I can't even imagine being a newer collector, or even just having started at any time during Hasbro's run. I started in 2005 with the Sentinel wave (wave 10) and it was hard enough for me to find things from past waves (some more than others.) So I really give you all kudos for your efforts because I know it's a PITA at times.

I started waaaaaaay back with Spider-Man classics. I still can't believe how lucky I have been over the years. I have some rare figures. Not the rarest of the rare, but rare ones none the less.
But being new, wow. That's a lot to catch up with. Then again, I started collecting Transformers again in 2008. Talk about catching up. |

Those Mandriod/Green Goblin waves got me into it. Although I've had an eye on them since wave I of Toybiz. Mostly I wanted Wolverine Series III and Juggernaut and never saw either so I said screw it. I could just never find anything on the shelves but a figure or two and back then I had to have them all. I was lucky enough to be able to find most of the Return and later for fairly cheap at places like TJ Maxx, Ross and second hand stores like those. Plus it really helps when you've got other collectors who are on the lookout and helping you out.

My first ML was the Thor from one of the first few waves. I really only bought him because I wanted to replace the Transforming into a horse Thor I had from my 90's Marvel toys. But even so that was the only one I had few a couple of years..until that dang Sentinel wave and I could resist no longer....

I'm a newer collector myself. I didnt start collecting until Hasbro took over the ML license, although I did own several non-ML ToyBiz figures before. I had several of the Spider-Man movie figures, and a pretty cool X2 Cyclops.
I don't even remember the first ML I got. It might have been the Red Hulk Black Spidey (yeah I know, fitting). I went back and got some older ToyBiz legends like Gambit. Went to NYCC and picked up a Blade and a War Machine (which I still haven't taken out of the package but Im really close to taking out because over the years I've decided that I don't really plan on selling my collection unless I'm desperate lol). One thing I've never been able to let myself down with though is I actually did get a hold of a complete ToyBiz Deadpool but somewhere along the move to Texas from New Jersey I lost the figure. I still have all of his accessories too. It haunts me to this day. ![]() |

I paid regular retail price, I found the set at TRU when it first came out. If I remember correctly the set I left behind (it wasn't complete but I think at least 4 other figures where there) did not have the famous TRU exclusive sticker either. I should've bout the other figures, I don't recall why I left them behind.

Speaking of pickups, just got a Bulldozer from the Disney Store. Got a 25% discount so that was nice. I've officially collected every single retail wave from this year (minus Machine Man, White Tiger and Hellcat, all of which I DO want to pick up at some point). Maybe once I get those three, I can divert my attention towards getting some of the Black Series. Now that I have Bulldozer though, he just feels lonely without the rest of the Wrecking Crew. Piledriver's not so bad but the other two are pretty pricey lol. |

Hearing all you Arkers on here I feel like the old dog on the block. I have been getting Marvel Legends since Toy Biz Series 1. Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk and Toad. I even remember Toad was going to be in an x-men line of Movie/Comic versions 2 packs or something, they made one for Wolverine I think right around the first X-men movie. Then they created the Legends and stuck Toad in with the other 3 figures. It is why Toad had so little articulation compared to the other 3.
One of these day I need to get pic taken. All the old Toy Biz figures I have on 4 bookcases, but most of the last 3 years of legends are in a box. I get the new one, open them, play around for a bit, and box them up. Someday I will get them all displayed. I sold off a lot of the variants like phasing vision, the fire and clear super skrulls and such. I basically decided if it was a different character, like Blond Widow, i kept them, but just clear and such variants I sold off. My only real hole in the collection is one of the Holy Grails and one I never saw in person. Dragon Man from the FF classics. Last edited by Phantomcrow; 11-06-2015 at 09:50 PM.. |

I bought my first Legends figure, series 1 Captain America at Software Etc all the way back in 2002, although he wasn't the first "Legends" style figure. After years of collecting the ToyBiz animated X-Men and Spider-Man figures, my first "Legends" style figure still goes back to the movie Spiderman from the first film, one of which I still have in the packaging, and is still one of my favorite figures of Spidey ever done to this day. I remember having him and Green Goblin both in my hands, and being blown away by the sculpt and articulation, and I knew at that point, that there was something special on the horizon.

If anyone want a good laugh: Top 10 Marvel Legends Action Figures | eBay
All these eBay articles are so cringy/hilarious. I don't particularly collect ML's but this article still had me laughing.

I'm usually one for letting people have differing opinions but that list is all sorts of bad lol. ToyBiz Scarlet Witch on there HAS to be a joke. I like The Winter Soldier figure, but it being the 2nd best ML of all time? And Series 3 Wolverine isn't even the best Wolverine in the line.

Hindsight being 20/20, we can all laugh about that Scarlett Witch, but I remember the fever for the fig when she came out. That figure was hard yo come by back in the day, and I remember my local comic shop actually holding an auction for her in store, where she went for nearly 120 bucks. This was at a time when Legends figures were retailing for roughly 10 bucks.
I remember the first Legends Red Skull figure having similar pull as well, and that figure was terrible. I'm not so sure this list is based off of anything in particular. It could be based off of searches, average prices, or ebay sales total, or, it could be the honest opinion of an Ebay staff writer. I wouldn't look too deeply into it. And that Wolverine is definitely one of the top Wolvies ever. It embraces that classic look from the Dark Phoenix Saga perfectly, and the base was awesome. It may have been more Marvel Select than Legend, but IMO it's still one of the best. |

Green Goblin (Onslaught Series) 8. Deadpool (Marvel Legends Twin Pack with Warpath/Red Version) 9. Black Cat (Ultimate Green Goblin Wave) 10. Carnage (Ultimate Green Goblin Wave) I'm pretty much all ladies but… 1. SDCC She-Hulk 2. Spider-Woman/Hellcat (Thanos Series) 3. Satana (SDCC) 4. Daredevil Maskless (Face-Off) 5. 90s Jean (RR Series) 6. Man-Thing (Toy Biz) 7. Gamora (Guardians Wave)—I may be the only one who loves this figure 8. Now Cyclops (Jubilee Series) 9. Wasp (Ultron Series) 10. Nova (Guardians Wave) I haven't got my Guardians EE set yet, I'll finally be picking it up next week and although its not the Gamora I ideally want, I can tell that Gamora will be right up there with Hellcat and Spider-Woman. Does Drax use the Hyperion body? I don't think I own any figure using that body.

One of you lucky bastards is getting this...only if you don't have it though, be fair. Just post here how bad do you want it (for example if you just can't find it anywhere to save your life) and the ones that already have one will help me vote for a winner. You have to be a toyark member of course that we all know here, sorry, no newvies...
