after several good comments about Whirlwind i may have to end up getting him. Taskmaster also is cool but I think I could still pass on that. Captain America is a maybe. Mockingbird I've already ordered....the rest I can totally do without.
@TBM regarding the Serpent Society, some of those would be cool. I don't know who all of them are but any less prominent villain is always a good thing. I'd particularly like Black Mamba, even though the only story I've read with her in it is a Thunderbolts story. Diamondback is actually one I could see getting made.

Oh Blue, you have made me a happy boy! I have a custom in mind and now it's gonna happen!
I also wanted to share some pics of the wave from what I got. I borrowed you stand display idea, Blue. I hope that's ok. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Spyne98; 01-28-2016 at 06:50 PM.. |

@Don
I guess so, man. Although, to be honest, I haven't checked ALL of the more recent figs. Many new Legends heads do seem to be on a ball-hinge joint. A good deal of figs being made by various toy-makers seem to be constructed with a nod to customizers...good observation! @Spyne I'm glad you are happy, bruh! I feel indebted to you because I wouldn't even have these figs right now if not for your heads-up, thanks again! Nice pics and of course it's ok that you used a method that I employ. After all, Hasbro made those stands with this purpose in mind, not I. I figured you were going to make a custom. Let us see it when you are done! I neglected to tell you that your Stiltman was both an awesome choice for a character to make and a great custom in its overall application! ![]() |

Doc Ock just got added to the "Spidey villains" shelf. Might be one of my favorite Legends ever. Those tentacles are just impressive and add so much to a display.

Hasbro did a silver version of Doc Ock for their Spider-Man Origins line, which reuses the same exact mold as the ToyBiz one.
![]() Personally, this one doesn't look as nice as the Legends one to me. The tentacles have this gray plastic-y look to them whereas the ToyBiz one has superb paint detailing. Plus the green on the outfit doesn't seem to match. I also prefer classic looking versions of characters overall (with a few exceptions), so the ML Doc Ock is the clear victor to me. Although if you're strapped for cash and need a Doc Ock in your collection, I'm sure it'd be a fine substitute for the ML one. I've seen the Origins one for about $30-35 on eBay. ![]() I use this Octopus on display, since he's a lot cheaper to pick up and he's in 6 inch scale, and with a decent paint wash he looks awesome! ![]() |

You know the neca ones work for some of the legends. I'm using at least 3 of them for a few of my legends. |

Those AIM soldiers look so good, I wish I'd been collecting when those were more readily available.

A couple of things I've been thinking about:
I am so confused on this Taskmaster. The one in the Ultimate cartoon I saw was black with a white cape and hood. The toy looks nothing like it. Then I looked at the design the alternate head is based on (Udon or something like that) and he still looks nothing like it. Not to mention that one only seems to have guns drawn in the pictures I have seen. Which is the correct version? Are they going to give us any other members of Kobr... I mean the Serpent Society? Cottonmouth is useless without at least a few of his team mates. Still not sure what to think about this Red Skull figure. He looks much cooler without the purple plastic wing back piece thing, but why did he go Lex Luthor on everyone? I guess it is something he would do, but the suit is so huge. Are his legs in the torso or does his feet reach the pedals? I wish they would have just given us a Red Skull in a nazi coat, but whatever. This will have to do until the next Captain America movie.

A couple of thoughts on the new Cap wave after goofing around with them a bit tonight...
Captain America: I'm actually shocked how well it turned out, and much like how Pizza Spidey became one of my favorite Spider-Man figures ever, so has this Cap. Bout the only thing I can honestly complain about is the clip styled shield (besides being a bit on the small side, I would have preferred elastic or sculpted straps.) The shoulder straps are also pretty pointless...they fall right off every time, but in a static pose, sit pretty well. Definitely the best Cap figure Hasbro has put out this far, and while it's apples and oranges, stands it's ground quite nicely against Toy-Biz's Face Off Cap as one of the best. Cottonmouth: I love the colors and the head sculpt, but forget the Bucky Mold...is there any way that Hasbro can retire the Hyperion mold? It's proportions are silly and it's friggen ridiculous looking. My least liked figure out of the wave, if it weren't for the crisp deco and head sculpt, he would be hitting eBay. Whirlwind: Also not a favorite of mine in figure form as I really can't find a whole lot to compliment on it. I do like the choices of colored plastic and mine didn't have any marbled parts. The removable blades on his wrists were a nice touch, although the feet look a tad too big. Still I've always liked goofy looking villains, and this guy looks like he came out of a NES Mega Man game. I loved beating on him in the old Avengers arcade game, and I'm sure my Caps and Iron Mans will love beating on him now. Scourge: Granted, I know nothing of this character, but I really dig the figure. A very clever retool of the ASM2 Electro body. I really love the paints and the web-gear, all of which is removable, including the leg holster! About the only complaint I have is that mine came fresh out of the package with some unusually loose joints. The plastic feels a bit different than the rest of the wave, so I'm chalking it up to that. Good figure to have, and it's always nice to be able to add another street level villain. I can imagine a lot of people though looting this guy for the web-gear and weapons, as he comes with some nice accessories. Mockingbird: Another character that I know little about, but is surprisingly my favorite figure of the wave thus far, barely beating out Wolf Cap. Lots of new sculpted parts makes it look like a nearly new female buck, even if a lot of pieces are still being reused. The removable sunglasses are awesome, and although I still don't understand why they don't put arm swivels at the biceps on the female figures, she can strike a lot of really cool poses. If we get a Diamondback in the future, I hope it uses this buck. Just need to track down Taskmaster and Sharon Carter now to finish the set! On a side note...Anyone who was thinking of picking up a Black Series General Hux to do a headswap with Mandroid Red Skull for a more contemporary look, I have some bad news...unfortunately, the head does not fit. Oh well...at least I have a Hux now to finish out my SW EP7 Black Series collection! Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 01-29-2016 at 12:29 AM.. |

@redfox Ah no, sorry about the mix-up, that statement was regarding Scourge's brown guns, not Tasky's laser sword.
@Spyne, Mate, using Scourge for a Gauntlet custom is a brilliant idea. Can you post it up here when you're done? It'll look fantastic no doubt! Oh, and nice pictures of the Cap wave! Loving everyone's uploads of their new figures. ![]() Quote:
Yes, yes, this receives the award for best photo! Love all the A.I.M. lackeys and, considering their various crouching positions with crossed arms, they look like they could be posing for an album cover. Plus M.O.D.O.K., wherein everything is catastrophically better with a M.O.D.O.K.! Also, bloody hell TBM, you have three Mandroids?? I am awfully jealous! |

Oops, my bad. But I do agree with you. Does the Red Skull seriously need to walk around with a RED pistol?? |

Yeah it's not a robot suit or anything. After Professor X died the Red Skull took his brain and used it to give himself the Prof's powers, eventually Magneto got really pissed about this and smashed Skull's head with a rock. The trauma of Red Skull dying or something created a new, but notably weaker, Onslaught bearing his visage. Ultimately I wasn't too happy with how AXIS played out, especially because Remender had been on a roll producing good stories prior to that.

Like I said above, it still doesn't look accurate. Did they change anyone else's costumes between seasons? I'm only halfway through Season 2 but I had to take a break because of how stupid the season was getting. Granted, it has been a 6 month break, but still, a break nonetheless.

Scourge is Demolition Man. There was a Captain America arc from a few years ago where Demolition Man assumed the Scourge persona. The new figure that's out is how he looked in that arc. Do they call him Demolition Man on the package?
