I can't stop looking at this pic! Cool shot. Those tentacles are pretty strong. They can easily support Ock himself. I have both versions of the fig I liked it so much! |

Yeah, looks like the Red Onslaught wave is available for pre-order via Amazon.
Is it just me or is Cap's face ugly as sin on that new figure? IDK it just doesn't look like Cap to me personally. |

Dude, that's awesome! Very nice composition. Was it difficult getting his claws to grip Ben Reilly?

Great pic, Von! I'm so glad you decided to resize your photo. I've always dug your poses and this shot does not disappoint. Jubilee and Psylocke (weird how the fig is looking a little like Olivia Mun to me now - definitely not a bad thing - I've been a fan of her's since her "Attack of the Show" days), especially so...Nice "bamf" effect on that custom Nightcrawler. Did you make it? I can't take credit for that bamf I am happy to say, the hedges/entrance wall/plaque/Jean Grey statue/bamfs are all the work of one of my dear friend and co-collaborator on this diorama. It's still a while in the making, but watch this space.. I reckon it's about time they release some more New Mutants. Now that Hasbro are venturing into translucent figures, I'd love a beautiful, volcanic Magma. ![]() |

@TMB, Yes I have seen the motion illusion using multiple Spider-Man figures before! It looks great, although the perfectionist in me would repaint the "echoes" a lighter shade to demonstrate that fact. Whereas with speedsters, I guess there's more logic behind the snapshots? Whatever makes me sleep at night, haha.
Okaaaaay. Time to lighten the mood here... I'm purposefully making plenty of room on the modern X-Men shelf in sheer anticipation of Toy Fair's announcements. I haven't been this excited about a wave since Jubilee! ![]()

![]() ![]() She's a mixture of parts, opting out for the aesthetic new Hasbro bucks to make a figure that has a wide range of motion. Eventually she'll get to take names and claim heads, but for now she's just standing with her buddies. |

Cheers man! That's just the SDCC Psylocke head on a custom body, but who knows, perhaps Hasbro's precogs prophesied the casting of Olivia Munn? Who rightly knows! I have several! Taking a gander through Figurerealm, Instagram, etc provides a glimpse of dozens of wonderful artists who crank out some masterpieces. I love custom Marvel Legends. My philosophy is that of want: would I prefer one figure of a character that I love, with sculpted detail and nice paintwork, in exactly the costume/look/era I prefer, that no-one else will have, or four official figures on the same bodies of characters that I'm not overly fussed about?
Damn you though, BM. You've made me want the Absorbing Man wave through your photo sorcery. Oh and yes modern Kurt! He's actually a Superior Spidey buck, with a cast Ultimate head and the hands, feet and tail of the Series 9 fuzzy elf. |

LOL photo-sorcery? Whatever, man!
![]() My only reservation with customs is that if I ever started collecting, I may not stop. I'll wait until I can make them myself. I trust my sensibilities, and I can draw and sculpt. When I get time and space, I'll teach myself to save greenbacks... |

Those are some beautiful customs! I do some custom work as well. My only problem with custom stuff is that I start and just never seem to finish. With the new year, I want to do at least 1 per month. I'm almost done with a Stilt Man that I have been work on as well as a few other surprises.

I'm totally jealous of the customs. I had intended to do some customs last fall but alas, never got around to it. I do have all the parts and figures I need to do them, I just can never find the time to sit down and do so.
And yes, TBM, I've lost track of the number of figures that I wasn't going to get, that your poses have sold me on. Female Beetle and Speed Demon are the latest "casualties" and should arrive this week weather permitting. I'm also very on the fence about Venom..... Third thing, before I forget, last night I was in Target and found the Ant Man wave tagged for clearance at $9.98 -I picked up just the Wasp for a custom I'll do (eventually) even better though when I took it to the counter it rang up at either $6.98 or $5.98 can't remember which. The other waves were not tagged. FYI this was the Rivergate Target for those interested in the Nashville area but it may be other Targets as well.... I have ended up spending more money just because I find a good deal on eBay or a sale in-store and think "oh, I could use that for...something". I bought 3 extra of the recent Target sets back when they were $25 each just because they were on sale. Hopefully you have more self control than I. Compulsive sale buying aside, customizing has been a lot of fun. I have the artistic skills of a thumbtack but I have managed to make a couple I am happy with. I fully agree with VonPooten about browsing various custom photo sources. They provide great inspiration and/or recipes to consider for my own customs. Case in point, I am slowly working on cobbling together my own Punisher because I was inspired by the amazing one Loosecollector made back in November. Seriously, check out their site if you have not seen it. I cannot wait until it warms up enough I can paint outside again. My apartment has crap airflow so no painting inside in the dead of winter ![]() Quote:

RE: Ant-Man wave, they've been discounted to $5.48 here since the end of December... picked up Tiger Shark on New Year's Eve, and if I hadn't already sold off the Ultron parts that came with Wasp and Giant Man, I would've hunted down the rest of the wave to build Ultron (and subsequently sell, but I digress).
Hey, I have a pair of requests: first, can anyone tell me if the Blob BAF is worth completing? I've had the upper torso (the piece that comes with She-Hulk) for a while now, and have been debating selling it off, or trying to track down the other pieces. I don't have a whole lot of interest in the rest of the wave (at least, not for the prices I find them for on eBay), but I don't see a lot of the parts being sold solo, so I'm kind of stuck. Second (and related), if anyone has both the Allfather-wave Scarlet Witch and the Blob-wave Quicksilver (blue costume), could they post a photo or two of them together? I'd like to see how they look paired up, because Quicksilver (and Xorn) are the ones I have the most interest in from the Blob wave. Thanks! |

$6.98?! As in, £4.92? You're all such lucky buggers, the Odin wave is the only thing I have found over here in store, and they're still going strong at £19.99 (as in $28)...

Nonetheless glad I found the deal, I wanted to get a second Wasp to try my hand at a Spectrum figure...I think the outfit just needs to be repainted...and then I will try my best to recolor the face and hopefully it won't look too bad. I'm probably fooling myself though. but gah that hair on the Wasp is PERFECT for the Mighty Avengers Spectrum just need her face to be the right color. |

Not sure how you guys find all these waves and packs at such discounted prices.... everytime i hit a wal mart or target they're either out of anything good such as the new 3 pack or they have a good array of figures, but they are all at full price usually.

The discounts are only at Target, and they're only on the Ant-Man wave, and the Ultron/Hulk/Vision three-pack (which is a Target exclusive anyway).

Target stores near me never even had the 3 pack available from the get go.... that is unless it was prior to me looking for it. if you look on targets web page and search for it, it's no longer even available on there.

The claws are pretty weak actually. I had tie each of the limbs to the tentacles with fishing line. Ock can hold him up in the air though. He just needs a figure stand since the center of gravity is off.

The distribution of the three-pack was spotty as hell - I've seen a couple Targets that had stacks of them, and others that never had them at all (at least, when I was at the store). I never checked online, though I did see that the Ant-Man wave is discounted online, but not clearanced.
