To chime in on the Spider Gwen thing; I enjoyed her in Spider Verse. I tried reading her solo book but didn't get into it. I got the figure, but it's be no means a stand out to me. I see why people like her, and that's fine. To each their own.

QUESTION....

i built my new (i guess it's called Red Onslaught)..and i just refuse to put that red skull head on cause(to me) it looks stupid..so he stands headless...when is that Rogue fig supposed to drop..and is it DEFINITELY coming with the real Onslaught head???..i ask this before i trade away this Red Skull head...

Does anyone have any tips on this..or a tutorial page or something...i'm not big on (ME) customizing..(and would really rather pay someone to do it.) but this seems it would be beneficial to learn for certain figs..and it makes this figure look more ominous...
but i'm not f*cking up my onslaught to learn..i can practice on some crap figs..

I took a spare Toy Biz Legends Deadpool head, painted it black with white eyes, slapped a Toy Biz Legends Magneto helmet on it, and stuck that on the Onslaught body. Looks great.

Cool idea.

You can also use black permanent marker to color AF parts like that if you're not into painting. A head like the TBML Moon Knight or black Spidey heads would work even better, if you can find one or get a black or white colored casting. Then either color the head with black marker, or the eyes with white paint. I can expand on the marker technique for those interested.

Also, some people have used the Evolutions helmet to execute that custom idea:

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/z9hiLA9d_IY/maxresdefault.jpg

On the subject of Spider-Gwen: I haven't read any actual books with her, but the costume is pretty cool and she looks great in a "Spider-Verse" themed display. I was lucky enough to find one each of her and Venom with perfect paint locally the other day.

Speaking of Spider-Man displays, I just got the torso of Rhino in the mail (in a cool trade courtesy of our very own Boy Blunder), so all I need is the right arm and Superior Venom, who I now want for my symbiote display (doing an "alt-reality" style symbiote display, with all *distinct* versions of symbiotes in one setup, to compliment the "Spider-Verse" display). I also need Anti-Venom for that display, plus the Goblin leg that that comes with. If anyone has any of those 4 items for trade (not sale) please PM me.

As far as Spider-Gwen goes, I do love the costume design, and the concept - recent years have made me fall in love with Gwen Stacy as a character, and the idea of her getting bitten instead of Peter was an interesting story idea. But the execution left me flat. None of the Spider-Gwen comics have really made her feel like a compelling character to me - her struggles and identity don't feel uniquely 'Gwen,' they just feel kind of 'female Spidey.' Which isn't bad by any stretch, but for me, I'd rather read about 'Gwen as Spider-Woman' than 'typical Spider-Man stories with a different lead.' I'm hoping that feeling will change with a new writer, but we'll see.

Still, visually she looks great, and conceptually she's a fun idea. And I gotta say, I dig the tease from A-Force Vol. 1 with her and MJ. Cute little nod.

Gwenpool, I got no comment on, whatsoever.

There was some scuttlebutt about Onslaught's head being offered with Kitty rather than Rogue. Dunno what's going to shake out, but I can say that the pictured Onslaught head isn't exactly the "magnum opus" of head sculpts (side note: remember that song? Top Quality never got the burn I thought he deserved...love that song). Back on track: While I won't be doing it myself, as some have mentioned, you could make one fairly easily and replace it with the factory head down the road (if you choose). However, if you do go the "Hasbro-sanctioned" route and you don't buy the figure the head is shipped with, I'm sure the eBay/Amazon rate will be somewhere in the range of $30. THE SECONDARY MARKET RULES ALL.

You pretty much hit it on the head here. While it might be harder to find the helmet from the original Toy Biz Magneto separately, the figure can still be acquired for fairly cheap just to get the fodder you're looking for. In addition, there are places all over now doing casts of that same helmet...all one needs is the right head sculpt underneath (I think the for-mentioned Moon Knight, or the Rocket Raccoon series Black Panther head with some modifications) would work perfectly for the base. It's not like it would be a terribly hard item to paint either.

While I'm no professional sculptor or customizer by any means, if you're not getting what you want out of Hasbro, take it into your own hands folks. Right now, I'm starting to see a rise of people calling for a Colleen Wing figure (since she was finally cast for Iron Fist.) She's already out there! Just get your hands on a Sharon Carter figure and a little bit of paint, and you're golden. Why wait!?!

Because that mold has a lot of shortcomings? It worked for Movie Natasha, but for some reason the Maria Hill/Sharon Carter retools are lacking. I'd think Mockingbird would be a better base, myself.

I see what you're saying...the point I was trying to make is that even if your painting skills aren't up to par...there's always a way around waiting for Hasbro. For the person who's a fan of that character, the Sharon Carter figure is practically a more than half finished version of Colleen (gotta get rid of those gun holsters though of course.) We all don't have to be a customizer on Jin Saotome's level in order to have the figures we want and enjoy. There are plenty of parts and pieces out there to make the necessary improvements, and while I'm fairly new at doing my own customs, I actually think figuring it all out is the best part, and have enjoyed making every figure that I have thus far.

Why wait for the Onslaught head, when you could do it yourself? I've seen a ton of great customs for it already. All it takes is some thinking out of the box, and not being afraid to screw up every once and a while. =)

Not going to happen since CW is done by the guys that did Winter Soldier. I don't have unrealistic expectations that CW will be better than TWS, but it is going to end up being a great kick off to Phase 3.

No, they counted Ant-Man as Phase 2. Even included it in the Phase 2 blu-ray box set.

That's what I initially thought, but they said Ant-Man would end Phase 2.

I don't think it's just that an Avengers movie ends a phase but it did the first time around so that set an expectation I think. The film that actually starts the next phase of films though is apparently the film which in one way or another directly addresses the last Avengers movie. So Iron Man 3 was the starting movie of phase 2 and a chunk of that movie's plot was Iron Man coping with what happened in the Avengers, not greatly done but done. Now with Civil War kicking off phase 3 there will be a much larger story impact from Age of Ultron as Ultron's destruction of Sokovia is the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back and sets the political plot of Civil War into motion with the Sokovia Accords. It seems that Marvel tries to begin a phase with a movie that follows up on what happened in the previous phase's Avengers story.

Anyone ever order from Woozy Moo???...when i first came here people put me on to BBTS...and its been great..... So,...fast forward and I'm thinking companies are raising their prices...BUT..it seems like it's BBTS that has the raised prices. For some things I want ..including pre-orders it seems like Woozy-Moo has significant price reductions.
Just curious what the consensus is ....because right about now I feel like cancelling some pre-orders from BBTS and rolling with WM.

I can't speak on Woozy Moo since I've never dealt with them but BBTS does put some mark ups on some items they sell but not everything. Especially store exclusives but also some individual figures receive a bump in price for what I assume is covering for profit. BBTS isn't a retail chain like Wal-Mart or Toys R Us so they probably aren't paying the same price for a case of figures as those big brand stores which makes the price changes more necessary to continue business and even more so for a store exclusive which they just had to buy themselves and have then turned around to sell which requires even more of a price boost. To me the price jumps at BBTS are not nearly enough to ruin the deal (especially compared to places like ToyWiz which can go scalper level on prices) plus with how well BBTS handles it orders in both shipping and customer service it is arguably worth it.

@Dark
I've only used bbts and EE, they seemed comparable. I do pay more for a case to get decent paint jobs. Does Woozy Moo do this? I've never used them, so I don't know.

of course that means moot with shitty service...but that's why i asked...ya never know...

For Marvel Figuarts, never go to BBTS. I have friends that got their Marvel stuff from AmiAmi and mykombini and it was significantly less expensive.

The American sites jack up the prices on them since they have to act as a middleman, but if you go straight to the Japanese retailers it's much cheaper. There are Japanese sites that have Black Widow up for 60 dollars American instead of the 100 BBTS is charging.

Ditto on not buying any figuarts from them unless they're being distributed via Bluefin (like the DBZ figuarts are). I collect the Kamen Rider figuarts and especially trying to get the Tamashii Web exclusives they can often being marked up by $40.

Not really their fault since they have to account for middleman fees which can be a real pain in the ass (trust me, I know lol).

If anyone's like me and can't stand looking at the horror of an alien face known as Hasbro's Sharon Carter, I might have found a decent remedy.
Switch out her head for one of the Winter Soldier Black Widow ones, and give her Widow's set of hands (to replace the monstrous ones the figure already has), and that's it. Extremely simple, and you now have an Agent 13 who won't give you severe eye pain to look at.
