I kinda forgot about the team pack Gamora, actually if they were gonna do a new individual Gamora I'd prefer it being just a repaint of the team pack figure with black and red instead of green and gold. I've never liked the Mass Effect Gamora too much for three reasons: firstly it had a very limited run which I don't recall even lasting for a year before changing to look like her movie self which very quickly got changed into the black vortex look, secondly she never needed armor before so it just makes her seem weaker to need it now (like Hulk wearing armor), and lastly she got her ass kicked multiple times while wearing that armor (one time by a nameless non-important hired thug sent to get her) she just seemed to be not as good with the armor. The last one isn't a point of the look itself so much as it is of the books she was in when she looked that way being just not good, what was clearly just a new volume scrapped together because of the movie gave us another Bendicide.

It'll become either a Starbucks or a Chipotle. Count on it...

Count me in for all of the above on that list!

Yeah I am not too taken with most of the new waves so far either. Just not characters I care enough about. I will be picking up Taskmaster just because I like the look but I could skip the rest of the wave.

The Black Vortex look is probably my personal favorite of all of Gamora's looks so I would be game for one of those. I agree that the armored look did not last very long.

@TBM
Dude, love the branch tendrils for your Groot. Twisty ties? From a comic standpoint, I am curious how that fight you set up would go now. The first issue of the new Ultimates series made a big point of referring to Carol as "Earth's mightiest hero" and she seems to have gotten another power boost. Lobo might go splat rather easily LOL. Figures I find a series I like just before I quite reading new comics....

I've been in there so many damn times...i stop through frequently because i pass it on my walk to work....Rent in Times Square is a mofo tho'....
first the NBA Store..then the ESPN Zone..now Toys R US...all amazing spots...all gone for the same reason...
Funny you should mention it, I'd been meaning to ask you whether you knew in a PM, but it slipped mind. Yeah, I heard the news last week.

In the immortal words of former NYC mayoral candidate, Jimmy McMillan, "the rent (in NYC) is too damn high!" McMillan warned us years ago.

On a side-note to your side-note...In case you didn't know, Jimmy McMillan was sort of NYC's Jim Kelly in the 70's. My friend and I ran into him in the village one Sunday and I yelled to him that the rent was too damn high....he smiled and gave us the solidarity/pride fist lol At the ripe old age of 70, dude is still diesel! The meeting, prompted me to read up on him to a deeper degree than I had when he had his colorful run for mayor. To my surprise, he was a pretty big deal back in the day...

About what will end up in TRU's former Times Square locale, without a doubt, some tourist garbage. TRU was the only non-tourist haven left in Times Square...that's over now and I can officially have no reason to visit that part of the city. Additionally, while seeing SW at Union Square, I learned that Forbidden Planet had also moved...but they relocated just a few storefronts down the block.

As a look I do like the Black Vortex design. It has some very classic vibes but isn't as revealing as her usual attires.

I'm a sucker for hooded cloaks so that was a sell and I really dig the whole interior cosmic look of her cloak as well. It just seems like a really fitting look for Gamora. Then again, I liked most of the Black Vortex empowered looks. Beast was a little wonky but I dug the rest.

I don't read current books outside of Dr. Strange and Hercules (thanks VonPooten! lol), but even at Binary lvls, Carol would still be outclassed IMO Unless she can suddenly hold her own with Kallark, Sentry, or Bluemarvel, I still see her getting handled. Her tactical prowess would definitely be a big boon, but Lobo is nearly indestructible. Lobo casually beats on Superman; I vividly remember one of their first meetings where Lobo demonstrated equal speed to Clark's and drew blood causing visible bruising on Superman. While I'm a Marvel homer, DC just has too many 'lift a 250,000-500,000 ton luxury-liner with one hand' types...while Marvel reserves such ludicrous power for the real heavy weights...Hulk, Thor, Beta Ray, Hercules, Surfer, Namor, Sentry, etc

Edit: Thanks, man. Those are actually garden wires wrapped in brown thread. I hadn't thought to use them outside of that Magik set-up I did a month or two ago. They were laying around and a light-bulb went off. That's just a beginners app for them. I plan to revisit the effect in a big way!

Lol Yeah, Lobo is one of those characters that is hard to take seriously, but I think that's exactly what Keith Giffen wanted when he created him. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that Lobo was intended to poke fun at Wolverine. A spoof of Logan by making a bigger stronger version that hailed from outer space. The fact that Lobo is rarely ever written in somber tones, seemed to set him up well with the GotG another tongue in cheek team of characters. At the end of the day, Lobo might be a joke, but he's one insanely powerful punchline!....as the Guardians are finding out!

Yes....me...hyper-geek!

With his crazy political ideas and outlandish facial hair he could be the next Mad Max villain! "The amount of water here is too damn low!" *

* Also his potential political slogan in California as of recent times.

I heard that awhile ago.... I think their rent is ridiculous expensive and toy sales aren't what they used to be. ( according to the article I read months back.) I think they're moving to another location actually.

Back on topic, the GF want to buy me something, I wish this damn absorbing man wave would drop already.... that would be perfect for a Christmas present, unfortunately im well stocked with all the current legends available.

"The amount of water here is too damn low!"...That was actually very funny!

To whichever twin that handles the jokes, kudos! On a more serious note, it's sad how unaware the general public is regarding the state of drinkable water in the US. Cali is only one of nine different states in serious peril...

I like to think we're both pretty funny.

Regarding water I think it's kinda funny in itself how there are proposals to clean and filter sewage water to make it drinkable but even in the desperate situation people are still all "hell no I'm not drinking toilet water!" even though it would technically be safe.

Just placed an order for the Amazon 4-pack for $38. Does that sound worth it to you guys? To be honest, I'm not much of a movie figure collector but it'll be kinda cool to have a Movie Hawkeye and Thor to go with the rest of my MCU collection.

I keep trying to decide if I want to pull the trigger on that set. Knowing my luck I will decide I want it the day it goes back to full price. If you want those figures at all, getting the set for less than 50% off seems like a win to me.

@En Sabah

I'm sorry if that offended you. I was trying to be funny in my typical unfunny way. No offense. I thought the concept of having a joint account with someone was interesting when you mentioned it on another thread. I guess as a non-twin (non-sibling even), my perspective is more singular. Anyway, I'm sure you both are a riot! lol

That solution (drinking processed sewage - whoo! Can't wait!) will be forced upon humanity at whatever time drinkable water is no longer an option. No choice. Just do. Water is necessary for life. duh...right?

Yeah that's what made me want to get the set in the first place. $80 was kinda ehh to me since I didn't want any of the figures THAT much, but at less than $40, it seems like a bargain.

Hell no, I took literally no offense. We're all pals here so far as I'm concerned and so long as we're not straight out swearing at and insulting each other then I chalk most everything up to being said in good taste and warm spirits.
