I really wish Hasbro would take the BAF idea to the Star Wars Black 6 inch line. I feel like a lightsaber or blaster just does not cut it for the 20$ tag when a ML at the same price has a much larger part with it or much larger figures in general (Hulk , Bulldozer, ect). And you can not tell me that R2 could not have come with his serving tray??? Or Yoda with a backpack for Luke???? They did BAF stuff with the 3.75 inch line , but not the 6 inch?? As much as I live the SW Black line , I fell like they get the short end compared to Marvel Legends

Like i just saw the Evolve creature in person the other day, and I kinda want it just for a creature, but could care less about the other figures in the line. And that beast is a total new sculpt for them, so I guess that is the swap out between brands. Last edited by Phantomcrow; 08-24-2015 at 08:08 PM.. |

I am holding out that we may get a Thunderstrike next year with a Thor wave of Legends. With Angela winning the vote, and She-Thor almost a certainty , plus maybe Enchantress and a couple other Asguard characters in the fan vote, I will almost bet there is a Thor line coming some time. Plus we had a MI T-Strike already. I know that is wishful thinking cause I am still waiting on ML Prof X, Darkhawk, and Armored DD also.

I'd be down for a thor wave !! im not into the clean cut old school thor though, i've always been a fan of him looking rough, i would also like a odinson figure, new Beta Ray Bill, hell even in the current Secret wars main title, they show a female version of BRB race as a thor too. i guess we're just getting a little too ahead of ourselves maybe. |

Nice pic and background, Don... beyond the average wikipedia research, I haven't really seen Black Ant in action, but I'm happy to have him because he just looks damn cool. =)
I believe the constant house viewing appointments are finally done, so I played around a bit to unwind knowing I have multiple offers to review tomorrow... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Ultraman, how do you get the magnets to stay in their feet and what size do you use?

To install the magnets, I place the magnet upright on a metal washer, dab the end with super glue, then push the magnet into the hole using the washer. It's important to use the washer so that the magnet sticks out just enough to make contact with the surface, but sits in level enough with the foot so that your figure will still stand up properly without a metal surface. This is what it looks like when installed. Note the different sizes; I've experimented with how big a magnet I can fit into the various Legends foot sizes: ![]() Folks have called it out as gimmicky and said I'm dumb for destroying my figures, but to me, it's completely changed how much fun I have with them and how many figures I can cram into my display without knocking them over. Here's some old pics from last year that show how it maximizes display shelf space and cleans it up, no more domino effect. ![]() ![]() So, sorry for "showing off", but hopefully that helps folks out. You can find the magnets super cheap on ebay from overseas sellers in any size you need. I have a huge stockpile of different sizes now, and as soon as I open my figures, they get the "surgery" treatment. =) Have fun! |

How by making a small hole in the foot are you destroying your figures? What morons, it's a great idea

Folks were saying "well what happens when you want to sell the figures? you just ruined it!". Personally, I don't collect figures as investments (isn't that basically scalping? lol), and I'm way too curious about my toys to not constantly experiment with ways to make them more fun (with maybe only some hesitation towards chopping up any single piece that was over $100 retail in my collection... =). I guess I just really don't give a crap about my toys unless they're fun to me in all the aspects I consider important.

Interesting idea and nice job. I know I myself would **** it up if I tried to do something like that, but I never thought of what you did. BTW, what is up with the different Black Widow repaints?
Anyway, the remaining 3 of the Hulkbuster wave arrived today. War Machine - I'm not sure what to think of him, which sucks because he was one of the original three I was planning to buy. He has no articulation in his ankles, he only came with one gun even though there are two holes in his back (and the gun was even attached to the wrong side), but most of all, his shoulder guards are weird. The one on the right side is on a hinge (like the black Iron Man) so it can lift up while the one of the left side is like the Thanos Wave Iron Man and is not on a hinge, so you have to bend the plastic when you life his arm up. The Rhodey has is really cool though. Thundra - This figure is a lot cooler than I was anticipating. I only know of her through the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon but the figure is huge. I'm not a fan of them using the Hela thigh joints, but they work for what they need to. The mace and chain is a cool weapon to even though it makes me think that she has hooked up with Absorbing Man. Valkyrie - Like Thundra, she has the Hela thighs and I'm pretty sure they are nearly the same sculpt sans the front side of the body. She is cool although her sword is sticky due to the tape that was keeping it in its place on her bubble. There isn't really too much to say here other than it is cool having another Asgardian. Hulkbuster - Oh man oh man, OH MAN!! This thing is awesome. I had absolutely no interest in this thing at all because I have never been a fan of that particular armor, but my god is this thing beautiful. It is huge, the colors are perfect, and the articulation is excellent. It is a little hard to rotate his upper body. That aside, I have no complaints. Oh yeah, and the paint on all 3 figures is excellent. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

there's absolutely no doubt that the new Hulkbuster shames the (iron) pants off the Toy Biz one. Then again if it hadn't been as awesome as it was, I'm sure many of us would have passed on getting the entire wave. It'd be one thing if the whole wave was new cool figures but well...if they keep making really awesome BAF instead of underwhelming BAF they will sell more complete waves.
Now you all know I'm not huge on redos of figures that already have a figure made, either by TB or by Hasbro (a new Rogue and 90's Storm being exceptions) but I would shell out money for a new and huge Kingpin. He, Giant Man/Atlas, Attuma (probably not b/c of F4 aaarghage) Hydro Man and M'Baku would be awesome BAF - plenty of X-related characters too but I'm shying away from listing though as I'm trying to *mostly* let go of things that likely won't happen. |

I was originally only going to get Strange, Vision, and WM, but then I liked what I saw in the reviews for Blizzard, so I figured I would get him too. Well, after getting Strange and Vision, I was in awe with just how big the HB leg and waist were when connected, so I decided I just had to complete it.
