And you can not tell me that R2 could not have come with his serving tray??? Or Yoda with a backpack for Luke???? They did BAF stuff with the 3.75 inch line , but not the 6 inch?? As much as I live the SW Black line , I fell like they get the short end compared to Marvel Legends
I really hope they never bring BAF to the Black Series, more accessories would be nice though or maybe a small base/scenery bit if the figure doesn't need more accessories. My problem with the BAF gimmick to begin with is that I never want the full wave of figures, this would be worse with the Black Series. I don't get any PT figures, and I know I'm not alone on that, so I would be pretty irritated if I had to get some PT figures just to build one other figure that I do want. I remember how pissed I was back when they did the Droid Factory thing for the 3.75" toys because every time there was a droid factory figure that I wanted to complete I had 0% interest in all but one or so figure from that wave so I never got to have the figure I really wanted, and then going to Ebay just for the droid could be almost as much as buying the entire wave in the first place. Unfortunately Hasbro sees the only way to sell shitty characters or those who are obscure to the masses is to make a gimmick where you can get a cool extra figure, who is usually wanted by most people, but only if you buy those shitty or obscure characters too.

I get it from the not wanting the whole line stand point. I understand that with Legends as well. I just think the Black series should be like 5$ cheaper or like you said , include a base or something. It just feels like with ML , I get more of my 20$ worth when compared to SW Black or the Funko Legacy. But I guess that money ML saves from reusing parts so much , the other 6 inch lines devote to sculpting and more unique characters.

Like i just saw the Evolve creature in person the other day, and I kinda want it just for a creature, but could care less about the other figures in the line. And that beast is a total new sculpt for them, so I guess that is the swap out between brands.

I am holding out that we may get a Thunderstrike next year with a Thor wave of Legends. With Angela winning the vote, and She-Thor almost a certainty , plus maybe Enchantress and a couple other Asguard characters in the fan vote, I will almost bet there is a Thor line coming some time. Plus we had a MI T-Strike already. I know that is wishful thinking cause I am still waiting on ML Prof X, Darkhawk, and Armored DD also.

"Charlotte, this is Wilbur, do you copy?"
"Charlotte here, hows life back on the farm?"
"Like a slaughterhouse, listen, I want to get right to the point, I need the Widow."

"Is this official SHIELD business or another one of your "black bag specials"?"
"I suggest you be prepared for anything"
"We talkin' like New York anything or Budapest anything?"
"I was thinking more like Nicaragua anything..."

"Understood sir, Widow out."

Well hasn't that been how it usually works? i've noticed whatever comes out in Universe line EVENTUALLY comes out to the legends line as well.

I'd be down for a thor wave !! im not into the clean cut old school thor though, i've always been a fan of him looking rough, i would also like a odinson figure, new Beta Ray Bill, hell even in the current Secret wars main title, they show a female version of BRB race as a thor too. i guess we're just getting a little too ahead of ourselves maybe.

Nice pic and background, Don... beyond the average wikipedia research, I haven't really seen Black Ant in action, but I'm happy to have him because he just looks damn cool. =)
I believe the constant house viewing appointments are finally done, so I played around a bit to unwind knowing I have multiple offers to review tomorrow... I know Misty is supposed to be chilling with Iron Fist, but I think she'll stay ride or die with Ghost Rider on his bike like this for a while... I'm digging it.

The bold: They had darn well better. Enchantress is highly requested on fan polls and seems like the biggest omission in the line right now, that is not X-Men or F4 related. And probably tied with another green clad female for biggest omission period.

Ultraman, how do you get the magnets to stay in their feet and what size do you use?

Man, I was about to post the tutorial again for it, but I realized all the images for it were deleted when I cleaned out my gallery a while back... in any case, I use quite a few different sizes since I install them on both my 3.75's and 6-inch figures. Cylindrical neodymium magnets, anywhere from 1mm to 6mm in diameter, with heights from 1mm to 4mm depending on the application. I typically install 2 magnets per foot, and you adjust the height of the magnet depending on the thickness of the figure's foot. I install a magnet in the peg hole (for Legends, the standard peg hole is 3mm diam. x 3mm height), then use a special 3mm x 3mm dremel bit to create another hole somewhere on the foot for the 2nd magnet (larger figures like Hulks and Thors usually get either a larger magnet, or up to 3 magnets per foot).
To install the magnets, I place the magnet upright on a metal washer, dab the end with super glue, then push the magnet into the hole using the washer. It's important to use the washer so that the magnet sticks out just enough to make contact with the surface, but sits in level enough with the foot so that your figure will still stand up properly without a metal surface.
This is what it looks like when installed. Note the different sizes; I've experimented with how big a magnet I can fit into the various Legends foot sizes:

Folks have called it out as gimmicky and said I'm dumb for destroying my figures, but to me, it's completely changed how much fun I have with them and how many figures I can cram into my display without knocking them over. Here's some old pics from last year that show how it maximizes display shelf space and cleans it up, no more domino effect.

So, sorry for "showing off", but hopefully that helps folks out. You can find the magnets super cheap on ebay from overseas sellers in any size you need. I have a huge stockpile of different sizes now, and as soon as I open my figures, they get the "surgery" treatment. =) Have fun!

How by making a small hole in the foot are you destroying your figures? What morons, it's a great idea

Folks were saying "well what happens when you want to sell the figures? you just ruined it!". Personally, I don't collect figures as investments (isn't that basically scalping? lol), and I'm way too curious about my toys to not constantly experiment with ways to make them more fun (with maybe only some hesitation towards chopping up any single piece that was over $100 retail in my collection... =). I guess I just really don't give a crap about my toys unless they're fun to me in all the aspects I consider important.

Interesting idea and nice job. I know I myself would **** it up if I tried to do something like that, but I never thought of what you did. BTW, what is up with the different Black Widow repaints?

Anyway, the remaining 3 of the Hulkbuster wave arrived today.

War Machine - I'm not sure what to think of him, which sucks because he was one of the original three I was planning to buy. He has no articulation in his ankles, he only came with one gun even though there are two holes in his back (and the gun was even attached to the wrong side), but most of all, his shoulder guards are weird. The one on the right side is on a hinge (like the black Iron Man) so it can lift up while the one of the left side is like the Thanos Wave Iron Man and is not on a hinge, so you have to bend the plastic when you life his arm up. The Rhodey has is really cool though.

Thundra - This figure is a lot cooler than I was anticipating. I only know of her through the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon but the figure is huge. I'm not a fan of them using the Hela thigh joints, but they work for what they need to. The mace and chain is a cool weapon to even though it makes me think that she has hooked up with Absorbing Man.

Valkyrie - Like Thundra, she has the Hela thighs and I'm pretty sure they are nearly the same sculpt sans the front side of the body. She is cool although her sword is sticky due to the tape that was keeping it in its place on her bubble. There isn't really too much to say here other than it is cool having another Asgardian.

Hulkbuster - Oh man oh man, OH MAN!! This thing is awesome. I had absolutely no interest in this thing at all because I have never been a fan of that particular armor, but my god is this thing beautiful. It is huge, the colors are perfect, and the articulation is excellent. It is a little hard to rotate his upper body. That aside, I have no complaints.

Oh yeah, and the paint on all 3 figures is excellent.

i agree with you !! if i open them up and display them, then obviously im not looking at the resale point of owning them. You showing all the members how you do what you with the magnets is a cool and worth while idea, for someone to say your just showing off or what not is completely ridiculous...

then again remember who was telling you that and on what forum. That explains it all.

there's absolutely no doubt that the new Hulkbuster shames the (iron) pants off the Toy Biz one. Then again if it hadn't been as awesome as it was, I'm sure many of us would have passed on getting the entire wave. It'd be one thing if the whole wave was new cool figures but well...if they keep making really awesome BAF instead of underwhelming BAF they will sell more complete waves.

Now you all know I'm not huge on redos of figures that already have a figure made, either by TB or by Hasbro (a new Rogue and 90's Storm being exceptions) but I would shell out money for a new and huge Kingpin. He, Giant Man/Atlas, Attuma (probably not b/c of F4 aaarghage) Hydro Man and M'Baku would be awesome BAF - plenty of X-related characters too but I'm shying away from listing though as I'm trying to *mostly* let go of things that likely won't happen.

I was originally only going to get Strange, Vision, and WM, but then I liked what I saw in the reviews for Blizzard, so I figured I would get him too. Well, after getting Strange and Vision, I was in awe with just how big the HB leg and waist were when connected, so I decided I just had to complete it.

This wave was underwhelming for me as well... i only decided to buy it because i wanted the hulkbuster, as well as marvel now iron man and war machine. The rest are currently on ebay waiting for a buyer.
