I saw something very similar last night at Costco and wanted to buy them so I can display my stuff. I've always had issue with plastic shelving is all. Not standing straight or just rinky-dink. Those look pretty sturdy though.

Damn, late to the party haha. Good guy RAF once again. Nice of you to do that for the others bro.
I'm still on the hunt for that guy. Cant find him anywhere around me. The only time I seen that figure in person was when some guy was trying to sell him outside of a TRU. I guess he had just bout a few from the store and was outside his car trying to sell them back to people for $35 each. |

Could I get an opinion on a display I want to put together?
On my wall I want to put together a three part Marvel Display, here's the general idea for context (Please excuse the length of this post, but I have a few problems) >The Street Level Heroes, the centerpiece. (Think 1998 - 2009 Marvel) --Daredevil (red, Nemesis wave) --Elektra (Twin Pack version) --Punisher (haven't decided on whether I want the original series 4 or the Epic Heroes version) --Moon Knight (MODOK series) --Luke Cage (Thunderbolts) --Iron Fist (The one announced during TF) --Spider-Man (the problem) >The Avengers (Think a mix of 1980's and Mid 2000's)) --Captain America (The Cap Wolf version [obviously without the wolf head]) --Iron Man (Terrax Series) --Thor (Terrax Series) --Hulk (ToyBiz two-pack) --The Wasp (the newest version) --Hank Pym (A bit of a problem) --Hawkeye (Odin Series) --Black Widow (Twin Pack, grey suit w/ short hair) --The Vision (White) --Scarlet Witch (Odin Series) --Quicksilver (Blob Series) >The X-Men (Mostly 80's with a few 90's designs) --Cyclops (Jim Lee or bust) --Jean Grey (yet another problem) --Iceman (The one announced during TF) --Beast (ToyBiz) --Angel (Sentinel, red) --Wolverine (Brown Costume) --Storm (ToyBiz) --Colossus (ToyBiz) --Shadowcat (another problem) Now, which Spider-Man, Hank Pym, Jean Grey, and Shadowcat should I go with? The Pizza Spider-Man is probably closest to the Modern Age~Late Bronze Age Spidey I'm looking for, but I think he might be too tall for Daredevil (I've always thought of Spidey being shorter than DD), but I've never seen a proper size comparison of the two. That, and I really don't like the look of the new Daredevil, so the old has to stay, even if he's out of scale with Spider-Man, but with the new teen Spidey, should I just wait? Or is that too small? Which version of Hank should I go with? I'm not particularly fond of any of Hank's costumes, but I still want him in the display. I usually just default to the version of the character I think of (for example, when someone says "the Vision" I immediately think of the white Vision), but I'm not sure if I want to hunt down the Yellowjacket figure. Then there's Jean. I usually think of either the 90's Jean Grey or the Phoenix. Now I have to choose. And finally, Kitty. I've always liked the look of the ToyBiz version, but it's looking a bit too expensive now that there's a new version coming out, so should I break the bank for the old or just hold down until the new comes out? I am not sure any figure got more love here last year than Pizza Spidey. It seemed like everyone here and everywhere else I looked loved that figure. Myself included. As a big trick with Spidey, remember that he is he is often in some type of crouch position. Put him like that and on the other side of the shelf from Daredevil and it will not be nearly as noticeable.

With the Nemesis DD however, I would highly recommend the Hasbro black suit Spider-Man for a display. Instant Amazing Spider-Man #287! That particular Spider-Man is very hard to get though, but if you have a little patience, he might go down a bit in price if/when Hasbro announce a new (Pizza mold) Black Spidey. With Kitty, I would definitely recommend waiting for the new one. That old TB Kitty has only remained in my collection because she's Kitty. I have little to no love for that mold. If you're looking for an affordable placeholder until you decide, you could get the 3 3/4 inch Yellowjacket. |

Augh! Darn my sleep/other things I have to do....totally missed out on that Venom (it's the only one I need to complete the BAF, minus the wrecking ball which I don't need). Very well done and generous Raf! You are a gentleman and a scholar!

I like Daredevil, but you don't struggle with Bullseye...duke it out with Punisher...and then expect to hold your own with Spider-Man. Many fans consider Spider-Man a 'street level' hero because of the enemies he fights, but his powers and abilities elevate him into a far loftier league of heroes...I blame this miscasting of Sider-Man's class on writers that have routinely missed the mark on how his talents would play out in a scenario of real-world physics (as 'real' as one can be with imaginary powers lol). Superior Spider-Man was popular because Otto didn't hold back and actualized the full scope of Pete's abilities. I get that Peter pulls his punches the majority of the time, but even in this scenario, he would be overwhelming for a 'peak' human. Again, forgive my rant. Spidey is behind Surfer by only a hair in my book of fandom... Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 02-18-2016 at 09:33 AM.. |
