If anyone's like me and can't stand looking at the horror of an alien face known as Hasbro's Sharon Carter, I might have found a decent remedy.
Switch out her head for one of the Winter Soldier Black Widow ones, and give her Widow's set of hands (to replace the monstrous ones the figure already has), and that's it. Extremely simple, and you now have an Agent 13 who won't give you severe eye pain to look at. ![]() Never thought to put my extra pair of hands to use, lol! |

Finally Picked up Nick Fury. Only took 2 years. Everyone is here except Quicksilver which I am in the process of hunting down and My BAF Hulkbuster which is having a total new Movie Paint job and some added treats.

For Marvel Figuarts, never go to BBTS. I have friends that got their Marvel stuff from AmiAmi and mykombini and it was significantly less expensive.
The American sites jack up the prices on them since they have to act as a middleman, but if you go straight to the Japanese retailers it's much cheaper. There are Japanese sites that have Black Widow up for 60 dollars American instead of the 100 BBTS is charging. |

Also, I don't know how much this applies to other toy lines, but my wife has snagged me some import TFs on Amazon for damn close to their retail price. Might want to take a dip in there.

The hand trick was one I tried out when I first bought the Sharon, but I never mentioned here. It does work, but to anyone who tries it, be warned, the pegs on the WS Widow are very small and fit very loose, giving her wobbly, helicopter, wrists. You also lose a tiny bit of articulation (the wrist swivel.) I tried it for a bit, but I got tired of her hands spinning around in the sockets, so I ended up going back to Sharon's original set of paws... I thought about trying this swap with the AoU 4 pack Widow, as the wrist pegs might be larger, but I didn't want to needlessly pull apart a unique figure from a 4 pack only to find there's no difference, nor did I feel like painting the fingers on those hands to give it the finger-less glove look the WS Widow had. |

^^ You're very right TPsychic, the hands are quite loose, and they lack the wrist joint which is very unfortunate. I also wouldn't want to take apart a very nice 4-pack figure! I just had another BW hanging about, so I thought eh, why not? Sharon's hands are one of the worst things about the figure imo, with that malformed fist-thing and the extraordinarily bulbous trigger hand..
I think with the head, it worked very well for Medusa, who is technically alien, but with Sharon the point-ed chin (said in a Monty Python voice) and cheekbones that could cut steel just seemed very out of place. Ideally I'd've liked to have used a Ms. Marvel head, but this one suits her quite nicely (at least temporarily)! Overall this figure could have been great. Misty Knight body in white plastic with the prototype head. Simple. Instead we got this scary vision.. I'm a big fan of the character, so she needed a LOT of modification (for a non-customiser, at least) for me to be happy with the figure. I even severed her feet and replaced them with Spider-Girl's to give her her flat black boots w/ ankle pivot. Last edited by VonPooten; 04-07-2016 at 04:14 AM.. |

Love the shots advocatepinoy, can't wait to get that black panther. I hope that wave and the X-Men wave drop soon. Not sure on my living situation schedule, in this house at least through May maybe even June (most likely)/July (maybe?), then an apartment til the new house is done (late 2016 we're hoping.) Reason I detail all that, I'm not very confident about preordering that comes post June because I don't know where I'll be. Ugh.
I'm guessing the Civil War Wave will drop in time but the X-Men wave won't..... |

Awesome pictures everyone! Nice stuff!
On a side note, I was re-reading the first two X-23 solo miniseries. I really wish we got a better version of her. The Toy Biz one never sat right with me. While I would like to see her in her Wolverine costume, I have always enjoyed the black sleeveless costume. I was thinking of working on a custom one, but I never went anywhere with it. |

Not a bad idea with the head swap trick, although truthfully, as much as Rogue...erm..I mean...Sharon...gets bagged on for her face, it's not actually that bad. I found that it's proper placement of the eyes and lipstick either makes or breaks the sculpt, and if you have a steady enough hand to touch up either one, (the lipstick on mine was all off, but I managed to fix it with a dab of acrylic) the original head can be salvaged for a unique look.

Yeah I've been noticing that too, although the price tends to fluctuate a bit here and there but still pretty good and qualifies for free shipping.
Agree with you on the toybiz one. I got rid of it after a while even though she's one of my favorite characters...It look too young. |

Which reminds me...with all these places doing casts for head sculpts and what not, I really wish some of them would spend more time doing casted hands and feet. They would make a killing off of me if they were to simply do the Spiderman hands alone, as there's so many little tweaks that I want to do to other figures, but can never cheaply find the parts for. |

I always thought that with a repainted WWE Brie Bella from the recent Bella Twins Battle Pack, coupled with a either a WWE Paige or WWE AJ Lee headsculpt (preferably from her very last figure), would make for a perfect X-23 custom. The female WWE figures are rather nicely articulated, and most of them size up well with Marvel Legends. Unfortunately, the money has been tight, so I haven't been able to gather up the pieces and give it a whirl myself.

I would actually go with the Series #53 AJ if that were the case, as the figure actually has a slightly smaller body than the Series 21 Elite. The T-shirt is also sculpted on the lower torso of the basic figure as as well, making for a better look. I personally think the face sculpt is better too, as she's without that creepy smile many of the other figures have, plus you don't lose any of the articulation as unlike the male counterparts, basic and Elite Diva figures feature the same articulation. It's also much cheaper. =)

Nice swap out on Sharon VonPooten! The original hands really hurt that figure.
Amazing pictures as always AP and TBM! |
