LOL I gave up on the hunt after going to my local Wal-Mart/Target at least twice a week and seeing the same figures that were there a year ago. Legend has it there's still 5 Winter Soldiers on that Target's pegs.

Aside from Fantastic Four who is the most prominent hero out there who has not been replaced/gone through a name change/got another version of etc now? I'm going to guess Storm but just interested in other opinions.

Edit: i guess Daredevil, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch and Black Panther are up there as well, but you've got someone with a disability, women and racial minorities already in that to be PC, chances are none of those five will be replaced.

Further edit: man, Colossus better run fast. He's about the only non-minority original character left.

They didn't kill the Hulk to replace him with Cho. The two are separate characters that can exist together (although I'm not a huge fan of Cho because he represents a stereotype in my eyes)...they killed the Hulk because they are inept and lack vision.

...about Surfer and the potential of re-casting him as a nod to the fluid nature of sexuality and gender...that's been done already with Stardust who is pretty ambiguous, maybe even asexual...a character I'd like to know more about...not to mention Korg and Hiroim's romance. I have no problem with that sort of writing, I actually encourage it because it's more reflective of real life. What I have a problem with is the killing off of characters for effect or lack of vision as to 'what's next' for them. STRONG EDITORIAL LEADERSHIP FOR MARVEL, NOW...this stuff's getting pathetic.

So the original Thor no longer was Thor because he was "not worthy", something that Nick Fury whispered to him to make him realize he wasn't worthy. Did we EVER find out what that actually was? It was like...."we're going to do this story but we dont' want to have any actual logical reason why we're doing it. We just want to talk about the new Thor and neveryoumind the old Thor!"

I have had some interesting convos about Thor regarding that bit of storytelling, insights which make me understand it more as someone who doesn't read the title. On the separate Thor as a woman matter, the only thing I would add is that the current gender shift was foreshadowed in Earth-X and Universe-X. Maybe we'll see Franklin Richards begin his evolution into Galactus as well...
