Amen brother!
As for the discussion on powerful female characters, I never understood why Mantis was so dumbed down. As I understand it, her role as Celestial Madonna should bring some pretty potent cosmic level psychic powers along with it but she seems pretty low powered. I am also hoping with the recent turn of events in actually making female characters into more than just skimpy outfit wearers that we will see some significant improvements all around. I would have enjoyed seeing Kitty Pryde remain in her Black Vortex state as well. Mantis and Phoenix are two huge cases of dumbing down. That said, Magik, Angela and Storm have been amazing lately

Maybe initially, but soon enough stores will not be able to even get rid of her.

You would think that with Venom being pushed off into the alternate direction that he has been as of late, that Marvel would at least give a more of a nudge to Toxin right now for the old school Venom fans who have been there from the beginning. He could be the closest thing to classic Venom that we have at the moment, being that it's current host is Eddie Brock. It would be interesting to see Brock suddenly realizing that his new symbiote no longer feels the same weaknesses as his much older one, as well as has a few abilities his priors did not, and suddenly decides to tie up some loose ends with Spider-Man. It could make for a good read and a nice re-boot of the character.
Would probably help out Toxin a bit too if they could come to an agreement as to what he looked like...I think Brock would look great as the classic, half red, half black symbiote monster (or at least a little more like red and black version of Anti-Venom, with a spider logo in there somewhere,) as opposed to the weird, blob looking spaghetti monster he's been drawn as of late. As far as space knight venom goes, i like the new design, this week's issue # 2 you still the teeth and tongue come out, kinda reminds of me classic venom. some people have said that they should have had venom lose the classic White spider from his appearance, considering he has nothing to with the whole spider-man world or family.... idk i still like it. |

Wife just placed the BBTS order for the Spider-Man case (two Ben Reillys rather than two Venoms) as my combo Christmas/birthday gift. Woo!

i was actually delighted to see brock/toxin is in the current Carnage series i've been following. im not too familiar with toxin because i wasn't reading when he came 5 years or so ago, but seeing brock again getting ready to go at it with cletus/carnage is very entertaining.

I agree... anti venom was a short lived character. i absolutely love the look of him being opposite venom. i unforunately never read the whole anti venom arc, he came out prior to me getting back into this hobby.

The stuff that came afterwards was kind of a mixed bag, with all the holy roller stuff that Brock was preaching, not to mention that wierd stint with the Revengers and Spider Island story arc. I really wanted him to remain as Anti-Venom as well, but if the purpose for moving him to Toxin was to streamline the symbiote lineage in the books a bit, then I'm okay with it. Besides, I like the idea of Brock, the longtime host of the original symbiote, being in possession of what's technically the most powerful of all the symbiotes currently, as opposed to being some random cop who wasn't all that interesting to begin with. |

The Anti Venom arc was kind of a mixed bag, as there was some really great stuff and some not so great stuff. I really enjoyed his brief team up with the Punisher in "New Ways To Live", as it had some great comedic moments very reminiscent to his Lethal Protector days, as well as showed a softer, compassionate, and gentler side to Brock that we had honestly not seen since the "Sinner Takes All" mini series when his ex wife was nearly killed by Sin Eater. I really wanted to see where his relationship with the young junkie Jenna Cole would go, as I was wondering whether it would blossom into a father/daughter type relationship, or something more romantic, but sadly, we haven't heard anything about Jenna since that series.

Luckily I only want if anything the Gwen head so to make a Gwen civilian custom. If not for wanting the BAF, only ones I really want are Moribus, Speed Demon, and Jack o Lantern who I got this week. I know its heresy but I'm just not that big of a Spidey fan. Most of his waves lately Ive been enjoying since that's where they stick the street level heroes and villains which is my favorite part of the Marvel Universe.

@Donmecca
Thanks, Don. Yes, it is the HB Warmachine and it is about as articulated as any of the current MCU Iron Man figs from Hasbro. Personally, I have not had any problems with hitting poses with these figs... |

well he looks good, with the flight stand. but if you have him just standing like how mine is, same as the black and gold iron man. these guys just don't look all that cool with out a action pose. my war machine's current stance resembles more of the Tin man from wizard of Oz rather then the way war machine should be standing.

Hasbro should defiantly bring back the swap-able hands like the iron man 2 movie figures, seems to be a sin giving some characters i.e spider-man , cap .A and leaving other characters out like iron man

I'm not a fan of Iron Man. It's possible that my expectation of any fig associated with the character has a lower bar than someone with a vested interest. He's wearing high tensile armor, I don't see him striking up many yoga postures. My experience is that static poses work just as well, for War Machine, as the dynamic ones: ![]() ![]() ...other than providing a shamelessly shoehorned opportunity to re-post pics I'd posted at an earlier date...I can tell you that it was much easier to reach a satisfying vanilla/neutral/static pose with HB MCU War Machine than it was to do so with HB Marvel Now Iron Man. I'm a little confused by what you're saying. It seems like you want more articulation for 'vanilla' poses. You noted that it had limited range, then pointed out that it looked good posed 'dynamically,' followed up with expressed unhappiness with how the fig looks standing 'neutral' on a self. Not trying to be a jerk here, I'm just really unclear about what you want the fig to do. I know people like to replicate the popular 'fist pound' from the movies. Personally, I think that pose is a little played at this point...but that's just me.

Hi, I'm new here...
I love Marvel Legends so much that I have to immortalise my collection somehow. Pics don't do the trick so I do these stop motion videos! Here's a couple! Also, what do you guys thing about the civil war waves? In your opinion, will we see just a couple new additions like Black Panther and Scarlet Witch OR will Hasbro give us various new characters like MCU Vision, a new (and hopefully) screen accurate Legends Ant-Man, New War Machine, BAF Falcon, etc? I hope we get a lot of them, I need them for my collection AND my videos. I'd love to read your predictions. P.S. If this isn't supposed to go here, I am sorry, like I said, I'm new here. |

Wow! Those videos must have taken a lot of work. Nicely done!
Regarding the Civil War Waves, I think we'll get a few new movie additions, but I kind of doubt they will give us new characters that they just gave us. Like Ant-Man, for example. I think the figure we got was pretty close, not perfect, but close so I don't see a new on in our future. War Machine was pretty good too, so I don't see another one anytime soon. But I could be wrong. Personally, I have always preferred the comic style figures over the movie ones. |

Hey all, sorry it's been a week or more since I posted (I think.) Out celebrating a decade milestone birthday in Las Vegas (not saying which one lol) and then all the Christmas travel junk.
Got a decent Amazon gift card and considering getting the Young Avengers box set (roughly $100 right now on Amazon through third party sellers.) Really wanting some feedback from anyone who has this in hand, how are the figures? I've never seen this set in person so I'm just going off the pictures on amazon. Thanks in advance! |

I have the Young Avengers box set. All but Hulkling are on smaller bucks, and they are kind of skinny. Like starving child skinny. Toy Biz had some QC issues with this set and I can attest to it. My Iron Lad's right hand fell off when I opened him up (I just glued it back on). Overall it's not a bad set, and it has gotten pretty rare, so you might want to pull the trigger on it. However, Wiccan and Hulkling are in the New New Avengers book, I could see getting new versions of them. But Iron Lad and Patriot I haven't seen in a while (Please someone correct me if I'm wrong). They might not get made again. I also got a custom Stature from eBay a while back, she looks damn good with the team. Now we just need a Kate Bishop Hawkeye figure. |
