My problem does still land with them making Peter in high school. In the comics he has been out of high school for ages. He was married and and had an actual job during the Civil War event, this was a huge part of why he was reluctant to go public with his identity. Having said that, the movie is not using the exact same rules as the comics and the whole secret identity thing isn't really an issue this time around so I guess that eases the change.

On topic: I popped into a Walgreens and they had their Daredevil. I picked him up but I'm not entirely sure if I'll actually keep him.

If you're on the fence, and happen to have an extra Age Of Ultron Cap or WS Cap, pop his shins off and do a swap with Daredevil. It sounds weird, but they make the figure so much cooler looking and get rid of that annoyingly smooth shin/ leathery foot combo that Hasbro's been doing since they toted out the Bucky body

Excited to see Spidey, can't wait. Very happy with the costume, it is distinctive from previous incarnations but still feels classic. I'd like to see a shot of the back of the suit.

I'm hoping we get a Marvel Legend sooner rather than later. Hopefully in one of the mystery slots in the second wave of Civil War Legends. Spider-Man is the most merchandised hero and a guaranteed seller, so I doubt Hasbro will reuse parts even though they could get away with it.

I wouldn't expect a MCU Spider-man figure too soon. That would have had required Marvel sending Hasbro concept art of the costume many months ago, and I have a feeling Marvel has had a tough time finalizing a costume design for Spidey.

There's been absolutely nothing in the way of Spidey merchandise from any of the usual companies. Not even teases or prototypes.

Either they've been working on Spider-Man gear in secret and did an extremely good job of hiding it, or Marvel didn't okay any until much later than the other Avengers.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the figure but we probably wont see a MCU Spider-Man Legend until his solo film next year. It makes the most sense.

Just because we haven't seen teases or prototypes of a MCU Spiderman figure doesn't mean that there won't be one this year. Just look at the upcoming ML waves. We know the line up of several waves but we still don't know what the BAF will be for them and some, like the X-Men wave, are going to be released in a couple of months. Hasbro knows what the BAF will be but they're not telling us. The point is, they're actually pretty good at keeping secrets when they want to. I doubt we'll see a MCU Spidey released in time for the movie but there could be one released later this summer.

I actually kinda like Spider-man's eyes having the shutter-frame (is this the proper term?) effect. Deadpool was different because his eyes were animated to be deliberately emotive for the comedy aspect, as where the MCU films are "serious."

Just curious, since I know that it's not the popular look for the character among many of you, does anyone have a spare smiling head (the one WITHOUT the drooly tongue) from the new Venom legends figure that they don't want or need? If so, please send me a PM. I'm trying to track one down for a custom project. Thanks!

The way I see it, the costume is GREAT. Just because Greenlantern failed at it, doesnt mean that every animated costume is destined to fail too. His eyes work for me, they are clearly robotic and if anything, this is probably the closest to the iron-spider/Tony Stark influenced costume that we will get at the moment. Spider-Man is supposed to be a teenager, not some 24yr old playing a teenager, which is something that always bothers me about highschool related movies. I am personally happy and thankful. NOW PLEASE BRING IN a MCU LEGENDS SPIDER MAN!!! (or I'll just use the upcoming new Spider-Man mold)

I saw the trailer yesterday morning, i was just wowed by it !!! I think spidey's costume isn't bad, im curious about the military stripes on his costume though. However yes when i heard the kid voice, i was like wtf ??

Maybe just maybe they might treat us and we MAY see an iron spider costumes in the movie.

Anddd as far as figures i'd like a iron spider figure and a regular MCU costume version to add to the collection.

I hope not. I think the Iron Spider costume is ugly and was an unnecessary gimmick from a poorly written comic. As for a toy of it, the only way I would buy it would be if it is in a wave where I need to own the BAF.

His voice is just fine. He's supposed to be a high schooler, so it makes sense.

This is sale at BBTS, not bad for custom fodder if anything.

re-issue of Hulkbuster wave might able to Preorder ! i got a newsletter through my LCBS [Avengers: Best Of Series: Wave]
Source here
Not sure about US though UK only
Kind of silly that warmachine is in the same wave again. though its nice to see those who missed out can get them
i think my lcbs does ship to US not sure

i might just get that thor myself ... dont need the others. Feels Like they might not do exclusives and honestly that war-machine isn't their best one , the iron man 2 one is the same goes for iron man

Nice. I still need giant man out of that wave, I have seen him on clearance a couple of times while I was broke hoping to find him again.

Wait, the McFarlane head isn't popular?! But that IS Venom. When I got the select Venom I barely gave the tongue head a second glance, wicked grin all the way.

It makes sense given they clearly announced he'd be in high school still but it is very hard for many of us to let go of the fact that Peter Parker in the comics is an adult and had been for a long time before Civil War happened.

I still refuse to complain even though I don't like the teenager aspect of it at least they nailed the costume.

I guess it just isn't that big of a deal to me since I've recently watched The Spectacular Spider-Man and have been slowly watching Ultimate Spider-Man, along with having recently read the first Epic Collection. As such, I'm more used to him being a teenager rather than an adult.

It takes some time for many to come to the full realization that the MCU is NOT the 616 universe. There has been little continuity between the MCU and 616 universes, and those that are all mostly superficial. The MCU is just another of countless alternate realities such as the Ultimate(Earth-1610), Zombie(Earth-2149), etc. that are all based off the same characters but with different characteristics, relationships, and/or histories.

All this exactly! The only things I have a complaint on in the MCU is the non-treatment of the original Wasp. And the way they handled the Mandarin. But it is what it is, and the first I can get past fairly easily, and I will just have to deal on the second. I like the little nods they give to comic fans of things that may or may not come to pass in the MCU (like the subtle hint attraction/interest between Scarlet Witch and Vison).

So I thought about it and decided to keep the classic colors Walgreens Daredevil. I like these old tacky colors but especially because of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's Yellow. He's a really cool figure though and I'm glad that I decided to open it up. Working with a twist tie to get the truncheon's line effect was a little bit of a hassle and then balancing him for the pose was a trick but I think the shots came out swell.

I agree with you...I have always enjoyed the subtle grinning look opposed to a mouth full of jagged teeth, but I remember a lot of people here and on other sites complaining about that particular sculpt looking off, with the head appearing to be too big, with them also saying that they would be using the toothy one, so I figured I'd take a stab at it and see if anyone was willing to part with it.

Still, if anyone has an extra, please feel free to send a message!
