I just recently finished my Resident Evil Dead Aim Bruce McGivern. While its not a marvel character i did use marvel legends parts to make him so here he is. I ran outta yellow for a blonde dry brush on the hair but other than that I'm pretty damned pleased with him.
Included a game cover shot for reference.... ![]() Props to a good buddy of mine for putting the pic together for me.

I went ahead and preordered the wave from BBTS since I already have store credit for them. Really wanted Black Panther and Nuke, sort of wanted Nick Fury and Red Guardian, Iron-Man seemed decent enough and I had/have zero interest in the new Captain America figure. Then seeing Giant-Man, it looks like a really awesome BAF, maybe the best one we've gotten from Hasbro. 5/7 ain't bad so I figured why not lol.
who i really want is Black panther and Nick fury. |

So I was at my Wal-Mart tonight and they didn't have any new legends on the pegs where they should have been. They did have a small end aisle Civil War display right next to the aisle with the Marvel Hasbro stuff but it was just the Cap wave I've already seen in full at multiple other stores. Then for some weird reason they did have an end aisle display for the Spider-Man Sinister 6 cartoon toys which was full of the new Spidey legends, in the Barbie section. Despite its weird placing I decided to flip through the figures since it was pretty much filled to the brim. Not a single Venom. There must have been at least ten of every other figure except for Venom and Spider-Gwen. My guess is if I went to the local flea-market soon I'd probably find them all at scalper prices.

Cheers guys! Decided I'd rather get a great Polaris than a so-so ML wave (the Civil War one). You forget how much vibrancy her green offers in a display, since not many characters use bright green in their palette.

Cheers warmachine!
![]() Thought so! Really like that Punisher figure, although he is a bit on the small side for current MLs. As for the effect, it's dead easy to make yourself one: a couple of Tamashii Thunder effects, some Tamiya clear yellow and green paints, and then take apart and merge them together. I highly recommend Tamashii effects anyway, they're brilliant. |

@Von
Great pics, dude! I'm not clear on what you are saying about customizing the Thunder effects. I have a couple on the way. I doubt I'll be painting them, but I thought the plastic was dyed that color. Did you obtain a "clear" set and apply paint to that? Also, is your pic an example of two sets together? |

Ah, yes, sorry about the confusion BM! I used the yellow Thunder set, then used Tamiya's clear yellow and clear green paints to get an even shade on the effect. The original looks quite heavily white and opake, which isn't my cup of tea, so I'd recommend giving it a wash of Tamiya clear yellow if you'd like it to pop more:
![]() (The original, untampered product is on the right) What you see in the Polaris picture is one complete set, with the middle section of the second set inserted in (without the large base part). Since that photo was taken, I've gone the extra mile and physically cut up the second set, then glued the various parts together to make a less clunky and overall more interesting silhouette. If you A) Enjoy giving your figures some dynamism, and B) Don't mind the (small) risk of ruining something you just bought, I highly recommend giving it a go! The green works well with Lorna, but it could equally fit Hela or Brother Voodoo, or alternatively the yellow on its own could look very nice with Nova, Thor, or Storm. Hmmm..thanks Von, looks great! I'm not sure if I want to chop them up, unless the price drops a little. I snagged two yellows and one blue for about $23 each. If they stay around that cost, I may go the route you've described.

No problem at all! I know that hesitation feeling well, and experienced it very recently when painting Scarlet Witch to have her full-body suit pink instead of exposed skin. Talk about nerve-racking..

Has the new Civil War wave started to pop out anywhere in the U.S. yet?

I finally found a Spider-Gwen with good paint, so I picked her up !
![]() To be honest, I tried hard to develop an interest in the character, but her comics just didn't appeal to me. So, for a while, I decided that I didn't need her in my Legends collection. However, recently, I was thinking that due to her ever-increasing popularity, along with the fan frenzy over the other Marvel characters (like the female Captain America) on her Earth, I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel tried to capitalize on Spider-Gwen's popularity by releasing other comics that feature characters from her Earth, Earth-65. I don't foresee Marvel attempting an alternate universe on a large scale, like they did with the Ultimate U, but I can imagine them creating something on par with Spider-Girls's MC2 Universe, but that's just my opinion. Personally, I would LOVE to see an Earth-65 Human Torch. Even though I'm a HUGE Fantastic Four fan, I really feel that few writers since John Byrne have made Johnny Storm interesting or likable. However, I loved the Ultimate version of Johnny Storm. Millar made him fun again in Ult. F4, while Bendis wrote some good stories about Johnny (and his friendship with Peter Parker, in particular) in Ultimate Spidey. I really think that Jason Latour could come up with a really cool Earth-65 version of Johnny. And not just Johnny. There are plenty of other characters that I'd like to see reinterpreted on that Earth. Apparently She-Hulk is supposed to appear in an upcoming issue, so I just may have to pick that issue up. So anywaaaayyyy, back to the Spider-Gwen figure ! If a series of books based in the aforementioned alternate Earth does indeed happen, and if any of those characters or books appeals to me (like an Earth-65 Human Torch ![]() Whew ! Sorry it took me so long to finally get to my point, lol !

Her first appearance as well as anything she was in was selling like crazy. Now while she has a fan base, i feel its not the same as prior. If im correct the newest marvel trend which should be coming out this month should be the Gwenpool.... |

Honestly, the Spider-Gwen fanboys and fangirls remind me of the loyal fanbase that Spider-Girl (May Parker version) had about a decade ago, when they rallied and convinced Marvel to keep publishing Spider-Girl, despite low sales and dwindling interest among general readers.

Her comic is still in the top ten solo titles Marvel has, which is more than respectable. Some of the novelty has worn off but that's normal.

I really doubt Gwenpool is gonna catch on. I'll give her book a try, since I'm a big fan of Chris Hastings (have been since the Dr. McNinja days) and I adore the art, but...
I dunno. Lately, Marvel's been doing a lot of mash-ups, and I feel it's been pretty hit and miss. Gwenpool just feels like a cash-in to me. Hopefully I'm wrong. |

Yeah, I definitely agree that the frenzy surrounding her has died down, and many people have jumped off of the trendy Spider-Gwen bandwagon, but I think that the character was able to amass a very loyal fanbase that will remain dedicated to the character.
