Lol, the way you pose your figures for a photo shoot is second to non, IMO.

@Raf

Thanks, man. That's high praise and really kind of you. There are many better at the whole fig photo package, but I'm happy about where I've gotten to thus far.

On another note, how are those Bandai Avengers treating you? I know you do MIP, but I was really hoping you might open them up and snap some photos for the thread. I used to own many Bandai: Godakins, as a kid, and I'm well aware of the quality of high-end Bandai toys...

I'm very undecided as to what to do. One day I say I'm going to open them and the next day I say I shouldn't. They're still sealed as of now. Hulk is the only one I have open because I have an extra one sealed. Well, I agree on the quality of Bandai figs because that's my favorite Hulk as of now, and all the DBZ figs are just incredible. I just can't believe how they're the only ones that strive to improve the quality of the figs when other brands are doing just the opposite.

As some pointed out with Mockingbird, who I believe is using the same buck, Gwen's civilian head seems too big for her body. Maybe it's the hair. Additionally, while the head sculpt is a good one, the expression is pretty lifeless. She has this stoic, almost vapid expression.
I can understand your position on the figure. I'm not a big fan of this "teenage girl" buck. It definitely needs some fine tweaking.

As for her character, I'd say give her a shot and delve into her a bit more. I initially hated the character, Silk, with a vehement passion. Her origin and sudden "importance" in the 616(Spider-verse) just didn't sit well with me. Eventually, despite myself, I continued reading about Cindy Moon and have come to better respect and understand her character and role in the 616. I'm even kinda hoping her rumored inclusion in the next Spider wave is true. Just take baby steps. haha

If we get a Silk figure, it shouldn't be on the teenage girl body. She's an adult. Not a kid. I mean, her and Peter were hooking up left and right. Throw the character on a teenage body and that suddenly becomes very very wrong.

I am looking forward to getting a Silk figure. I realize I'm in the minority here but like some others I prefer Silk to Spider-Gwen. To each their own I guess.

Yeah, that Hulk is pretty slick. That's a good point about Bandai, they have a reverse industry-trend going on there. They must sell respectable amounts because they seem to be pretty secure financially. Well if you do open them, post some pics here so we all can enjoy!

Story-wise,I'm sure they have put together something thoughtful for her. I just don't really need Gwen to return. I like Gwen's character just as much as the next fan. She seemed to truly make Pete more confident and she marked a collegiate period of maturity for Parker (if I'm getting her time period correctly - been a long time since I thought of her). However, her death was so impactful on both Peter and his persona of Spider-man, that bringing her back feels like a dilution. IMO, Gwen's death was as much a source of Spidey's determination to fight crime as Uncle Ben.

Huh, yet again, Dorkside seems to be getting the new waves after everyone else. Anyone get any payment or shipping updates from them? Not really in any big hurry to get my singles in, but this always seem to be the case with them, and a few times I ended up having to cancel since they took so long that I ended up finding stuff at retail first.

I concur! I really like the idea of Spider-Gwen, and it's nice that fans are reclaiming her character for her own right, rather than a source of angst for Peter Parker, but the stories just don't interest me. Silk, on the other hand, is awesome! I like her design, her story and the art.

Perhaps Silk will come on the new skinny mold we're seeing with Mockingbird and Beetle. Does anyone know if this is officially a new female buck?

I haven't heard anything from them yet about my order. Part of me wants to order the wave from BBTS since I want Absorbing Man, Venom, Spider-Gwen and Ben Reilly but I know I won't make that much on ebay selling the other 4 figures from the wave.

Yeah, I don't do whole cases anymore unless I absolutely want every figure in it. I'm sitting on way too many NIB Legends figures that I don't want or need, mostly because I know I won't even get half MSRP for them on the secondary (especially on ebay after all their fees).

Im with ya there. Spidergwen is okay as an alternate verse character and like a sucka i'll get her cause its in the spider man verse, but silk is just a much more fascinating character and i do like her strider esque costume. Very spider ninja-ey. Plus i love how her and pete have that mad passionate sex need whenever they're around obe another. Screw it petey just go wild man.

You'd probably have to wait a couple of years before you could earn any money off of those figures. Last year was the first time I wanted all of the BAFs so I ended up buying a case of each wave. Fortunately I don't want the new Onslaught figure so I'm only getting Cap and Whirlwind (MONEY SAVED!).

Glad to see I am not alone regarding Silk and Spider-Gwen. I also agree with Nitelife on the costume and the whole Peter/Silk thing. It was really amusing.

I'm not feeling the articulation for the new female bucks. It's the lack of an ab-crunch that annoys me most. They sacrificed utility for aesthetic. Some of the female rib/torso joints are very tight and offer little to no forward pivot...

Lets just be thankful we dont ( yet knock on wood ) have the monumental middle finger to legends the mu/i folks got with their reduced artic. Yeah id like ab cruches back, but at least theres a tit swivel, even if it is minor in cases.

I thought Beetle was sharing the Wasp body but with some new stuff? I could be completely wrong.

I'll only look at pursuing Onslaught when the actual Onslaught head is an option, the Red Skull Onslaught was crappy. Are we going to have to wait for Rogue to come out to get the original Onslaught head? When does she even come out?

That's about the one thing that keeps me from liking Silk, mostly because it feels inorganic and forced in for the sake of titillation. Silk hadn't been around long enough for them to build chemistry, and yet they're straight-up ready to bump uglies? And the whole 'spider pheromones' excuse doesn't help matters at all.

I'm hoping that, by keeping her separated from Peter in her own title, she'll grow into a character that's better than 'Dan Slott's hot OC Spider-Girlfriend.' So far, so good.

That's what I assumed, too - I'll have to compare the two when the case comes in tomorrow.

Appears that way, judging from the in-hand photos of the Cap/Onslaught wave - the only head is Red Skull, which comes with Taskmaster. All signs point to Rogue (either solo or as part of the X-Men wave) coming out after that Cap wave, but nothing is set in stone that I've seen.

Got me an update to my collection here at work.

I almost have Ultron but I still gotta track down both his arms, at a decent price to finish him.

By "take baby steps" I meant in understanding comic characters, not a request for Silk's figure buck! lol

You have sound evidence. I respect your opinion.

If we get Silk, I hope it's this version:

I agree. I like her 20x as much when she is on her own. I feel like her character has grown so much since distanced from Spidey.

Everyone here is talking about silk, she's an alright character and all but realistically how many more spider women do we need ? IMO both spider gwen and silk were just an attempt to be even more "diverse" for marvel to bring in more female readers.

I actually warmed up to spider gwen though, silk on the other hand the art in both her series sucks bug time....

You say that like doubling the potential market for Marvel comics is a bad thing for them to do.
