Phoenix - Updated buck, either classic green and yellow, or the white and yellow. I have a feeling they would save Dark Phoenix for some sort of exclusive... Havok - Likely classic 90's or Marvel Now Cable - I'd say his Marvel Now look since there is already a classic Cable, but it'd probably be too much newly sculpted parts, so likely a blown up version of the Universe figure. Iceman - I'm feeling that it's gonna be pretty simple, that clear Vision figure simply repainted or casted in a different plastic. Kitty Pryde - Prolly her basic yellow and blue costume...not like she's had an abundance of them over the years. Hopefully she'll come with Lockjaw... Deadpool - You got me here...maybe Hasbro will surprise us and put him in the Marvel Girl costume. Too controversial? Wolverine - I'd like it to be X-23, but I got a feeling it'll be brown Wolverine from the 80's. Pretty much the only color Hasbro hasn't done yet. Rogue - We all know about this figure already. A lot of these characters had some iconic looks in the 80's and early 90's (Havok & Wolverine for example) so it also wouldn't surprise me if they just do all costumes from that era, since the new X-Men movie takes place during the 80s. Still...not a terrible list...just...I don't know...underwhelming. |

If this ends up being the confirmed line up, I'm nothing short of disgusted. Every single one of these figures is a redo of a figure we've gotten in some form before. Granted the Rogue was needed but otherwise, and I know I just speak for myself, but I'm perfectly happy with my version of every other character on this list. Yeah I know I want a Polaris very badly, but damn, couldn't they throw us some kind of bone and give us at least ONE never done before character, even if it wasn't her? I mean, the Moonstar or Madrox have prototypes even! I can't express how disappointed I am a the thought this is the actual list. I's really enough to make me just work on my customs, keep an ear open for an Enchantress figure next year, and otherwise be done with the line, because it's very clear that Hasbro is not going to be making any figures that I'm interested in, and would rather retread ground that has already been covered. I'll get the Rogue though of course, simply because the Rogue we have now is pitiful but I'll pass on the rest, even if the BAF is one I would otherwise have gotten. That said, if this ends up being a not correct list and there's some kind of new figure (even if it's not Polaris) I'll reconsider. I just...ugh right now. edit: I just want to also note, in fairness, I in no way expected that the entire wave would be new figures. I expected at very least half of the figures would be retreads, if not even 6/8 of them, and I was actually fine with that. It's just disappointing that there is not a single never done before character on here. Last edited by Captain Nash; 12-09-2015 at 08:38 AM.. |

Dwight Stall from Hasbro was saying back at SDCC 2014 that if he was able to get a wave out for the X-Men AoA movie, Phoenix 5 Cyclops was likely going to be included in it. That'd seem more likely than Hasbro releasing any "missing" figures that were made on old, discontinued Legends base bodies. The only exception I could see them making for that would be red Deadpool, simply because of the upcoming movie.

You mean...you don't want another Wolverine?!?! Deadpool?!?! C'mon man...it's Deadpool! *said with extreme sarcasm* Jokes aside, I agree with you on the new-fig front. That said, if this 'rumor' is to be believed, I'm ok with Havok and Kitty. I've been waiting for Alex for some time, I just hope they pick the 'War of Kings' outfit. Kitty's astonishing get-up is great, but limits her to certain line-ups. As for the other mentions, I'm satisfied with the originals of most of these characters, but I wouldn't necessarily mind updates for them either. I used to argue for new/obscure characters within the ML line, but a few people on this very thread admonished/chided me for neglecting to consider that many people don't have as diverse a Toy Biz/Hasbro ML collection as I enjoy...I guess, this is the age of redux? I'm still trying to figure out what I will do with my original ML Onslaught BAF... |

I'm still trying to figure out what I will do with my original ML Onslaught BAF... I don't know if I'm making sense. I had hope for this wave. And if this line up holds true it's devastated me (as much as collection-related things can be devastating of course.) I guess I'm happy for the people who don't have these characters already, or who are looking forward to this news, but it would be a lot easier if there was any additional figure that interested me other than Rogue. Because it goes without saying we all pretty much want Rogue. I just don't want it to be the straw that breaks the camel's back but I have to be honest it may well be just that for me. |

You make perfect sense to me, I dig where you're coming from. These are the concessions we make and perpetually accept as fans of these comics and figs. Sometimes, it gets hard to bear especially when many have waited patiently for an X-men line-up...and then, finally, when it happens...they 'F' it up?!?!? Yeah, I get you... The cynic in me (is there anything other than the bitter juice of cynicism pumping through my vein? dunno, Vodka maybe?) , sort of figured it'd pan out like this...The sardonic-dark humor that also looms large within my psyche, finds this possible development a tad funny...be careful what you ask for. In the immortal words of Mr. Spock, "Wanting a thing, often isn't the same as having a thing." Dammit, Spock! Why must your insights ring so true throughout life!! There were many high hopes when this X-wave was announced. There are bound to be a considerable number of people that will feel crestfallen when it's all said and done. For what it's worth, I also hope the rumored list is at least partially wrong... |

I'm currently on a mission with my collection to get rid of old style ball hips from my display, so doing away with the old bodies would be ideal. Luckily, Hasbro was smart enough to design the new Wasp body so that it works with the old 2-pack Elektra base upper torsos, so, in theory, their tooling costs could be minimized for characters like Dani Moonstar; they could easily take already completed female upper bodies built on the Elektra base and just stick them on the updated Wasp lower torso/body.

If not for the fact that they've said it's a "big" figure, I would almost think they'd be cruel enough to make Polaris/Madrox/someone else highly requested as the BAF (and yeah I'd get the wave while waving the middle finger as Hasbro the entire time)....I'm really hoping that if this wave is right, the BAF is something I have no interest in, otherwise I'll probably just try to buy the BAF on ebay or something. Because i just can't with this line up.... |

...and that's how customizing figs makes one a 'figure engineer'! lol Awesome, man! I hope you close on your home soon. While I'm enthusiastic about your personal happiness, I'm selfishly awaiting a look at your handywork! ![]() |

Thanks for the info, but do you have a source for the rumored line-up? (You can probably cross MK. II War Machine and Nuke off that prototype list too) ![]() |

Where did this wave of X-Men figure rumors come from? I know they are releasing a line, but haven't heard or seen anything but Rogue. 8 figures is awesome. Means the BAF should be huge. And the more X-men the better.

I think the probability of Apocalypse is high. The fan speculation, in conjunction with the upcoming movie, seems to be spot on IMO. Here's a tease in line with new figs...they said it's a 'big' BAF and Kitty's in the line up...What if it turns out to be a N'Garai! Yeah, right...not in our wildest dreams... |

As a longtime X-Men fan, I see absolutely no problem with this wave. Is it a lot of figures that have seen releases before? Sure, absolutely. Does that make it a bad wave? Not really.
The past few ML waves have been nothing short of fantastic from an engineering standpoint (even though there have been a few missteps), and seeing a bunch of well-loved characters getting figures with this new engineering is plenty satisfying, especially for people like me who, as TBM identified, don't have an extensive ML collection spanning back to the Toy Biz years. Furthermore, quite a few of these characters have a variety of costumes that Hasbro could go with. Clan Yashida colors Wolverine would be a lock in my book (favorite costume), or it could even end up being Laura in the mask (likely sold under the name All-New Wolverine). Havok? I'd love a Classic 'goofy headpiece' version, or heck, how about Mutant X? Minimal new tooling for either of those, but still stiking. Kitty could have any number of versions (poofy sleeves, anyone?) and could come with Lockheed. Cable... my ideal hope would be a Joe Casey/José Ladrönn-era Cable, with psimitar. And Deadpool is no surprise. The amount of profit that Marvel makes on Deadpool merch counterbalances any money they'd have to give to Fox due to the whole rights issue. I mean, when a product makes money hand over fist, you can overlook things like that. At the end of the day, this is a rumored list of characters, but goddamn if I'm not excited for it. |

And of course when I say figures I don't mean specific to a costume. I mean just the character in general. They could give us all new never seen before costumes for these characters but at the end of the day it's still a character that you have the option to have on your shelf, if you're willing to pay enough. For those that don't have the original character releases I do get the excitement of it, and I respect your right to be excited. It's just coming from the other side there are also reasons why this wave could be considered a tremendous letdown. |

It's 100% figures that have seen releases before. My main issue here is that they can't even give us ONE new figure. Out of eight. It's not like we get a ton of X-waves, this is probably the only X-wave for two years. In my opinion, they really did F it up by making it 100% redos, but that is just my opinion.

Also, I wonder if this roster is chosen from a 'play it safe' standpoint - releasing characters that are established enough that they'll see higher sales from the general market, and to gauge how well a future X-Men wave would sell during this Marvel Studios/Fox schism that may or may not have contributed to the lack of new X-Men figures in the past couple years. |

I find it interesting too, that with all the redos one that is NOT on here is Cyclops, in either his Phoenix Five or a Jim Lee version. He was one I thought would almost surely be a good chance at being made. |

Oh I know, I'm totally open to changing my viewpoints if the line up changes and they've throw in one or two never done before characters. Granted you know who I'd like to be most of all but really any completely new characters would be an improvement over any of these figures except Rogue, IMO.

The original X-Men animated series is still my jam to this day, and any chance to get those designs would be welcome (though I still prefer Yashida-colors Wolverine to the 'Tiger Stripe' design). |
