Plus, in Target's eyes, it doesn't matter who or what the character is, what matters is that they have stock sitting on the pegs because it is all under the same item code. They wouldn't know if it was Spider-Man, Superman, to their asses, it is all the same UPC if it is in the same package.
To answer your first part, it's totally different, since if you were exchanging a gift at the store for something else, the original gift would've been from that store anyways! Secondly, yeah, they don't care if it's Spider-Man or Iron Man or Batroc in their system since they have the same upc, but that's precisely the problem! When they go to reorder, they see they have full pegs of legends, even if it's just a bunch or Iron Men and Spideys! No new figures get ordered, the old ones get clearanced out, and the store stops carrying them!

Thanks, we will have to see. Kraven I think may have too much molding for my ability to customize well, so maybe I'll be getting a couple of Caps after all. I so wish the Scythe was removable on Grimmy. I could find a hand to put on there. But alas. I suck at customizing so I need easy fixes.

Nova is my favorite from his wave, and not just because he's one of my favorite characters. He's readily available on amazon for as low as $17 prime. The Iron Man from that wave should be stupidly easy to get.

I didn't get into Marvel Legends until this year, so I didn't buy them back when they came out because I didn't know about them. I was kind of busy with other stuff. This is the first year I have even touched a Marvel comic since Brand New Day came out. Let alone do anything with Marvel outside of the movies.
i agree with you, i see the prices people are selling the older lengends figures that can't be found anymore... WHOA im glad scarlet spider, sensational as they're calling him now, and a few of the others are being released again. with price tags around the $75 to $100 plus dollar range, im soo glad they'll be coming back out again and for regular prices.

Nova is cool, i just started thinking about adding some of the oddball characters to my shelves. and as for the iron man, i was thinking of doing a Hall of Armor shelf so to speak in my man cave.

the problem with getting some of these figures online, you never know how the paint will look and some of the prices for them are slighty going up. i should check amazon as well. didn't think about that because im constantly on ebay.

Yknow, maybe Hasbro will do a Wrecking Crew box set as an exclusive of some kind, since they seem to be churning out box sets like crazy!

Today I got the other prototype unreleased bodies from the Fleabay Chinese seller. Again very fast shipping and they're legit. No knock offs. Here's some pics of Lyra completely painted body (minus head, that ones from the she hulk next to her) and the Phoenix unreleased mold. That one was not completely painted, but did use gold parts. I don't know why Hasbro dumped Lyra, she looks really good, much better than the red she hulk, although that she hulk shown on the pic is a knock off I purchased also from fleabay.

The new one in the box set is larger...provided you want to spend the money on the set. The set is kind of weird though. Modern Rocket head on DnA era body, DnA area Quill and Gamora and modern era armored Drax. Groot is sort of a mash of the movie with a sudo almost any era head.

What these guys said. You would be surprised what you can find if you are patient on ebay. I snagged the Rocket BAF for under 20 bucks and I also collect DCD/DCUC and snagged Salakk for 30 when he regularly goes for 80. It involves some diligence and patience but it's doable. Also consider looking for lots. Sometimes you can get a lot with a figure you want for not much more than the cost of the lone figure. Granted they are usually loose but in good condition and you end up with other figures too. This is nicer if you like customizing though.

Even though you called Nova an oddball I will still give ya some info LOL. Amazon has actually been really good to me as far as figures are concerned. I would not buy from them if I was a MOC collector as the boxes are not in the best shape but the figures have been good. I got Grim Reaper in yesterday and the paint apps were perfect. Same thing with others. If you have Prime then Amazon is awesome.

I suddenly have an urge to find a Civil War era Iron Man and have Nova pummel the crud out of him like he should have in the comic.

He's not a oddball, just an oddball for myself... never been a big nova, but i realize he is definitely one of those powerful and respected cosmic marvel characters. i actually got his entire series and first appearance from a friend who didn't want comics anymore a few months ago. i think the current Nova figure looks awesome !! too bad they got rid of Richard rider Nova, that Kid nova is just blah.... not sure if you follow comics it looks like a new Richard rider nova series is coming out with the kid nova in it as well.

I got Powerball last year at Burlington Coat last year for 12 dollars or something. I was so happy. I got two BUlldozers...if I see another one at discount, I'll get a third.

I usually spend time filling in my Toy Biz gaps, like I finally got a complete Hawkeye...and things like that. I spend time, how little free time I have going my own way and customizing figures and figuring how to improve the Hasbro Spidey figures.

Unfortunately no, from what I read the new Nova series by Sean Ryan and Cory Smith will feature the new Nova and his dad, not Richard Rider. I wish they'd bring back Richard instead of this just mediocre Sam Alexander punk, but it seems like Marvel is showing favor to the kid Nova because he's in that cartoon. It only hurts that much more when they actually showed us what happened post Thanos Imperative in the Cancerverse and his death now seems meaningless and poor. New Nova sucks, bring back Nova Prime!

Yeah, don't get me started on that and Bendis's attitude over the whole thing. I still cannot fathom why they cancelled a critically acclaimed run from DnA in favor of Bendis's GotG and the new Nova.

Grim Reaper might mean more to me if I knew anything about his character. I never even heard of him until the toy reveal and then I bought the Marvel Encyclopedia.

He's a rather under appreciated villain, IMO. As Eric Williams he's the older brother of Wonder Man, and has died several times. At various point he has used his scythe as some kind of energy absorbing weapon, and has teamed up with Ultron a few times to give the Avengers trouble. He's not an Ultron or Kang level villain but IMO he's earned his place in their top 10 villains, in no small part to his personal connections to Eric Williams and his mad-on towards Vision.
