 at this point.

MCU figures aren't delayed because of trailers; it's because the studio didn't give Hasbro reference early enough.

@EvilMonkeyPope - True. My point was/is that I'm tired of having to wait a year or longer after to see figures of characters from M.C.U. films go on sale instead of being released in a wave the same year that the film is released. When we got the figures for the first 'X-Men' movie in 2000, fans didn't wait until 2002 to see figures made for characters like Wolverine, Storm or Magneto. With 'Deadpool & Wolverine', Hasbro has yet to reveal Wolverine in his yellow-and-blue suit as a new figure. I get that things are different, movies and toys are made differently now, and that Covid changed the way everyone did everything in terms of films and making products like toys. I just wish we got to see more figures of characters from the film ready, made, and released the same year the movie gets released, is all.

I seriously doubt this will be the last Strange Tales outing. Hasbro often test-runs branding and it wouldn’t surprise me if this is simply a place-holder title to feature supernatural figs in absence of a splash-MCU feature. They will do Baron Mordo. And The Ancient One. And Umar. And Retro Blade. And. And…

Hasbro could release Deadpool and Wolverine in his yellow outfit single packed then do the full wave later after the movie is out, We all know what DP and Wolverine look like in the movie. Believe me you're not the only collector getting fed up with it. I mean they did do two NWH waves The armadillo BAF wave which only had MCU Dr Strange and Spider-Man and the one with just movie figures. so you could do the same there. I know some on the thread liked and disliked the recent livestream…I was one of the ones that disliked it, some of offering were just to my cup of tea…I also felt like Hasbro is holding back on figures they can do or update…Like…
Overall Top Ten: 1. Thanos (Update) 2. Abomination (Update) 3. Absorbing Man (Update) 4. Annihilus 5. Red Skull (Update) 6. Crimson Dynamo 7. Crystal 8. Doc Samson 9. Skurge 10. Lockjaw 11. Mephisto Note: if you notice my list, most of the figures have not been done before, and I think Hasbro should have made and attempt at some of them, considering that some are fan favorites, and other have been waiting years for some of them to be made…At the end of the day, to each is own, but IMO Hasbro could have went a easier route on popular figures that have not been produced before and more money for them…

Well, now that Destiny is happening, my top 10 has changed. I've also lost interest in wanting to finish Excalibur and X-Force.

Is it me or is it odd that we haven't gotten newer costumes for Jean and Storm? The newest version of Jean is her Jim Lee costume and aside from that TRU exclusive the same is true for Storm.

Since I saw a few Top 10 lists, this would be my current list:
- Captain America [classic scaly chainmail with alternate smiling head and round shield without holes in it] - Doctor Octopus [green-and-orange suit with bendable wire tentacles as a solo release] - Spider-Man [classic red-and-blue suit/John Romita Sr. art-based with late-'60s chest spider emblem and alternate Peter Parker head] - Mary Jane Watson [first appearance with smiling head sculpt] - Hulk [Merged/Professor in brown Pantheon-era jumpsuit as a Deluxe release, with butterfly shoulders and alternate clapping hands] - Thor [classic with cloth cape, Mjolnir and snap-on lightning effect accessory] - Invisible Woman [1995 "opera gloves" Fantastic Four suit, not the two-piece version] - Jubilee [Generation X with multi-colored fireworks hand blasts] - Storm [black Outback suit] - Colossus [updated classic/Astonishing X-Men suit] In regards to the new Marvel Legends news next week, I'm hopeful we'll see something Spider-Man related soon. We still have two VHS packaged/animated series two-packs left to be revealed, right? |
