My only hope with all that, despite the list I just gave, is that if Havok is their fringe character for this wave, maybe Polaris won't be too far behind. It is by no means unreasonable to want specific versions of characters you love. Nobody on this thread would begrudge you that. I constantly champion for more Guardians including those from prior runs, Nash is all about Polaris and TBM is all for more Silver Surfer just to name a few off the top of my head.

Hopefully Hasbro will be producing more X related waves in the near future as there are certainly a large number of fans chomping at the bit for them. This thread went crazy happy when the upcoming wave was announced. All that being said, even if only one X wave is made a year, I feel different versions of the same characters each wave would become tiresome for many collectors. As for old versions, the 90s Jim Lee era is hugely popular and I know a lot of people here have been wanting those representations of the characters. If the Now stuff is what you like, that's awesome too. The great thing about this hobby is there is something everyone likes and we can all appreciate it even if we do not share that particular sentiment. I for one do not understand the popularity of Sauron but many here love him and really want a figure of him. In the same regard, I am sure many could care less about having DnA era Guardians but they top my want list.

The X related teams are HUGE and offer a wide variety of interesting characters. I am by no means an X fan anymore and even I would jump at the chance for a few that I like. Surprisingly, this next wave has most of them in it. Slap in Madrox, Gambit and maybe Chamber and I'm good.

Wow, that got much more long winded than intended LOL!

nah havok is a more known character then that character you mentioned , he's been in video games , movies , cartoons and in other comics then just x-men. that other guy even if he has been around for decades seems like just a back ground character, it would be like asking them for an aunt may figure.

i mean i would like the jim lee versions too but even say like on here people complain if its another cyclops or wolverine figure being made, and seeing how there isnt a jim lee style of them made (with hasbro) wouldnt it be the best to just focus the one theme , besides i thought the reason phoenix cyclops figure was canceled was due to the version not being the current state of the character in the comics, that is what i find bs when they made that lame magneto in other x-men wave

I think an Aunt May would be a welcome addition to many collections as well. She's not an action figure in the sense of being a superhero but for display purposes she would definitely find many a home.

And you are correct, Havok has gotten a lot more exposure in the past few years. At the same time though, there are so many characters out there that have appeared a lot in Marvel's history, even if not a core character, that do deserve to be made. Polaris, as Kirathis says is absolutely my most wanted, and I know a lot of people do want her made, but I also understand she's not at the top of everyone's list (maybe not even anyone's but mine.) That's okay, we all have our own preferences. If someone else has a character I'm not as supportive of, it doesn't mean I wouldn't want it to be made so they can get that character, it just means it isn't for me.

With so many characters out there that have yet to be made in figure form, I welcome any new additions, while at the same time acknowledge that of course the main focus is going to always go back to the main characters or the current trends. it just doesn't mean that's all it has to be.

BTW Kirathis, I personally like Sauron because he is green, seems enough of a reason for me! LOL

See, Nash, that's why I like to frequent (though mostly silent for the past years) this board in stead of ... others.
Every collector is going to have his or her preferences, and sure things can get somewhat heated/exited.
But at the end of the day, it's thanks to people like you that the discussions here don't end up with people insulting the hell out of each other over the size of their ... plastic.

Let's be real. There are more characters (with devoted fans) in the Marvel Universe then Hasbro will be able to put on to shelves in the next ten years. It will forever remain a gamble which fan favourite or obscure one-shot gets immortalized. And yes, we can try to influence them with our voices, but, as seems common practice on those other sites, to try to silence others just seems silly and redundant.

On the subject of X-wants:
I would love it if Hasbro found a way to translate the strengths of the X-franchise, and included more than the standard one or two females per wave. The X-franchise has been diverse for a long time and this to me, has always been one of it's major selling points and story builders.

Bring on the Phoenix Force BAF wave with Dazzler, FA Storm, classic hooded or modern Psylocke, modern Rogue, hound Rachel, Selene and Frenzy!
(see how I saved Polaris for the Strong Guy BAF wave )

And I know none of this will ever happen. Still fun though!

I think it would be interesting if we got Aunt May, Mary Jane and a proper Gwen Stacy. Maybe not all in one wave, but having those background non-powered people could be cool. Maybe even a full Peter Parker, not in a costume, just civilian clothes.
I also want to clarify something I said yesterday about Anole from X-Men. I was just tossing an idea out for that teen buck mold. I wasn't demanding he get made before other (perhaps more well known) people. He has been a pretty prominent character in various X books over the last decade, but he's still not an A-List guy.
It seems like some discussion got heated. I didn't intend for that to happen.

Thanks daetrin! I try to be pretty civil but I know I've had my moments too....if anything I'm going to be frustrated by requests of core characters already made, knowing full well that Hasbro is going to get back to those at some point anyways (though the X-Men characters may not fall into that given their production scarcity.) I can't imagine a situation where I'd ever put down someone's request for an obscure character, even if that character isn't my personal choice. I just don't see a point in getting in a tiff over one obscure character being made over another, as pretty much any character out there is someone's most wanted, and I certainly wouldn't want someone putting down my wanted.

And yeah, there are so many characters out there, Hasbro could put out a wave a month every year of brand new characters and still not come close to them being covered. It's just not going to happen. So sadly, some people's wants are going to get shafted. We all personally hope it won't happen to our individual most wanted of course. One day hopefully the majority of people will have their wants.

I would buy that wave you mentioned btw. Classic Hooded Psylocke you mean like the Australian Outback Armor? I would absolutely love that design to be made. It's not as iconic as Jim Lee Psylocke but it's creepy as heck and is my favorite of her (even if in a different body completely). Bring it on Hasbro!

just saying aunt may would be hard for them to sell, as of now some complain that marvel legends price is to high for what they get, which is a super hero/villain in figure form, if i was hasbro i would so make aunt may a BAF for a new spider man wave, that why people who want her can get her and people that dont want her well they can buy the wave cheaper from buying the wave loose with no BAF pieces, its win win.

Definitely don't disagree on the price being too high! And the BAF suggestion is a good one. It's a win for Hasbro has they don't have to produce as many figures, but also for those who really do want her will end up getting the wave which provides more money for Hasbro. The downside is if you get into a situation like the Hulkbuster was for me, I really only wanted 2-3 of those figures but ended up getting the entire wave because of the BAF. It's kind of a way to "force" (as much as you can force someone to collect) people into buying figures they don't want.

There are several non-BAF sized figures that if they made them into BAF like they did with Jubilee, I would get the entire wave of just to be sure that I got the figure.

i mean that should be the price of wanting a hmm plain figure, i mean personaly i rather a character like her to be a bonus figure not taking a spot in the wave, and the BaF are a bonus figure. i mean if she was in the wave and the BAF was a must have id be like you forced to buy something i would of otherwise never of brought, either way she would be forced on people.

Now IF we were to get an aunt may, mary jane, and gwen stacy. Which versions would everyone want ?

The "old school" Aunt May looked like a frail old lady with i always thought slight mustache. The modern Aunt May in the current Spider-man series she looks like a vibrant stylish woman obvisously still old but more hip i guess ?

As for MJ and Gwen well they really always lookthe same.

yea, usually whenever Gwen is shown whether flashback or whatever, she's always a gorgeous young looking blonde. i know at least when they draw her during the spider-gwen comic, she looks like a young teen, same with MJ she's just always a in shape redhead.

Aunt May However just looks way different then she did from back in the 60s all the way til the early 00s. i can't seem to find an image of how she looks in the ANAD Amazing Spider-man storylines but let me tell you instead of her looking like shes in her 70s, you would think currently they shaved off like 25 years from her.

Yeah, I'm quite tired of how no one can look old or fat anymore when it comes to females. We shouldn't have to need to get our pages sticky from every female character in a comic, they should be who they need to be.

Amanda Waller, Granny Goodness, and Ma Hunkel come to mind. But that is exactly the point. Not every character with powers would necessarily have the figure of a fitness coach/model if it were real life.

There IS an undercurrent of patriarchy/objectification in comic books, but it's because the comic book industry is a microcosm of all of society, just like any media industry. Since society is currently a victim of the patriarchy and systemically objectifying of women, any portion of society will be so as well.

If you want to see what we need to do to reverse this problem, the answer is here:

The Legacy Of Pythagoras
