Both have their positives and negatives, but I think after this I'm going to stick with the Hasbro one.

I hope not, especially for the X-Men ones. I'd rather have a real X-Men wave.

As for the Spider-Man stuff, jeez, that would be way too many Spidey variants with no villains.

With respect, Dr Kain, I disagree. If we're getting new Fox 'X-Men' movie figures, I'd be over the moon with happiness! I was so disappointed that the anniversary figures for the 'X-Men' film series in 2020 LEFT OUT THE X-MEN. If these listings are true, Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops and Nightcrawler are insta-buys if they're based on the original trilogy cast. Frankly, I hope this means we'll get Iceman, Rogue and Magneto sooner than later.

Oof, those Spider-Man reveals. Oh, sweet baby Jeebus, no. No, no.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, NO.

Who is asking for a figure of Spider-Boy when we can't even get the Chameleon, the Vulture, Armani suit Doc Ock, purple-and-blue suit Boomerang and classic Kaine made? Heck, where is Overdrive?!? I'll even take a new updated classic Spider-Man! Romita Sr. art based, or McFarlane based, Bagley, Frenz, Wieringo -- any look would do!

I am so sick of the Retro Spider-Man waves being filled up with dud characters. We're getting a Wal-Mart exclusive only classic Venom and a mass release for Slyde? Whoever is in charge of the Spider-Man waves needs to be replaced A.S.A.P. Was anyone REALLY asking for a Spider-Boy figure or for an Arachno-Man that I'm not aware of? I've never been a huge fan of Dan Slott's Spider-Man work and the current Amazing Spider-Man run by writer Zeb Wells is the worst I've ever read, even moreso than the Mackie/Byrne run, so any time we get figures by Slott and Wells makes me cringe.

This news is made even more infuriating by the fact that we have no idea what the next Spider-Man wave will be, or IF we'll even get one, for 2024. Having to wait until February to get new Spider-Man figures is so disappointing. I get that Covid and the strikes were a big part as to why 'Across the Spider-Verse' and its toys were delayed. I really do. But Hasbro really needs to have some "Plan B" waves on standby to reshuffle the next time something like this happens. I really hope we get a better selection of Spider-Man characters in the future.

After reading this news, I really hope the "Secret Wars" wave reveals knock my socks off, releases some A-list characters and builds my excitement back up. This Spider-Man news had the opposite effect for me.

I saw that list too, but no source mentioned. It'll save me a whole lot of Money if it's accurate, but most likely it's someone's wishlist they're trying to pass off as leaks for post karma

I really, REALLY hope the Spider-Man wave isn't real. I hope it's like that leaked wave from a few years back that had Carnage, Jack O'Lantern, Uncle Ben and three other characters listed and it turned out to be a fake. If it is real, these figures are going to shelfwarm very, VERY badly. I get there are people who wanted toys for Hypno-Hustler and Princess Python, but I don't see them selling out for long and the lack of A-list villains, allies, and/or Spider-Men is really going to hurt that wave.

I'd love a Kelsey Grammar Beast. I know it will be based of off X3 though I wish it was based off his look from the The Marvels post credit scene.

@ThorOdinson123 - I'm sure they'll get around to a new Marvel Legends figure of Beast in that look, especially if Kelsey Grammer gets asked back for a Multiverse film like 'Avengers: Secret Wars'. I think we might see figures of the surprise cameo characters from 'Deadpool & Wolverine' before we get a new 'The Marvels' Beast, but as always, I'm 99% confident in saying I'm sure I'm wrong on that.

I'll be happy for you then.

I'm just hoping we can finally get some real X-Men movies now. First Class was the only one that was actually any good and then they had to go and fuck that up with Days of Future Past. To be fair though, DOFP seems quite tame compared to what came after. Shit, even X3 wasn't THAT bad.

We need The Enforcers, Belladonna, Gibbon, Will'O Wisp, Grizzly, Styx and Stone, Jonathan Caesar, Man Mountain Marko, and Cardiac well before those dudes.

What exactly makes this Wells dude so bad? Because the only thing I ever hear about is some dude named Paul and people are pissed off because MJ married him. I don't get the issue because since they have stated they are never going to get Peter and MJ together again is she supposed to remain single for the remainder of her existence?

The only way I could see myself buying anything in a Secret Wars wave is if there are X-Men/Spider-Man characters I need to have because the comic itself sucked.

Yes, it was that bad. It really, REALLY was.

Quote:

From 2019, yes, fans do. I missed out on him when he came out. Besides, Vulture needs an upgrade. Also, people have been asking for the youthful/armored suit version of Vulture, so I'd take seeing Vulture than Spider-Boy.

Quote:

And we likely will, for the most part. I don't see Jonathon Caesar being made, though, and it's rumored Cardiac can't due to licensing issues with Erik Larsen. I don't know if that's true or not, but it'd explain why Cardiac hasn't been made yet. But that said, it doesn't help collectors who are starting their collection get a figure of Vulture, Doc Ock, etc. Just because you and I got a figure of a popular character, that doesn't mean new collectors should have to wait X years to get a Green Goblin or Lizard or have to pay $50 to $80 for a previous figure of said character. Green Goblin and Electro haven't had new figures since 2020, Hobgoblin's 2021 figure was lackluster, Doc Ock hasn't had a new comic book based figure on an updated body mold since 2018, and as I said, Venom is a Walmart con exclusive instead of a wide release figure. I get that other heroes, villains, civilian characters and Spider-Men need to be made first, but this X-year wait to get a new figure made of a popular hero or villain for new collectors is ridiculous.

Oh, man, you REALLY need to catch up. This is the guy who had Peter work for Norman Osborn for almost all of his run, needed Norman and his tech to help him in battle as couldn't win his own fights on his own against enemies he's fought before and defeated since he was 15 with the Vulture being the worst example, had everyone from the Avengers to the Fantastic Four hate him for no reason (that turned out to be he asked them to help him get M.J. and Paul free, but they didn't so he turned to Norman for help), has both fought with Tombstone and been turned evil three different times in two+ years, was infected by Norman Osborn's sins TWICE and had no lasting ramifications of being turned evil, killed off Kamala Khan for no reason (and it's rumored it was supposed to be M.J. who would've died until it had to be changed), has had Peter treated like garbage by Mary Jane and his friends for no reason, M.J. has been with Paul for no reason and helped him take in two magicically-created kids for eight or so issues that Wells couldn't get the name of the girl right (she went from being named Romy to Stephanie to Romi and had to fix it by saying "Romy" is a nickname) and the kids ultimately died/vanished, did nothing with the Sinister Six in the 900th issue, had Peter date Felicia for a handful of issues but we never actually saw any development on that and then he broke them up (especially before guest writer/upcoming 10-issue writer Joe Kelly had Peter tell Felicia he now loved Mary Jane "like a sister" during this time), etc., etc. Seriously, I'm not doing justice to how badly the garbage dump that is Zeb Wells' run has been. Also, Mary Jane and Paul are NOT married. That was listed in a recap page in one of Zeb Wells' issues and Marvel confirmed it was a mistake.

Quote:

Whether the comic itself sucked or not is irrelevant to me. I believe the revealed SDCC brown-and-tan suit Wolverine MIGHT be one of the six figures and that'd be fine with me. I'm curious, and nervous, about who the other five figures could actually be, though. There are a LOT of characters that need updating and first-time figures and we're getting six figures of a toyline from Mattel that originally had eight characters. I could see it being Captain America, Iron Man, a Spider-Man (classic or black suit), Wolverine, Magneto and Doctor Doom or Doctor Octopus. Doc Ock seems unlikely because he'd probably be a Deluxe release, Doom could be either classic or a repainted toy-accurate version of the Captain Marvel two-pack figure from last year, and Kang seems unlikely due to getting previous new releases. I'd personally love to buy Captain America and Doc Ock, since I missed their previous figures and don't want to cough up $65 on the re-released two-pack of Doc Ock with Silk. There are other characters that fans would love to see more, and rightfully so, from Titania and the Absorbing Man to the Wrecking Crew. Heck, I'm hoping for new figures for Hulk, Thor, Cyclops, Colossus, Rogue, the Lizard, Enchantress and Klaw, whether it's from "Secret Wars" or future Marvel Legends waves. I'd even take Daredevil, Falcon, Hobgoblin, Constrictor, Electro and Iceman. Whatever Hasbro ends up doing for "Secret Wars", I hope it carries on into 2025 as well.

Just remember guys, when the last batch of Fox figures cam out, this was “Wolverine”.

While I do like that figure, everyone was wanting and expecting this.

As for the rest of the figures, they could be X2 versions. But they could also be X-Men: Apocalypse versions as well. All of those characters are in both films.

Across the Spiderverse wave 2 all have unmasked heads and we get a civilian spider-punk. Collider broke the news. Also Civilian Hobe comes with an unmasked head for the first Spider-Punk release

Not sure what the year has to do with anything since there have been plenty of characters who haven't come out in years. Now the youthful version makes sense and just saying Young Vulture would have not made your comment confusing.

Why not? They gave us Human Fly and Wart Hog. They'er far less important to Caesar.

But then those take up slots that could be given to new figures. I'm all for redoing classic villains in updated molds, but when they are only doing 1-2 villains a wave, I'd rather have a new villain. Maybe instead of having 4 Spidey variants they could do 3 variants and one redo of a big name villain so we can still get 2 first time villains.

BTW, we just got the definitive Lizard figure last year.

Quote:
Green Goblin and Electro haven't had new figures since 2020
Green Goblin also had a figure released last year.

That's okay though. We've had like 8 Venom figures in the last few years. There's another Venom movie coming out that will have more Venom figures, and of course there is going to end up being a pinless Venom sooner rather than later.

Quote:

I honestly didn't understand a word you said in that recap, sorry. I will say this though, Kamala was not killed off for no reason. She was killed off because he was told to kill her off so they could bring her back as a mutant. She's already back.

Quote:

It does to me because I don't want toys from a comic that sucked ass. Same reason why I won't buy toys from the X-Men movies.

Rogue is in the 2 pack with Destiny. Like I said, Lizard came out last year. Colossus would be cool only if he has pinless joints.

I'll always be done for a proper Kingsley Hobgoblin figure.

Anyway, the Spider-Verse wave was just revealed, so it looks like those lists are true. Well shit!

If that rumor is right, we still need a movie Lady Deathstrike.

When will we get new Jubilees? I'd take Abscissa from X-Men '97, original red & green, Generation X uniform, AOA, Excalibur, & new From The Ashes Jubilee.

The film that killed off Xavier and Scott for no reason (even though James Marsden was filming 'Superman Returns' at the time, his literal four-minute role here is just crap), cured three of its main characters, turned Xavier into an unlikable jerk overnight, gave everyone "Class (number) Mutant" rankings for no reason, turned Juggernaut into a walking meme with no history with Xavier, wasted new characters like Multiple Man and Angel, and was so bad it had to be erased with 'Days of Future Past' was inoffensive? 'Dark Phoenix' remains legitimately worse, but there's a reason I call 'X3' 'X-Men: The Last Straw'.

Not sure what the year has to do with anything since there have been plenty of characters who haven't come out in years. Now the youthful version makes sense and just saying Young Vulture would have not made your comment confusing.
Fair enough. I was using Vulture as an example because I'm trying to make the same point as you - there are too many characters that haven't come out in years. That's why I'm hoping Secret Wars has a new Doc Ock - we get an updated classic Doc Ock that doesn't take up a slot in the Retro Spider-Man wave (though I'd still love an Armani suit Doc Ock on the Toy Biz retro card art).

Why not? They gave us Human Fly and Wart Hog. They'er far less important to Caesar.
They're far less important, sure, but they have outfits. Caesar is a guy in a suit. Then again, Hasbro loves to make suit-and-tie figures, so who knows? Maybe you're right and we'll get Caesar sooner than later.

Quote:
But then those take up slots that could be given to new figures. I'm all for redoing classic villains in updated molds, but when they are only doing 1-2 villains a wave, I'd rather have a new villain. Maybe instead of having 4 Spidey variants they could do 3 variants and one redo of a big name villain so we can still get 2 first time villains.
The problem with that is most of the new villains aren't selling. If they had an A-lister who sells with two lesser known villains, an A-list ally or supporting/civilian character (I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for Mary Jane Watson that's not just an alternate head for Gwen Stacy), and two Spider-Men, I could see that working out better.

BTW, we just got the definitive Lizard figure last year.
Sigh. Yes, I know we did. As a Wal-Mart exclusive. That was hard to order and find. I wasn't able to get him, along with a lot of other fans. By the time I found him as a re-release for $40 at Big Bad Toy Store, he was sold out. That's why I hope these characters get wide releases. Just because a character got a new figure, like Lizard and now Venom, that doesn't mean it's easy to find.

Quote:
Green Goblin also had a figure released last year.
And they got his animated series look completely wrong. They literally repainted the Hobgoblin figure and didn't make the right gloves, belt and boots for the Green Goblin. Even the shape of the Goblin Glider is wrong compared to the animated series.

Quote:
That's okay though. We've had like 8 Venom figures in the last few years. There's another Venom movie coming out that will have more Venom figures, and of course there is going to end up being a pinless Venom sooner rather than later.
When the next Venom figure gets made, I hope it gets a new Eddie Brock civilian head that isn't half symbiote covered.

I honestly didn't understand a word you said in that recap, sorry. I will say this though, Kamala was not killed off for no reason. She was killed off because he was told to kill her off so they could bring her back as a mutant. She's already back.
I'm confused. What didn't you understand? There was a recap page in the beginning of an Amazing Spider-Man issue, I don't remember which, that said Paul and Mary Jane were married. That was wrong. Marvel admitted it was wrong and later confirmed online that the recap page saying they were married was wrong. The Miss Marvel thing was/is also a he said/he said controversy, where Marvel writer Cody Ziglar said Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige said they wanted Kamala killed off and brought back as a mutant and Marvel Studios said he never asked for her to be killed off to make Kamala a mutant happen.

It does to me because I don't want toys from a comic that sucked ass. Same reason why I won't buy toys from the X-Men movies.
There will be plenty of people who will buy the "Secret Wars" toys and 'X-Men' movie toys on your behalf, myself included. Also, "Secret Wars" was made because of Mattel's toyline, so there's that. Even the name "Secret Wars" was mandated by Mattel's market research, because kids liked the words "secret" and "wars" in their focus groups. And sorry, I like the 2000 'X-Men', 2003's 'X2', and 'Days of Future Past' films. 'First Class' is good too. The other 'X-Men' team films, though... oof.

Rogue is in the 2 pack with Destiny. Like I said, Lizard came out last year. Colossus would be cool only if he has pinless joints.
Rogue's outfit had white, not green. As I said, Lizard sold out and was hard to find/pre-order. Colossus really needs an updated body mold, though hopefully we'll see an Astonishing X-Men Colossus made that'll work as a substitution.

I'll always be done for a proper Kingsley Hobgoblin figure.
Same here. A new John Romita Jr. art-based, Deluxe Hobgoblin with multiple alternate civilian heads and a Goblin Glider that stays on the figure's feet this time is a huge want of mine.

Anyway, the Spider-Verse wave was just revealed, so it looks like those lists are true. Well shit!
If so, only the X-Men movie figures are getting my money. It looks like another year of skipping Spider-Man figures for me. AGAIN.

When will we get new Jubilees? I'd take Abscissa from X-Men '97, original red & green, Generation X uniform, AOA, Excalibur, & new From The Ashes Jubilee.
All of those looks for Jubilee would be great! I'd love to see some more '90s suits of characters for the Marvel Legends toyline, like Generation X Jubilee, brown Pantheon era jumpsuit Professor Hulk, "opera gloves" suit Invisible Woman (not the two-piece version, the one after), jacket Firestar, black-and-red West Coast suit Wonder Man, and the repeatedly mentioned Armani suit Doc Ock. For the 'X-Men '97' wave, I hope we get a classic Jubilee figure first before we get her outfit at the end of season one. Toss in an alternate smiling head and some multi-colored fireworks accessories and we'd be in business. Beast and Morph would be great too.

I'd expect a Generation X Jubilee sooner than later having gotten Monet and Chamber

Hahaha. Very funny, and very true based on what's been shown.

I don't want to join in on the dog pile of criticism, but the leaked list is going to save me some money. I am going hold out hope for the leaked Spider-Man figures as I never dreamed Princess Python would get made. At least Princess Python will be awesome to have
